  • Maya has her Rally Master ("RM") and Rally Advanced Excellent ("RAE") titles and is currently working toward her Rally Championship, otherwise called a "RACH" (which is pronounced like the word "rock"). One of the behaviors she’s often most confident doing is the “Go Out to a Cone” which is used for signs 306, 307, and 308 in AKC Rally. Watch the video to learn how I trained this behavior!

About Maya: An eight year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Maya loves carrots, broccoli, pasta, and turkey treats the most. She’s also particularly enjoys the beach (but not swimming), playing tug of war, learning new things, competing in Obedience or Rally, and taking up the entire bed at night.
About Kayla: I began training dogs in 2008, starting with raising puppies to be future service dogs and fell in love with the human-canine connection. Over the last several years, I’m thankful to have had the chance to help train service dogs, therapy dogs, compete in Obedience and Rally, and introduce people to the dog sports I love.
Thank you for watching this video! Maya and I compete in both AKC Rally and Obedience, so if there’s something you specifically want to see or learn about, leave us a comment below! And if you enjoyed learning how I trained Maya to do this behavior, please give us a like, hit subscribe, and pass it on!

Per Rally rules. How close to the cone do they have to be? And must they position they're bodies to the rear of it? The AKC description I've seen just says in the vicinity or area.

@@morethanjustadog I appreciate your quick response. Got the pvc pipe and will cut sections today for the placement box. Thanks for the training tips. The others worked like a charm. Looking forward to more of your videos. Happy New Year from my pups to yours.🐕‍🦺🐕🐶😀

I have just discovered your channel! Some really helpful tips, thank you. I have a 5 month old Pembroke Corgi~Clarence~and I was wondering if you would mind giving me the dimensions of your box used in this video. 😊

For the box to work the way you want it to, it really needs to be made with each dogs' individual dimensions in mind. Never thought about making this a video, but maybe I should do one to show people how to make their own box! Thanks for watching!

This is really helpful! My Corgi and I are learning the Masters signs; would love to see how you taught spins, as we're finding it difficult with our height differences plus his long back.

So glad you found it useful! I'll add your suggestion to my list! It's true that sometimes working with short dogs can be challenging!
