sick little truck! love the manual! i have an 06 xterra and im thinking about replacing with with basically the exact truck you have! my Xterra is white too! its lifted on 33's but not tswapped. also auto .. but yeah since they dont make xterra's anymore im looking at that frontier more now. I like the 4.0
Do it, I had a 2007 Xterra off-road with the 6-speed, ended up selling it, and bought a crew cab frontier with the 6-speed as well, definitely worth the hassle. Frontier is titan swapped with plans for a vk and shock hoops
Wondering how much of this trail was done in 2wd vs 4wd and what gear were you in most of the time? I'm guessing 2nd, but not sure. Engine revs seemed low.
I’m fixing to get one. I’m hoping to have the money before my birthday on June 5th. It’s got 180k it’s an 07 it’s 2500$ u think that’s a good deal or what??
Yes, the QX80 has the titan suspension so it has the correct length and the same R180 diff as the frontier so they are a drop in fit. The QX56 I don't know what they have, I'm guessing the same axles as the titan which will not work unless you install the M205 diff from the titan
I think youre not giving 4x4s or awd enough credit. Ive taken my stock frontier sv on trails that look just like this and worse and been fine. Nice truck though, love seeing more frontiers taken out on the trails
Yup. I've had them for 35k miles now. the inner boots split after only a couple thousand miles. I haven't bothered to do anything about it since they're not the primary drive axle. So far I haven't done any super serious trails that would make me worried about breaking them
It is a custom pieced together system with a magnaflow muffler and a vibrant ultra quiet resonator on each bank before the muffler. it is one of the best sounding exhausts I've heard on the vq40. Currently contemplating doing headers
My 2013 sv 4x4 frontier which is stock has the same squeak when I hit bumps .. it was driving me nuts looking for the issue but now that your truck sounds the same I’m just gonna leave it hahaha
I can almost guarantee yours is the hood stops. Like i mentioned to him next time you're riding and can hear it pop your hood and see if it stops. If it is you can try to adjust them if that doesn't work you can get some kind of pads or something. Ive wondered if some of mine is the latch itself.
@@JohnnyRebLa hmmmm ok lemme seee I’ll check it out . My heater hose connection broke/cracked so I’m fixing that tonight or tomorrow and then I’ll test it out
@@VidadeAP I'm almost positive that's what your noise is, it's common in these. Our mail lady drives one, she always used to have kind of a sour look to her. I heard that familiar noise coming from her truck one day and asked what it was even though I was 99% sure I knew what it was. She told me she thought it was her shocks so I asked if I could try something if she could pop the hood and I adjusted the stops. I haven't heard it again and she smiles and waves every time she sees me even if I'm a half mile off so I assume it was the problem. I need some new ones but niSSan oem are like $30 for those damn things.
So i'm looking at these coming from an 80 series landcruiser. Where's the limits on this stock stuff for the frontier? are 35"s the limit for tire size?
@@TheShooter466 Could be done, but I wouldn't recommend more than 35s with the titan swap. Even with 33s I have slight rubbing on the fender liner. And that's because the longer control arms put the tires right in line with the fender on full lock
Hi ya'll, just want to add. I have a T-swapped lift at 4.75" upper has 1.75 clear to the coil bucket (close), I still need to minor trim the side fender well for the 35's. On a stock truck running 33's will be close, 35' will hit the top fender well bending your fender. 37's don't hit any bumps. 35s are 345x70x16. For no hassle install I went with 33s taller/wider 285x75x16-on my truck they look small. I did have to bend the tip of the backside bottom front fender well. With Nutcase' permission you can see my truck at ????? youtube channel. Nut don't answer I won't link, helping to expand the community. I wish more people posted before my swap install struggles (my channel is mostly about torque specs, parts involved and installing problem solving).
I can almost guarantee the noise is coming from the Spc uppers. The new forged ones like you have, have terrible bushings. Try jacking the front end up and pulling back and forth on the uca. That might be ur issue brother.
Yeah, I thought about those, but I had the same ones just not titan swapped on my last frontier and they did not make any noise. I have recently changed the upper ball joints and the bushings were still tight enough to hold the arms up. I should soon find out as I have a set of foxes on order
I got to give it to you for putting spacers on the rear the crawfish look just ain't cool to me. Talking about your arms i can't speak from experience but I've heard heims will make noise. Something else that squeaks like crazy and you will sware it's suspension related is the hood stops I've had it and made a new best friend with the mail lady by showing her what that noise was. Next time you're riding pop your hood and see if any squeaks go away. Some of the noise up front is probably your shackles, but on your hitch you can cut a wood wedge and hammer it in between your hitch and reciever. Edit:I just heard that familiar squeak so i know that's part of it but im pretty sure most of the clanking up front is those shackles. Did you say you are getting any contact with the bucket?
The hood isn't making noise here. Replaced the shocks with foxes and now all that's left making noise is the Drings on the bumper, hitch and possibly tailgate occasionally. No coil bucket contact
One of the most UNDERRATED pickup trucks of all time!!!! Good stuff bro.
Awesome video buddy keep the frontier content coming 😁😁😁
Nice place. Looks like it has some nice trails for beginners and skilled drivers
This is a fun trail. I did it in a 4Runner, but reverse from you. It was shortly after rain and man the water holes were big.

The trail looks like my daily road
nice truck man. just got a 23' pro4x.
What about titan struts?
Awesome video i have a 2018 pro4x that I'm building where did you get your front bumper
It is a shrockworks bumper. but I believe they went out of business recently
Try out wam bumpers

Where you from in va I live about 5 minutes from the trailhead
Qx80 axles? I'm piecing together my tswap pants and all the forums are saying to use qx56 axles

Man…..you better look out for Bigfoot out there…..lol
Hello fellow Virginian Nissan owner.
Stock exhaust or have you added a cat back? Good to see another Frontier out there!

35s on stock suspension will require major trimming to fit. Even 33s need some

Oh that's right, I forgot about the rest of the well clearance. Yes it will need to be trimmed
What size tires are you running? Do you think a t swapped xterra on 35’s could handle those side trails?
Im running 33s
Sick truck. I wanna titsn swap mine eventually. What headlights are on there and how well fo they work? Yhey look nice
They are Morimoto. I'd say they are a little overpriced given the high beam an isn't really good. But other than that they're good

Other than giant boulders i didn't see anything out there your little bull couldn't conquer.
