With the muffler and gas tank in place do you think a person would be successful shooting a rust proofing spray in to this area? I haven't crawled under my crew cab to look at this yet. ('11, MN truck)
Absolutely I think you can get to it from The outside of the frame holes. I need to take a quick vid now that I have it cut more open and exposed. The seam that lets water through the bottom is so small. It HAD to be dirt and off-road crud that built up in the area to cause it.
Damn! Hoping my 2016 doesnt have that going. Gonna have to crawl under and check it out. Sprayed a few cans if fluid film underneath and a couple inside the frame hopefully that will slow it down if its still a problem area.
I fr thought the thumbnail was a picture of a cave 😂

Had the rear sections rust out on my 09 Xterra. Thanks for posting this!!!
thanks for the info
All the D40 navaras especially in the UK had that issue. The bend at the frame rails literally would crack.
Both Parfinders end Narrvaros have rust problems. In Iceland they were bought back under warranty.

Toyotas of that era are the same but at least they gave you a new frame under recall.
