I enjoyed watching this hunt. Great job putting up birds girls! As a professional "misser", I think you made some tough shots! That first one crossing, rising, AND banking away with the wind was a very missable bird. The quick shot in the cedars, also nice. Good hunting :)
Thanks I appreciate it. I'm an average shooter and often streaky. I address my issues as best I can, and just go hunting. It's fun to think back on the hits and misses. The dogs have put up with me so far. 😅
Good stuff!! Skye is such a stud, but Roxy is no slouch herself. A new shotgun might be just what you need. One that holds more than two shells. ;) I'm just playing with you. I have a seriously strong catalogue of missed shots over the past 5 years of recording my hunts. Take care!
That was a no maintenance road, so hunting is allowed. Property lines you can hunt if there is a section line road. These will be marked "minimum maintenance" or "no maintenance. There is a section on hunting road rights of way in the SD hunting regs booklet.
I wonder the location of these hunts, I know where lake Poinsett is at. I hunt north and east of there. I need to move back to S.D. and enjoy the fall seasons. Any reason for a new shotgun is acceptable, I come up with reasons once a year.

The repeater comes with as a backup, but I'm thinking it needs to come out a lot more often, Lord knows I need it sometimes!
Is the "on the way home" hunt on private land or can we hunt the property lines?

Sounded like a prairie chicken flying in that section you mentioned
