+Wendy Lim thats just too bias...you have to be considerate because the other party might think the same to your accent...just because youre used to hearing your accent doesnt make it better than the other
+Yawina Rada (Aniway) hehe.. dont know why.. same thing also.. but they are sweet couple .. I'm missing my wife after watching this vid... this is wonderful.
You can tell his a filipino based on his accent. When I'm calling on a toll free number I can tell right away if its a filipino on the other line or not based on the accent itself. Filipino's are more precise on their dictions and pronunciations.
it should be, because some people in the philippines will judge you because of your accent and pronunciation.. Unlike other countries who wouldn't care as long as they understand you 😭
You guys are cute. ahahah . Destiny talaga. Suggest lang po, you can add "annotations or subtitle for the words used :) Because their are words that are new to others and can't be cope up just by hearing it for the first time (especially on british/australan vocabulary words).
As a Portuguese-Brazilian, with Portuguese father and German-Japanese mother, married with an Italian wife and having lived in London, after I had learned American English, I quite often get confused with the terms... hahahhaha Very nice video, though... Congrats! :D
Oh, our house has 1st floor, 2nd floor and Ground floor I'm confused now, for me Ground floor is the Sub of First floor, sometimes I called it Basement, would you please tell me, coz in a Mall , 168 Mall in Divisoria manila, they have Ground floor and 1st floor, so its maybe different
This has been the most fun and charming video I have seen in ages! I have spent time in the Philippines, and I must say, the husband's speech seems so perfect compared to most of his fellow citizens I ever spoke to. I think he has spent a long time in the US, or around Americans. And the charming wife was so cute! i once had a Rhodesian wife. She died some time ago. But I remember our conversations about the dialects. It was so fun! So I understood you both very well. The exceptions being a few particular Australian slang terms. So, thanks for the memories, and the fun.
it's actually Aussie slangs that she used to some other terms like sunnies, sanga. snags etc... Other slang words are really hard to understand but sounds cool.
seriously, this two makes a person watching them smile, they are so cute i like them :)..they do really make me smile and happy...(i am contaminated by them with a smile and being happy by watching them hahaha) thank u to both of u..ur such a cute couple :)
Nakakaaliw kayong dalawang panoorin, talaga namang humans speak a lot of languages but love only speaks one language for the couple who loves each other.
haha... that's a good one pare. Well in general, True love has a universal language. Regardless of race, kung pag-ibig na ang tumama, talagang sapul yan. lol
I think your pronunciation depends in what region you came from in the Philippines. Some Filipinos speaks english with their native dialect accent and some speaks with american accent. Some can understand english very well but cannot speak it so well. We Filipinos can easily learn or adapt to any accents in the world i guess. ^^ I also wish to be fluent in english that's why i applied in a call center company just to develop my english speaking skills and i'm gonna start my training next week already. Wish me luck! ^_^
I live in Australia for about 6 years now, still couldn't understand some of the aussie slangs. Still couldn't adapt their accent either. There were times that I've been corrected by my coworker due to my pronouncation of certain word. I wonder could that be an Aussie pride? Coz I'm using my Filipino-Americanized english?? 😂😂😂
I'm half filipina and half british so although some of the australian words are different I use a mixture of filipino english and some australian words which is quite fun tbh haha
Dragoslav War 1) technically on not a woman I'm still a child congrats you insulted a child and 2) I'm really confused on what you're actually talking about
you both are crazy you dont need to be a good looking the important of all is our heart When we die we are all the same if you are bad you will going to hell and if it's not you can go the kingdom of heaven.
wow so amazing since I'm working in a call center it's kind a hard to understand the Australian accent but one thing I really love on their attitude is a word patient unlike to Americans 😁😁😁 peace Americans... well anyway I'm happy to watched this vid Buti pa kayo may Forever 😢😢😢..
when i moved to Singapore i got confused with this during my first few years 😂, even with the spelling hahaha, now i have adjusted very well and practice British English and singlish hahaha
Singlish is like ... No lah. I wan't to go to Clark Quay lah. Hehehe. I just used to hear such accent to the locals there everytime I visit Singapore. But Singaporean are great in terms of discipline and in embracing quality education.
ThatFabieEve yes im a bit confused at first too when my co worker said just throw it in a trash bin( dust bin..the way he pronounced) hahahah coz in filipino we called it trash can and also the brinjal but in filipino we called it eggplant.
I love watching you two! I like the way you react at your wife whenever she said it in different way.. hahaha! Good luck guys.. you two are a lovely couple. do more videos like this!
You guys are the cutest! I am a Filipino Australian and grew up in Australia but have filipino friends and family so could totally relate to all of these sayings
This, legit, came out in our Puposive Communication exam. I've seen this video last year. should've rewatched it. Anyway, thank you. This is actually really important.
Wow. I just like listening and learning the big difference between American English/Filipino English and Australian/British English. Thanks guys for sharing. I think you are a cute, aersome couple too! :)
She said her English words are based off of british English but I can confirm that i have lived in britain since birth and I havn't heard of half of them 😂😂. Still entertaining though!
Watching this makes me miss my Australian cousins. We're filipino, but i grew up in canada and my cousins were born and raised in Australia, so It was fun comparing our slangs and accents! :)
In average Philippine English, unstressed Ts in between vowel sounds aren't pronounced as soft ones. Like for "tomato", Filipinos say it as /toh-may-toh/ instead of /tuh-may-doe/; for "elevator", /ele-VAY-tohr/ instead of /E-le-VAY-duhr/; and for "indicator", /in-decay-tohr/ instead of /in-decay-duhr/. Also, "soda" and "potluck" aren't commonly used; rather, we use "softdrink" and "bring your own" (but not "BYO") likewise. "Aunt" is never /aent/. For "oregano", I think /o-re-GUH-no/ is more common than /o-REH-ga-no/ here, but people do tend to switch the syllable to stress on on many English words anyway.
I agree with you on most points, except potluck (it's definitely potluck, never heard byo in manila) and oregano. Joseph pronounced oregano as most Filipinos would.
+rhoda I'm a Filipino but idk, it's the first time I heard the word "potluck". Tbh I had to google "byo" to match up the meaning. As for "oregano", I was referring to the stresses. From what I hear from people here, it's the "ga" part that they stress usually, not the "re" part.
I'm a Filipino too, and I grew up in the Philippines. Potluck in my experience has been used by everyone from elementary school to the work environment, lol. Also, yes, oregano is always stressed at the "re" part by most Filipinos, in the same way that the "ri" in "origami" is stressed....
Philippine is not considered a real English speaking country. Here are seven real English speaking country. U.S, U.K, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and South Africa. Have a nice day!!
thats where you're wrong, its not very clear and native english speakers cannot understand all "filipino english" because of the accent. you just think you're saying it right and clear. and one more thing, slang is not even what you think it is. you are prolly referring to accent not slang.
I just realized that Australians speak British accent wihich is why me as an Indian Pinoy can so much relate and can truly speak British type English so easily and correctly..
I can relate you guys and made me smile while watching you from the start to the end of this video,it reminds me of my fiance he is bitish but he based in Australia..Thank you for sharing it made my day ☺😁
I want to learn more Filipino and Aussie language at the same time. :-) I'm a Filipino but now, Australian. Living in Australia with my whole family. I'm glad to met you both.
In the Philippines, I commonly hear people say 'softdrinks' more than 'soda'
no, they would say. "soupdrinks" lol! :)))
Phuc Yu It's not "strange terms". It's simply cultural difference. Choose the right word, pls
sopdrink
in uk we just say coke even though its pepsi
Seoul Mate that's true, it's softdrink in Philly not soda. Soda's more of an American way of saying it.
takte, di na ako pupunta ng ibang lugar! ang hirap, mawawala ako hahahahaha 😂😂
Hahahahahaha
snoisnemid HAHAHAHAHAHAHQHHAHAQHAHQHAHAHHAHAHAHA
snoisnemid you made me like you 💏

