Love your work. Those nose cone bushings. Much easier to run a tap into them, and then once the tap has sufficient bite, to then tap them out with a socket extension.
Are the detent plugs missing right behind the nose cone joint or am I just not seeing them? You ought to get a new nose cone for when you pull it back out. Save your old hockey stick though. Those old nose cones get so worn out it's near impossible to seal them up at the hockey stick. That looked like a late bay pushing you installed up front. Seemed to work! I'd never thought about that retro fit.
