This is a an excellent book, one everyone that wants to understand the truth of what motivated Columbus and real story of his discovery of America rather than the lies that are told about him constantly. Delaney has given us a rare gift.

She is absolutely wrong about self-fulfilling prophecy; that dismissive statement reveals her ignorance of eschatology. The few parts of Revelation that involve human actions are done by people hostile to the book, not the believers themselves.
Apocalyptic hysteria, or belief has been going on in the human psyche, probably since the first terrifying thunder and lightening storm. I remember that nutty hysteria around the Mayan calendar. It was so stupid. In Columbus' day it made more sense. The bubonic plague alone was so horrifying.
