Three Ways to Practice Good Sportsmanship

Practicing good sportsmanship is essential to creating a welcoming environment for all competitors! For the most part, I've found that AKC Rally and AKC Obedience is full of supportive handlers, coaches, and friends. Here are three ways that I encourage people to be good sports within canine competitions.

About Maya: A nine year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Maya loves carrots, broccoli, pasta, and turkey treats the most. She’s also particularly enjoys the beach (but not swimming), playing tug of war, learning new things, competing in Rally and Obedience, and taking up the entire bed at night.
About Kayla: I began training dogs in 2008, starting with raising puppies to be future service dogs and fell in love with the human-canine connection. Over the last several years, I’m thankful to have had the chance to help train service dogs, therapy dogs, compete in Obedience and Rally, and introduce people to the dog sports I love.

I made my best friend in the rally world by her coming up and trying to help me build team work with my corgi and Schipperke when I was new to the sport but now she is gone she passed away in 2013 As I work with my new dogs I wish she was still here to talk to
