Corgi owner here. I love your videos. I remember the years earlier controversy about lowering the jump heights and how it was going to "water down" the "athleticism" of obedience. Those of us in agility though that was a pretty funny thing to claim.
I got my wall jump years ago & it's not solid. It has 6 panels that fit into standard jump cups. I think it came from affordable agility if I remember correctly. It does fall apart if hit unlike the Schutzhund wall ☺️ 🐾🐾
Omg my dog hitting the high jump is my biggest fear and why I am so afraid to do anything more than novice obedience. Also glad you mentioned something about jump heights for corgis amd other breeds
In rally advanced, do they typically do broad jumps? We're competing in 2 weeks and I know it says they can include a broad jump in the rules, but I don't have one to practice with and I'm unsure if my dog would understand what I'm asking.
They certainly can! Definitely much rarer to see broad jumps in Rally as opposed to Obedience (at least in my area of the country), but it still happens every once in a while!
Hi there! Jump height is determined by height at the shoulders, not by weight. So, for example, if your dog is four inches tall, they jump four inches in regular classes. If they're eight inches tall at the shoulder, they jump eight inches in regular classes. More info can be found in the Obedience Rules and Regulations!
The AKC Board of Directors voted not to require the replacement of current jumps with displaceable jumps. In all likelihood, (IMO) it was rejected because it would require superintendents to spend thousands of dollar on new jumps.
In most cases they already have jumps they can use. The heights will just be lower. They could easily take a bar jump, hang a piece of cloth over it and make it “look” like a high jump to the dog.
great video!! Any sport should always be mentally and physically safe. Our dogs cannot speak for themselves and we must always keep it safe!!

I am 100% for it.
I sent that video of my dog Max, that you used with agility tires, into the AKC. Yes they changed it within 2 years!
I'm so glad you sent it and they changed the regulations!
Perfect!! I love this video sooooooo much!!!
Thank you! Feel free to share!
Any idea how they might be constructed or what they look like?
What is it going to look like

No brainer!
