Big fan of the podcast, and thanks for the shout out! Much appreciated. Matt was a very strong competitor, and that match against him was definitely a grind as we for sure both wanted to get into the Top 8. Small correction on the final parts of our G3. Matt actually had 3 Ice Blocks, however I had Queen, Smee, Gaston, and Pete. So there was only so much he could trade into while also getting help from Big Sisu. I thought I threw the game because I realized there was a line for me to have quested to 20 the turn before. Whew* Super close call from this match, and lots of stories from the entire event.
Unpopular opinion: I like having no intentional draws. I do agree with you guys that if it’s in the rules then they should keep it. But I hope they do change it in the future because imagine watching a stream for the last round and everyone just draws. That’s not competitive at all. If you really are that guy/girl. Then play your game 😂
I agree. This is Cesar (Zetnus) speaking and I also don't really mind not having the splits but also understand why people do it. Sometimes it's better especially with big prizing on the line to just guarantee that you are in Vs. Risking getting knocked out and that's why a majority of people split.
The DQing was insane to me, still to this day I don’t understand. We started hearing about the DQs late Saturday and the whole day the side events were so unmonitored. I was sitting with my friend at an empty table and they came to give us promos and packs, even though we weren’t playing. We told them we weren’t apart of the event, and they took the stuff back. How many people just sat at empty seats and left with packs and promos they didn’t sign up for. But then the DQs happened Saturday and Sunday, the judges were like sharks all day. They seemed to hover over the tables 24/7. So I feel like more happened than what is known.
100% there were probably more DQs but that was one of the more surprising ones that happened in the main event. I think in the main event alone it was like 5 DQs. I think they shoulda just implemented a prize wall and to encourage people to play more games. But hopefully ravensburger listens to feedback and improves 🙏
