Good for you George - protect your privacy. We love your videos and seeing what you want us to see, but nobody has a right to seek you out and be a nuisance.
It is always amazing to see how skilled craftsmen make their jobs look so easy when in reality they are difficult and require a lot of precision. In terms of not being able to show the outside of the building because people don’t have the common sense or courtesy not to show up at the house, it is a sad state of affairs. It has always baffled me how people think coming to a strangers house is in anyway appropriate. As always George, your videos are entertaining and informative.
Having your fridge/freezer and washing machine hidden in cupboards is novel to me. Where I live, people don’t do that. I really like the bright white room and how light and airy it looks.
No joke- people can be crazy. I had a channel with only 300 subs and I had someone stalking me so much that I caught them on my home security cameras (day and night) multiple times. I had to have my entire home/property fully covered. Stay safe 💗
Looking good! Your contractors are doing such a skilled job - I'm glad that you're naming them and giving them credit. As for the weirdos, I'm always astounded that weirdos have no clue that they're weird. Stay safe, get cameras.
The transformation is so beautiful. I adore the green accent color. That is just the most soothing green. The skylights really just give the room the brightness it needed.
Altho I don’t have a black kitchen, I did stain my stairs to the basement a dark brown & they show every speck of dirt. I would never recommend a dark work space for that reason alone! I might add some of that green paint to the cabinets or to the door leading out of the kitchen, but white overall is the way to go in this place, for sure!
It doesn’t matter what this old building throws at you because Sean Paul is an absolute magician. I’ve never seen anyone work so efficiently and handle so many different problems with ease. Money is always a problem which is why it’s great to have a stellar contractor who does it right the first time! The house looks very beautiful and cheery but I would suggest not falling back on painting a feature wall in every room but rather going crazy and painting a whole room (your office) a nice bright colour. Cheers George!
Always enthralling seeing true workmen (or women) doing their crafting. Hopefully these guys or girls. Get the increased profile, and professional rewards.
Your videos are one of those that gets me to immediately click on them. Really interesting to see the building taken down to the bones and built up again.
George, you must be absolutely over the Moon with you new venture. It really looks stunning and to have guys on hand to carry out the renovation to such a high standard is a big bonus. Now time to sit back and enjoy and look forward to the nest phase. 🎉 well done.
I'm really happy with the job they've done! Done it to such a high standard and so quickly. Definitely looking forward to getting on with the next phase. 😎
“Lick of paint”…. Nicely said George…. I enjoy your videos when they pop up on my notifications…..your neighbors should be happy to have you… see u in the next one… be well…
You couldn't have chosen a better color for the accent wall. Everything looks wonderful. So sorry to hear about the roof and boiler but better to find out now rather than later. I am happy for you that you found such skilled workmen throughout this build that you can trust. Take care George. ✌️
You've lucked out with your tradesmen, George, they're amazing! Only 15 mins to build a whole kitchen?! LOL! Seriously, though, John Paul and his comrades have done a sterling job, and it's been fascinating to watch their process.
Beautiful! I am impressed with the contractor you featured. They are so meticulous and so thorough with all the phases of the project. I wish I could find a similar contractor where I live!!!!❤
Respect for the gentlemen who are installing your kitchen! WOW! Bravo for their amazing work. I wish I could find such professional workers here in this remote corner of France!
I had a roof light in my ensuite master bathroom. It was fabulous! I didn't need to turn on a light during the day. The morning light gradually lit the bedroom and it was a lovely way to awaken. When it snowed, the snow was really pretty on the glass. It never leaked or had any problems. When I buy my next house, I want another roof light/skylight.
loving the kitchen setup, loving the colors. also, totally understand you are more private now, nobody wants weird strangers knocking on the door. not even the weirdos we know xD also also: highly recommend a soft lavender or blue color for the bedroom, it helps the brain to calm down after a tiring day.
To make it clearer for everyone: It's like a house with a "walk-out basement" that you see a lot in hilly areas. It's split horizontally. George's part of the house is the uphill part, the other owner's part is in the "basement" down the slope. They both have ground level entrances.
You seem to like earthy tones (as do I ) and I adore an earthy clay color for an accent wall. Enough color in it to make it pop, yet muted enough (like your sage) to not hit you over the head. Over here we call them New Mexico colors because they take their tones from the sunset sky over the mountains and desert.
Your saving this building, and I know it is a lot of $$ and hard work, but to think a place built so long ago getting new life breathed into it is just phenomenal. Your crew has done a fabulous job with your vision of what this place can be. Looking forward to the next phase!
The green was a great choice for the feature wall. It really pops against the white. The ketchup paint is a definite no-go for me. Strong colours can be overwhelming. Plus people tend to tire of them very easily. Proceed with caution!
I totally agree the green is sublime and calming and accents the green outside. I also agree about the ketchup color. It is nice for a season, but very tiring even as an accent. Plus it clashes with the color of your hair. I can understand wanting a more vibrant color for your office, but really give it some thought. With that being said, if it truly makes you happy, do it.
It's looking so cozy and warm, George. You've made some nice design choices. I'm sorry to hear about the roof. I hope the crying stops soon and you can retire with your all of your cats! 🐾🐾 Be well!
