Honestly, fair enough. Better than letting it rot on a pile and a lot of people won't go trough the hassle of setting something like this up themselves. Though the case could look a little better imo(the other fake ps5s look pretty good). But yeah, you can probably do this at 1/5 the price yourself trough FB marketplace.
Really not too bad of an idea....those HP 600 and 700 thin clients would be decent for something like this if they were slightly reworked to allow a full 75w GPU, and a better CPU cooler.
Looks great, I'll pass this time as just last week I received a thumb drive with Batocera loaded and it's running superbly on my laptop. Thanks for all your great content, as a regular shopper at AliExpress and someone who has recently got back into old school gaming your channel has become my go to for this kind of stuff. Keep on keeping on!
I brought the kin Hank super console pro two on your recommendation and it was better than the kin Hank super console pro I have just dropped a 55 UK pounds on this including taxes. I am so excited for playing and 64 with no stuttering trying cube for the first time on emulation I have always use retro arc. I appreciate you and thank you for your videos.
So the crappy ARM Chips are replaced by very old ITX (like) x86 mainboards. It's a improvement, but a bit disappointing that newer chips like the rk3588s are getting cheaper so slowly. The intel N100 would be even better off course.
They are now using old PC's and trying to make some money on this. 😂 This is a cool way to use old e-waste. If they also stop making those other crap it would help 🤣🤣
I think that this one is actually more buyable than the previous one of course not for the PS2 emulation although I think if you are into PS2 Visual Novels or other super light titles this one should be enough. The irony is that they are using an almost retro CPU because dual cores after Windows 10 support is over are no longer usable in any modern OS outside of Linux. The reason why this is better is of course somewhat improved performance, better case although they could have done better and okay quality controller. Actually the best part of this thing since it is using Batocera is you can remove a lot of the PS2 games and run instead their PC version though Wine, Steam or Proton plus you can install some native Linux apps via the Flatpak manager if possible. Like I can play NFS Hot Pursuit 2, GTA Vice City, No One Lives Forever 2 and FIFA 2003 on a weak Thin Client (1.2 GHz single core CPU) from 2011 and this is more solid in comparison. You can easily add to the list GTA San Andreas and Need for Speed Underground 2. This PC should be able to run most of the PS2 era PC games through Wine hardware wise. I personally find most of the systems redundant for example I can say as someone who played Atari 2600 as a child that not many of its games hold well while MS-DOS games have a lot of good games (some of them even shooters) that are more worth playing for a younger audience. There is a lot of these old systems that are there to take space and inflate the number of games.
For the price that is now on aliexpress i say it is an easy pick. I bought one for the same price that struggles a lot with n64 and psp( the classic shenanigans)
Chaos Chield, just found this game and it’s great hahah 👌 great video again! Just bought the r36s and rgb10x and then I really need to stop buying handhelds etc till next year. It’s getting out of hand 🤣😏👌 already bought 3 anbernics in a month time.
I didn't even THINK about using the sf2000 for doom. I mean I don't have one, cause I prefer stronger (more expensive ) devices, but that's crazy what cfw can do.
@@Patrick-bn5rp It really is. It's not the raw power of the sf2000 but just how much competence you get for it's price. Nothing feels cheap, the ips screen is small but great quality, all for the price of lunch out. With the multicore cfw Doom even plays well on it as well as Wolf3d, Pico-8 games and all the way up to GBA is extremely playable. I don't see how they make money!
That board is commonly used in embedded systems where the main board only has slots and everything else is on a plug-in card. That's essentially a full PC on a PCI-e card.
Pretty funny that they went as far as to make it look like small ps5 also with the game tiles on the home screen- but I’m all set for emulation and pc games with my awesome rog ally handheld pc 😄😄
If this thing can play f-zero on GameCube then it should have no problem upscaling Dreamcast and PlayStation 1 games to at least 2x. I would’ve liked you to test that just to see how it ran.
I have a previous generation KinHank home retro 'pc' by my bedside with the PS2-style controllers (which last several months on cheap AA batteries) and for the most part it runs everything up to PSP happily, however it's Naomi and Dreamcast performance leave much to be desired and worse it has no GC, PS2 or especially Saturn cores for emulation available, and presumably these systems would be unplayable. Software-wise it contain several ROMhacks and Japanese translations of games not released in the west and for that I absolutely love it, but the games I want to play most in my bed as opposed to my desktop PC are Saturn, namely Shining Force III scenarios 2 and 3 and premium disc and Nocturne in the Moonlight, aka Castlevania SOTN with extra levels and characters. I paid under $100usd for my current Super Famicom-style cased unit, I remember that. Do you feel the PS2, GC, Wii and especially Saturn emulation performance are worth the upgrade for a small bedside emu box over the previous generation? Thanks for this! Also, I couldn't agree more with hating the trend of ripping the music out of PSX and later games to save space. One of the first things I learned to do was how to replace ROMs on this unit and took out the neutered version of PSX Castlevania SOTN for a proper full music rip. Sad to see the new box follows the same trend.
I still play Xbox classic Amped 2 with my kids but the xbox has become quite loud. Is there a pre configured emulation pc like this that can run Amped 2 really well? Price doesn’t matter (much)
My kids and I had a similar issue, so we spent about $345 on a professionally modified original Xbox (Dave from retrogamebuilder) with the complete library and a 2 TB hard drive. Controllers, vinyl skins, everything pimped out. We are very happy with it
I just had one of these delivered today. All excited, only to find mine doesn't work. The box itself flashed a few colours, but no image appeared. And then it died. Bugger.
dude if we buy this it would be for the game collection so highlight the number of how many roms on each device u always skip past it and thats wots important pls
Anyone having issues with this resetting then cycling on and off? Did it to start with, then started running, no problems for 2 days and now doing it non stop. Thinking its the power supply
Someone took an old PC, 3D printed a case, uploaded Batocera and games, packaged it up and sold it.
Yup... 😂

I think it's a typo in the title (insane?) - it's interesting that the system actually seems to run a lot of titles well
I just bought it haha wonder how long it will take to get to Australia

Honestly seeing the GPU board turned into the MoBo is pretty awesome.
I would geek out if they converted an old 3dFX card into a console.
Not on the radar but I want one. Some old school games have a " je ne le sais quoi" factor that I can not explain 😉
