I'm planning to travel to my motherland, as soon as the war finishes. And I am going to pack light, in fact, the majority of space will occupy my children's stuff😜 Heroyam slava🇺🇦
So far, I have been using the same suitcase since I was 5 years old. I am now 24, and it's still in good condition, although it is a little beat up. I might try a monos suitcase, when mine rips apart. As for my travel tips: I always put an extra pair of underwear in my carry on. Also, I pack very lightly and bring very few clothes. My suitcase rarely weights 15 kilos. I pack bar shampoo and conditioner. It makes it lighter.
Whatever liquid you can swap out for a solid, do it. I’ll pack bars for shampoo and conditioner, tide detergent sheets instead of pods/mini bottle, etc. If you’re planning on bringing lots of different liquids, decant them into contact lens cases. I do this for skincare and makeup when possible. With the travel picking back up again, but companies not always being able to keep up with demand, scheduling earlier flights gives you a higher chance of not having your flight cancelled due to delays.
Fellow Ukrainian here who has been a chronic over packer for YEARS. I’m definitely going to save this and come back to it for the next time I travel!! ❤
Compression cubes work very well, particularly for bulky items. There is no need to pack the pair of shoes together and you may find that if you separate sneakers, for example, you can tuck one in a crevasse along the side or spine of your bag more easily. I gave up on big toiletry bags and stick to small pouches or even ziplocks to stash dry toiletries more easily.
I'm traveling to Malawi next, for work, early in January! Definitely a completely different type of trip to yours, no date night looks required! But really looking forward to it!
✈️ watched this in the airport waiting to fly home from Stockholm. Just brought my backpack for 4 days, pretty proud given how cold it is! To be fair…I was meeting my husband who had extra space in his work (checked) bags for any goodies we picked up here
I purchased some Monos luggage nearly 2 years ago now and I love it. In fact, I just added to it with the Large Check in and the packing cubes. I use the luggage covers and the sponges that come with it to keep it clean. It looks great and holds up well. I'll be flying into DCA next. Enjoyed your packing tips. ✈️
I love that your sponsor is in brand with your own style, and that you're not only promoting something because they're giving you money, also I found that your video to be very helpful
Thanks so much for this video! I am going home to BC for Christmas and then taking a 5 day stopover in NYC on the way back to my new home in Europe - so this was a super helpful video with great timing for me! I now have the motivation and means to pack 😎 P.S. love the continued support for Ukraine 💙
I’m flying to Tasmania on Christmas Eve, so this video was very timely! I’ve only recently started using packing cubes, but I’m only going to use them for undies and t shirts this time, as I found most of my other clothes got a bit too crushed.✈️
✈San Antonio, TX. Love seeing how others pack semi-capsule wardrobes to deal with minimal carry-on travel. Did not know that Monos was based out of Vancouver, very cool.
✈️ I'm currently visiting family in Europe (from Australia) but winter time and travelling with two kids made for a giant suitcase! Gosh this makes me miss the days of one bag travel, haha
Going to Canada for the first time in May and these are SO HELPFUL as I start to plan the things I wanna bring! I've never been out of the USA before so I'm really excited!!!
Im going to NYFW to walk in a show and was mid panic and remembered seeing the title of this video. Feeling 100% calm now. After decluttering so many times Im hoping it makes it easier too. Thanks for this.
✈️ Lisbon, Barcelona & Paris this holiday 😍 I recently got their Monos carry-on plus & packing cubes and can't wait to use them on my trip. I will be taking smaller planes & hope the luggage will fit in the overhead bin. Thanks for your tips 😊
When we traveled on smaller planes, the airlines just valeted our carry-ons. They brought them right outside the airplane door when we got off the flight (no baggage claim). Just make sure there's nothing in it you want to use on the flight 😊
✈️ Your videos have been super helpful and realistic for me! Thank you for your insights into creating a more capsule type wardrobe and finding my true style and comfort. Planning to travel to see my sister in Michigan for he holidays and looking to trying several of your techniques! Have a great time in New York!
Love this! Thank you for sharing. Noticed the Slava Ukraini t-shirt. I've been looking for one but failed to find a good quality one. Would you be able to recommend one? Thank you. One thing I stopped packing is my umbrella. Most hotels and Air BnB seem to be happy to provide them. Saves a bit of room in my carry-on. I'm also from the same "carry-on only" tribe. ;) Wishing you a wonderful trip! Are you flying porter? ✈
✈ except 🚙 haha. My partner and I are road tripping to DC and Philly for the holiday weekend plus a couple of days. I still do one-bag packing, though. I've been keeping notes about what I pack and then what I actually use on a given trip so I can make adjustments to pack more efficiently.
I am not traveling any time soon (other than driving home for holiday), but adding the duffle & suitcase to my "wishlist waiting room" pinterest board.
