Hey mate, love the review. I’ve got a 7’4 and have taken it out at 4-5ft Kirra and it went soo good. Hands in the barrel well, gets in so easy and will go top to bottom. However you are correct and 5ft day at the ally filling tide some steep sections some fat and you can draw the fastest rail carves and round houses. I do tend to stick to short boards but the beyond is soo much fun
Garett Barry hi mate. Yes I think it would be perfect for those type of waves. If you want a little shorter version you could also look at the Seaside. Stay safe 🤙

Hey mate, just wondering your thoughts on the durability of the seaside and beyond in LFT, I’ve been wanting one for a while but hearing mixed reviews on the the durability of the construction Thanks heaps Tom
Hi Tom, I had no dramas at all with the demo one I rode. It didn't even have a heal dent on it and now one of the coaches in my surf school has it and its still in great condition. Because of the shape of the swallow tail and where the leash plug is position I would make sure that the leash string is tied as close as it can be to the plug so the rail saver is working properly as to not damage the tail area with the urethane. Hope that helps. Wooly

Late to the Party but I was wondering what the difference might be between the LFT and Timbertek. I'm considering the 6'10" in Timbertek. A little more volume but 2 inches shorter than the 7 footer.. Your ride great man and I love your reviews. Was looking for an old Hypto review from you. How'd you continue to get along with the Glazer and shorter Seaside? Did you continue to ride either of them. Would be good to hear long term reviews on boards that stayed in your Quiver. Have a great day.
Hi mate. I don't think it would make too much of a difference between the 6'10" and 7'0" just buy the tech/look you prefer. I ended up moving my Seaside and Beyond onto one of my coaches from my surf school and I think I made a B IG mistake, I should have kept that one! The Glazer I only rode for the demo as I think I needed a slightly higher volumed one to the one I rode. I haven't had a standard Seaside as yet but I have one on order and will be doing a review once it lands in my hands. Haven't do a Hypto review but I did have a quiver of demo ones in my shop back about 5/6 years ago and I went ok with them but I wasn't ridding boards like that back then - maybe I need to revisit and review?? @@caseymccormack2000 totally agree with Wooly. A few liters wouldn't hurt but will only add more glide to Seaside and Beyond. You would probably get a better flow and pop from the LFT version. An interesting review. I have a 6' 8" S & B and it is great fun. The more I ride it the more comfortable and am with it. You are right though weight distribution by slight foot adjustment will get the best out of the board. One thing that disappoints me, and I know the S & B is designed for a quad, I wish it had the fifth centre fin slot so I could experiment with a thruster configuration. Does the swallow tail shape cause a problem with that idea Mr Wooly? (PS commented in the discussion section too)
Kieran O'Loughlin thanks mate. Yeah I think it would have enough room in the tail to run a tri fin set up. I think with the contours in the tail and tail shape, it’ll work better as a quad. I’m sure they played with all fin placements during the R&D with Rob. Good to hear you like it 🤙
Hi Kieran, do you still ride the S&B? Do you still like it? I'm thinking of getting one but I'm worried about the LFT construction. How is your board holding up?
Hi mate, If you are a complete beginner the larger ones should be fine - I always say that bigger IS better when you are learning. Maybe look at the 7'2" or 7'6". Its best to start on the longer high volume boards and work your way down. Hope that helps Wooly
For me it’s the Big Baron. I did like the S&B and if I was surfing a lot of point breaks it would be perfect but I find the BB fast and manoeuvrable so I can surf it more like a short board.