You can tell his a filipino based on his accent. When I'm calling on a toll free number I can tell right away if its a filipino on the other line or not based on the accent itself. Filipino's are more precise on their dictions and pronunciations.

"British English, the correct English" - except that Australian's based on Cockney whereas Filipino's based on standard American.
Incorrect depends what part of Australia they are from. I'm from South Australia and it's based on British English
I reckon she was speaking standard informal Australian English.
i agree she speak british
it's actually Aussie slangs that she used to some other terms like sunnies, sanga. snags etc... Other slang words are really hard to understand but sounds cool.
we are not in American standard

Depends which if US - some say pop, others soda.
This, legit, came out in our Puposive Communication exam. I've seen this video last year. should've rewatched it. Anyway, thank you. This is actually really important.
Your wife have a very attractive presence.... not sure if that is the proper description.

Philippine is not considered a real English speaking country.
Here are seven real English speaking country. U.S, U.K, Canada, Australia, New Zealand,
Ireland, and South Africa. Have a nice day!!
And our English is very clear, not slang or garbled ^--^
thats where you're wrong, its not very clear and native english speakers cannot understand all "filipino english" because of the accent. you just think you're saying it right and clear. and one more thing, slang is not even what you think it is. you are prolly referring to accent not slang.
No,i certainly meant slang.and sometimes you're eating your words.
slang are informal words and not, in any way, related to the way you speak or say words
