Really enjoyed this video. Thank you for the no bullshit start to the sim combat arena. I have been racing for years but now want to go flying. Looking forwards to watching more of your videos.
I've been trying to play this with my HTC Cosmos and keyboard for the past few days, which sucks. I have a HOTAS and pedals on the way but they're weeks away. So I've got plenty of time to absorb tutorials, like this. ;)
Waiting on my Wingwin Orion HOTAS and MFG Crosswinds :) , cant wait to get into DCS! Already have some modules picked out just trying to decide what to buy first!
Great video thank you very much. Looking to get into DCS for the first time after years of wanting to do it. Didn’t know where to start :) Just need a new PC :D

so confused how how TrackIR wors, if i turn my head to lok left i wont be looking at my monitor, so id need a triple monitor setup but then at that point i dont need TrackOR
My issue is in the FC3 F15. The Frogtfoot and the A4 dont give me this problem, but when i start turning the plane to intercept a bogey, I get hydraulic failures and engine fires. I dont know why.

It would be cool to have you in War Thunder you should consider dropping a cool hundo and getting a premium account and plane it really only takes a week of heavy grinding to reach top tier with a good premium plane and premium account
I'm late but spud got me into this game too. It was a fa18 carrier mission one. Which made me go buy a hotas and the su33 module. After I decided I really like carriers I got the fa18. Then I got into the hole and got loads of modules 😅

@@the15minutegamer you'll have love hate moments with War Thunder. there'll definitely be moments you get upset or don't understand how you died, or just get outclassed due to matchmaking, but when you play it with a few pals and have those precious moments where you dominate the airspace, it becomes truly special.
@@the15minutegamer I’ve been playing war thunder for about 4 years now. As the guy above said, It’s a love hate relationship. Very fun and immersive at times yet it can cause headaches. Sometimes the physics make no sense lol. But the main issue with War Thunder is that Gaijin (the developers) basically made this game pay to play. As you go higher in tiers, everything becomes way too expensive to the point where buying in game currency or upgrading to a premium is worth it
In order of realism/difficulty: War games like Battlefield/War Thunder/etc < Arma 3 < DCS...so, if you're wanting to fly and shoot stuff but want some less intense options, there you go.
While it's an option that stands out a lot from the others, GTA Online is pretty fun to fly in and get into dog fights in. You can also just race if that's something you're interested in.
I still struggle and I tend to leave the markers on targets so I can see the red marks. Or you can pause the simulation (it's in cheat menu) and like look a little
i hate to be that guy, but you went on for over 10 mins about how you watched other videos but you didnt explain much of anything about how to play. i looked at this video cuz i am brand new to dcs and trying to figure this stuff out is overwhelming, not to hear WHAT DCS is or how to get it. nor to hear about how many other videos you watched b4 you made this one. this isn't much of a guide as it is a promotion for the game
You can't really do a tutorial as such because ever plane, helicopter, ground vehicle is totally different. Just to fly the FA18 I spent about 40 hours, reading manuals, watching many peoples videos and doing the in game tutorials but I tried flying the f14 and crashed instantly 😂. So I think trying to point people in the direction of resources is the best course of action. I have videos on day the apache which are more tutorial based.
Agreed, the included tutorials are really, really shit! They need to be far more broken down into small chunks. There's a massive gap in this sector for easily digestible tutorials. I wish I had the time to create them as I learned myself. I'm still very much a noob, but even just getting off the ground, or learning to use a new weapon, was made painfully difficult in dcs. My advice to anyone, ignore the training missions and create your own. Learn to use the mission creator or find one's to download.
@@the15minutegamer I forgot to say, avoid the Russian aircraft and use the US ones to begin with. They're easier to fly, and you don't need to learn Russian or download a mod to convert them to English.

are u still playing
and yet i cant even figure out how to launch a missle took me 3 days to figure out how to get off the ground
The FA-18 is my first purchase in DCS too. A good 'all rounder' I think. Maybe the F14 Tomcat (Heatblur) next and some extra scenery.
F14 was mine next one, followed by a10, I picked up the f16 in this same but the training is a bit rubbish but it seems a easy plane to deal with
