This scene really sums up Regina's character well. She wasn't into Aaron anymore, and when she goes up to talk to him about Cady at the Halloween party, you can see a huge moment of hesitation when he tells her he thinks Cady's cool/he invited her. I think Regina actually intended to say positive things about Cady to him at first with the expectation that he wouldn't be interested, but when she saw that he was, that's only when she decided she wanted him back.

Actually, this would be a good scene for her development as a character. People are complex and have many traits to their personality. Yes, she is mean, aggressive, confident and composed, but the events that occurred in the movie may have impacted her as a person, and people are not all black and white. There is a soft side to her and moments where she is sympathetic even with her cold character. Plus, she took Cady under her wing, and has grown to love her as a friend.
But bruh she's so high off of pain meds that she probably won't remember anything later
But it would make no sense for her to be hit by a bus then be best friends with Cady after doing all these little things and having a very explosive reaction. This isn’t Regina or her personality and it’s literally called Mean Girls. No one changes in a click of s finger so for them to put that in just throws everything off and is so far fetched
They included it in the musical, and it fits in really well!!

I think this scene should have been in the movie. It gives closure to both Cady's arc and Regina's character, and to their relationship. It was something I felt was missing from the final cut of the movie.
Also this scene doesn't make Regina look "softer" or "human" any more than the final cut does. She clearly displays humanity and vulnerability during other parts the film, as she is just a teenager with some issues like many other , not a one-dimensional bully. It doesn't make her look good, and it doesn't add anything to her character that wasn't also visible in other scenes. It is just a much needed final confrontation between the two girls.

You know this deleted scene makes me realize that Regina truly likes Cady as a friend and as a person. It makes me understand why she got back with Arron and makes her a complex human with fears and emotions. It makes her imperfect and I understand her at my level. Truly a shame this scene was deleted in the movie.

The only reason this scene seems strange is because there's no background music.
Love this scene and shame it was cut. No dramatic movie apologies were shared. You can tell they hold no hard feelings for one another from the way they casually talk and laugh at the old story part. We also see that Regina was not so perfect after all, being a normal teenage girl with her own worries.
Really, whoever wrote this scene is a writing genius.
The thing I liked about Regina in the movie was that she wasn't your everyday annoying spoiled girl. She had a personality and she also cared about her friends (sometimes lol), there were also some times in the movie where she was actually nice in a way (I guess lmao). Kinda sad that they didn't put this in the movie, it could have given her a more depth character.

I'm not devastated that they didn't put his scene in the final movie, but It is a nice little moment. It doesn't make Regina seem super nice or amazing, it's just nice to see Cady and Regina interact after the bud accident. It would be a nice way to wrap them up and show that they're not enemies now.

Regina is acting different because she's on meds, also I personally believe that getting betrayed by her friends, finding out that a close ally is actually a double agent, knowing explicitly that everybody hates her and seeing the kingdom she built over the years collapsing around her, getting hit by a bus and almost died can change a person more or less.
This scene adds a lot more depth to Regina's character, it would have been great in the final cut. She's always been a person that doesn't want anyone else to have something that was once her's, even since she was little. And she's fully self aware of it 😂

This was actually so necessary for the development of Regina by the end. Seems more satisfying and a better explanation of why she was able to make amends with Cady. It's not even a long scene either.
What a well-written scene, and it didn't even make the film. Tina Fey's crystalline perspective on the inner psyche of the '00s high schooler has become just as seminal as Fast Times at Ridgemont High was for the '70s or The Breakfast Club was for the '80s. Fey is a deserving successor to the teen flick legacy.

IMO this scene was badly needed. Regardless of how it makes Regina appear, it explains how Cady and Regina went from nonexistent terms to literally sharing a crown with no shock.
