- You've already seen the release of the "Josh's Favorite Amps Pack," now get ready for the thickets, girthiest, more loud, most big amps with the release of "Josh's Big American Amp Pack!" This pack features Josh's biggest and loudest Fender amps, from the '67 Blackface Dual Showman to the Silverface Super Reverb, which destroyed one of Josh's ribbon mics. This pack will not leave you disappointed. In this episode, Josh will showcase some of his favorite profiles from each amp. OMG...That little hands outro busted me up ... I was laughing so hard....Great video... got me thinking of doing some amp profiling.
I have a 1979 Fender Quad Reverb I use. I bought it from my bandmate and good buddy who wanted to keep it in the family. Years ago, he had the amp cut off from the speakers because we always had issues with the speakers (and it was just a bear to travel around with) but the amp was a thing of beauty. So now it is a "Quad Reverb head." I love it.
Need to get on that TONEX train. While the capture process is more intensive - more accurate and better price point and larger echo system.

I’m shocked, SHOCKED, that this is the first time I’m seeing/hearing about girth units. I request all the old videos be redone with girth units added for all dirt pedals and amplifiers.

This is off topic but I wanted to comment on the newest vid for visibility and just thank you Josh for all you’ve taught me about pedals, I’m getting so much more use out of my gear and I really want to try some mods before I acquire any new gear. Wish me luck!

A 15" speaker is really cool for guitar. I have a couple cabs that each have an Eminence Legend 1518. Just a few years ago they only cost $100. The prices have increased since then. They sound awesome! The lower mids give your guitar tone added meat in comparison with most 12" speakers or smaller. Otherwise, their response is full and balanced with a relatively flat EQ.
or an undersized speaker.
1. buy an amp w/ speaker
2. remove the speaker
3. replace it with a smaller, lower watt capacity speaker
4. try not to blow out the new speaker

I’m a huge believer in mixing speaker sizes, especially for a pa setup. Mixing some 12’s with some smaller speakers just really changes the game.
@Roger-il8iw I'm down! Different speakers accentuate different frequencies. When you combine them, it sounds rich and huge. I apply that same principle with vacuum tubes when mixing or combining amps.
I bet you would like my "Little Leslie." Several years ago, I found an electric organ that was broken on the side of the road. I ripped out its "Leslie Tremolo" system. Which is just a small drum rotating speaker device. I built a cabinet for it that is about the size of a large 1×12" or small 1×15". I designed a motor controller for it so it would run at a range of speeds, not just one. Then I wired up the necessary ins-and -outs, plus a removable IEC cable. It is really cool. I didn't have any money. The wood was mostly scraps except the baffle. I used the covering ripped from an old leather chair instead of Tolex.
@@TheRealcdawg22 exactly I have two cheap kustom pa’s with 4 inch speakers, and using them with my pa makes it sound unbelievably better. I’m surprised at how few people use or know about this….
@@Roger-il8iw I think the "Little Leslie" has an 8" speaker with an alnico magnet. The other speaker that was in the organ was a 12" OEM Celestion with an alnico magnet. It is very bright.
I badly want someone to model my beloved Fender Machete. It’s becoming a little too valuable to gig with, but nothing even comes close. Twin reverb cleans, Mesa style lead channel, huge volume, huge range of sounds. So, so underrated.

I see you have many Dan-O pedals....So do I...I even kept in my gigbag what I call the BRICK...It's the violet colored DanEcho...At 72 years young you never know when you'll need a weapon !! I am a customer...I still use and really like my unicorn..People are always asking what I use to get that sound..Also three vibe pedals before the Unicorn you did a excellent job with my ugly greenish Dan-O vibe pedal...It was so good I had you do two...Thanks again and like always you guys are AMAZING !!!
Woo. They sound very nice. I would like a large room and a large amp first, so that I can get past wanting to play a large amp in a large room, and then, after that, I would like a computer simulation of all the cool amps that I can't buy or lift or use at home.

JHS should make a line of speakers, so that people can mix and match speakers in their cabs for different tones
Love that Bluesmaker. It's sounds a bit more Vox than Fender to me, at least when dirty. But that's how I like it; dirty dog. I like the Super Reverb too, maybe more than I like thinner sounding Fender's like Deluxe Reverbs.

Hi guys! I downloaded the free profile to test it with my HX Stomp. As I tried to load it into the Stomp I got an error message: 8701 - Preset translation not supported, dsp block constraint exceeded. After researching a bit I found out that probably the profile was made for the Helix and isn't compatible with the Stomp as currently available. Did I do something wrong? Am I missing something? Thank you in advance for your help :)
Im new to Hx Stomp. These would be presets using existing Stomp amps that are closest match? And with new IR’s?
Does the pack comes with snapshots for HX Stomp equivalent to different inputs for the same amplifier?

@@martianmurrayahaha, I think they sound great, sad thing is there is not enough for everyone to have or experience, especially those classic 1950s-1960's Fenders and Gibson's, $50,000-$100,000, I can't wait for the day that Kemper makes a simple plugin that sounds fantastic lol

The amps speaker that was mic'd when the Profile was made.
No need to use IRs with the Kemper, you can but the Kemper cabinets sound better, IMO

This pack is specifically designed for Kemper and Helix platforms only. VST is a little different

I think I know where the Super Reverb is but when I dialed the number it was guy a who kept asking me to measure my girth....Weird but he insisted it was necessary to find the amp.

Nope. I assume he's found some settings that sound like the amps he's referring to, probably along with a dedicated impulse response? He definitely should have spent another 20 seconds explaining how this pack works for Helix devices before expecting people to pay for it.
Those cheap totinos party pizza destroy ever other frozen pizza in my opinion. Crispy, thin, and not too heavy. Plus, it’s perfect for one person.

Having owned a 65 Showman, the profile is a lot better. I only was able to get my Showman up to 5 outdoors and even then it was too loud and barely breaking up. But a Showman is a Twin Reverb without the reverb and as a head only... shouldn't really sound any different... both are great clean platforms but have to be insanely loud to get breakup...
Bandmaster has a smaller OT than a Bassman, so less girthy...

Have I solved the mystery? Steve Ridinger designed the Danelectro D1 FAB Distortion in 2005. The only FAB pedal that is NOT a clone. _____Or to put it another way buy one for $30 before they are $300 by tomorrow.
