As michae says further down you will be changing the software a lot until you get a version that works. The drivers are part of the Desktop Video software. So thats what you want. I have one of these usb sdi boxes an it had lost all video over two computers. I rolled back to 10.3 and plugged the box in and it did a firmware "update" things started working, but that software doesn't have webcam output (it is the older gui). I installed 10.8 and it did not see the device, with windows not starting the driver. I just went for 12.x as i already had it downloaded. Restarting and unplugging each time. It loaded the driver and did another firmware update on the box. Unplug amd reconnect and everything was working. Sdi video in, embedded audio to media express (the bmd capture software you downloaded) then tried with OBS and it came in with video and audio there too. I thought the usb lead was the problem as it repeatedly dropped the device, but with the same cables now its stable. I haven't checked the hdmi out yet but expect it works (to use as monitor for resolve/fusion) Good luck folks.
Unfortunately Blackmagic drivers are all bundled in with software, for products that continually evolve. The latest drivers almost never work with older products. You have to spend a whole day installing and uninstalling and rebooting until hopefully one works. Adding to the frustration, the software bundle might work on Win 7 but not Win 10. If the second hand Blackmagic you bought is faulty, you won't know because you don't know which version software SHOULD have worked. I know - I have two intensity shuttles, one I know is broken, the other bought second hand to replace it, and an Ultrastudio SDI that windows can 'see' and says drivers are ok, but OBS studio can't see because that needs the correct software bundle. Maybe it is easier for Mac users, they seem to be looked after better by Blackmagic.
puede ir a blackmagicdesign.com/support y navegar a la versión de video de escritorio 10.6 o 10.7. Por favor, descargue e instale. El controlador de este dispositivo ya está integrado. gracias.
Yes, we can use this for capturing and use it as a " sdi to hdmi " converter if needed. This video show the way to use that function ! Thanks for your commnent !