I will be visiting New York in April and will be traveling with carry on only. Will be my first time in NY and traveling with only carryon. Your videos have been really helpful already! ✈️🗽
Hey! Christina your videos are too too satisfying and thank you so so much for this video and I love your videos so so much and I wish you reach 200K Subscribers very very soon!☺️✨💞
✈️ I love Monos! I'm currently on a two week trip in the Netherlands (from Toronto), and I only took their smaller carry on and a backpack from PKG. Would highly recommend both of those Canadian brands for frequent travellers!
✈ loved this!! I am a carry-on girl through and through for trips but I'm going to be spending an extended amount of time abroad this summer. I've been looking at Monos larger bags, so I'd love to hear your feedback on how well you held up with the carry-on!
I’m actually in New York atm and I would freeze to death with the clothes you choose.. especially today with wind and -13 degrees. But maybe it’s because I’m not really used to cold, I live in Italy and it rarely gets under 0 under a certain altitude
✈ Thanks for the tips! Love our Monos 🥰 Got the Carry-on for a 4-day wedding weekend in Massachusetts. We have always been overpacking kind of girls at our house. We decided to go carry-on only for this trip because we didn't want to take a chance on the airline losing our luggage with the clothes we would wear to the wedding in it. Monos did us right! Manuevered and handled great, and we even packed fancy floor length dresses in them! No issues. We're sold on carry-on only now, so much less hassle! Hoping to take another short trip to Massachusetts and a week-long to Costa Rica next year...with just carry-ons 😁
✈️ just this weekend my husband and I were talking and dreaming about our first trip to NYC. Hope to go in October to celebrate our 20 year wedding anniversary ❤️ thanks for the great packing info!
I don’t go anywhere. But it’s nice to see how you pack in case I decide I want to. I have three small dogs, that we would have to board. Which really isn’t a problem. I’m just not much of a traveler. I don’t like to fly. I went to Las Vegas a long long time ago. That’s about the only place I would like to go back to. But not in the winter. I have family out of state. But we would just drive there. In fact, we may be going on a trip next summer to visit them. I’m going to be a great grandmother. And the baby is due in July. I used to travel more when I was younger. I’m old and would rather just stay home.
I am going to Paris for New Year and watching some videos for ideas how to pack for winter and here you are😊 Thank you Christina for this video! Planning to make for my channel as well🙌
Carry-on only here too! 👋🏼 I have a wknd trip to Portland coming up, but planning for two weeks in Spain later next year. Packing light for that trip is a challenge I’m weirdly looking forward to. ETA ✈️
Going to my friend’s wedding in New Orleans in the new year ✈️ majorly looking forward to it, I’ve never been! This was a perfect video for me right now because I’m trying to avoid checked luggage 😵💫
✈️ Just found your channel! I typically carry on as well and have been using my Rimowa for the last 8 years. I have the large checked suitcase from Monos and have loved it for longer trips/when I’m moving items from CA-TX. My next trip is to Kauai.
I have a trip coming up to Mexico in a few months, so excited! Did you have any issues being able to bring the Monos carry on plus a carry on? I’ve been looking at the regular one for a few months now.
Very informative. I have gotten pretty good at packing because I have spent years working overseas, mostly the Middle East. If there is anyway I can avoid checking a bag, I’ll do it. I can get a lot in a carry on and backpack. I have not used packing cubes, and have been planning on picking some up. No plans on big trips right now. I’ll be visiting family on the east coast, and maybe a cruise to the Caribbean this summer. Would love to see a New York video. Have a great holiday!🛫
I am leaving for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico day after tomorrow! So beachy, resorty clothes, lots of linen. But I do have a little side trip to Mexico City so will need to take some dressier outfits than what I would normally take just to the beach

🛫 The two long flights for me in 2023 will be to South Korea in May (where we lived for three years) & Chicago (with stops in Detroit, Boston & New York) in November. My husband travels in his job and as I am retired now I can go with. ✈️ Probably will we go to London too, but that is a short flight from where I live in South of Sweden, so just on the maybe list but we usually go there once a year or so… 🛬
Hey Christina! I think about traveling Canada for 3- 6 month after my bachelor's degree. Can you recommend some other Canadian UA-camrs and share your tips (especially for Toronto bc you live there)?
✈️my last trip was to denmark and since i live in germany i just went by car, full packed with way too much stuff. It almost felt like moving because i had the feeling to bring almost everything i own:D
Would love a video on how you manage extra inventory that comes from trying different brands. Feel like you had a very similar video just a few months ago where you also had a new carry on/packing cubes etc... Do you pass these items on or are some of them sent back if you don't want to keep them long term?
Yes! Some things I pass on, declutter old stuff to replace with new stuff I get, or I sell my old things - the suitcase from the old video I bought myself so I passed it onto a family member since I don’t need two carry ons!
Love what you chose to pack! Super useful. Just curious which airline you flew on? I heard Air Canada are sticklers with the carry on size, so curious if the Monos meets their size requirements.
Hi Christina! New to your channel, have been binging! (sorry not sorry). Can you share where did you get your laptop case? I found one from Shinola that's similar but not the same. Thanks for the great content!