I watch quite a few English home renovation shows - I particularly like the English ones because unlike my country (New Zealand), the English still utilise some very old buildings which we simply do not have. It is true too, that every one seems to have some hidden disaster just waiting to be discovered that doubles the budget and the time needed for the job. I hope your disaster under the tiles is not too major. I totally agree with your choice of not revealing your home's location. For anyone that is a sensible decision, with your background it's essential. Great video and looking forward to the next one. 😎
To All of the team mates, and individuals who had a hand in this;Wow,and Well Done ! It looks so much brighter and spacious now.A nice little 'drop-leaf' table you can set against the wall, and pull out for use, like doing laundry, will really set well.Your color choices really do make it warm and airy looking.(Nobody better harm a hair on your head or a quarter Million of us will hunt them down!)
I love the green wall. It would not look the same if it was the whole room. You chose wisely! I am so impressed with how this is turning out. Yes, weirdos are everywhere. Get cameras. Be safe. Can not wait for the next installment. See you in the next one.
Looking forward to that "how to get 6 pack abs" vid and Sombrero sponsor 😂 so cool that the fridge is literally apart of the kitchen cabinetry. Love that you included Aidyn's lovely singing 🤭
Watching your videos is like watching my dreams coming true for someone else, haha. I'm so happy for you, George! The appartament looks amazing and oh boy, the team working on it is extremely professional, kudos to them!
It looks amazing, what a fantastic job. I cannot imagine ANYONE wanting to kill you George, but you’re quite right to be careful about what you share online. I really enjoy your humour, calm demeanour and the relaxing videos you create. I do love a transformation.
Sean Paul did all the floors and kitchen in one day?! I'm amazed at how quickly the team has worked and completely transformed the place. I feel like tradies are so slow in Australia!
Wow George, it is all so spacious, bright and airy! Love the fresh green feature wall and think tomato would really pop in another room. If you don’t like it you can always paint over it. Really a top transformation job. Ouch to the roof and boiler but once you do those, your house will pretty much be future proof. Junior will approve of her new home, I’m sure
Gorgeous! I absolutely love the green wall. You have great taste! I find that very strange that a stranger would just show up at your house 😂 scary but just weird. Glad you are protecting your privacy more.
"Secret extra surprise phase" of the renovation! Woo hoo! Those are always the best and guaranteed to make you cry the most. I really like the length of these videos, long enough to show a substantial progress, but not featuring every single nail.
Very nice, George. Can't wait to see the final result with all the furnishings and decor. On another note, I just have to say that I particularly enjoy your 'voice-overs'. You have a very calm, restful voice and nice subtle sense of humor. I think you'd do well as a voice over artist on small documentaries. It's something I did when I was younger. Anyway, looking forward to more of the same.
I agree, too - your voice could lend itself to several mediums. I've done voice-over work with Sony Interactive (video games) and Atari among several other companies. A good book to get you started is called, There is Money Where Your Mouth Is' by Elaine Clark. My first audition was for Sony - I got the gig and it paid $700 per hour and I was there for 2 hours doing a French-Canadian snow-boarding chick. But that was 20+ years ago.
I love everything about this, and about you and Ginger, you are loving my dream!:) and love your idea of retiring in the woods with waaaay more than 23 cats!!! I want a Huge heated cozy barn full of cats that need a safe warm place to call home and a little cozy cottage right next to it, where I can cuddle up with them all the time! That would be like winning the lottery for me!!
Looking great mate! You should start your videos "Coming to you from an undisclosed location..." lol... very impressed with Sean Paul's work, total pro and makes the house look great! Looking forward to boring unexpected phase 2! :) Darryn
I've been a subscriber for a year and really enjoy your channel. Your narrative delivery & authenticity is outstanding. This renovation of your new place has been so fun to watch. Agree with others the workmanship here has been exceptional. The green accent wall in the living room is beautiful, well done! Agree with others to consider Heinz red as an accent wall in your study. It would bring warmth & interest & is a great color for someone like yourself that is highly creative. Enjoy the end results thus far George, you deserve it!
Absolutely beautiful!. Can you send your contractors to the States? Please!! I can't wait to see the next phase. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous home.
so happy for you! i loveeee the feature walls in every room idea, pick shades that make you happy, that you won’t get sick of, and that look good in both natural & artificial light!
Love the green! Your contractor is doing a great job. I like his attention to detail. The painter sure has a steady hand. Great job, I look forward to seeing more of your renovations after you look at your bank account, cry, and save some more money. (Just kidding, don’t want you to cry!) Thanks for sharing! ~Dana
What a pretty little kitchen. Too bad Sean Paul and his crew do not live in California, because I would hire them in a minute! I love your content and eagerly wait for more.
Great renovation so far! You must be so pleased to have such great builders. They really are outstanding. You obviously work well together. Hope you can soon get the money together to complete it all.
You've got such a good taste. My "ASMR" is watching someone paint rooms too; and of course people pressure washing pools or other big, dirty surfaces. And tbh, listening to your calm voice-over while watching him paint the wall in such a beautiful colour makes this video even more soothing. 🤩

Yes, Jr. has chosen to share your life with the presumption of being an adored, only cat! 🐈👑
Ha ha, love your sense of humour! I’m sure Junior would love a couple of friends but 23?? 😄 (Am already subscribed)
Good for you George - protect your privacy. We love your videos and seeing what you want us to see, but nobody has a right to seek you out and be a nuisance.
Im super confused when you say this is an upstairs flat, does that mean the bottom unit is completely submerged by earth on the backside?
It is always amazing to see how skilled craftsmen make their jobs look so easy when in reality they are difficult and require a lot of precision. it's nice to see tradesman who take pride in what they do
Exactly this 👏
The transformation is so beautiful. I adore the green accent color. That is just the most soothing green. The skylights really just give the room the brightness it needed.
Paint your rooms in the colors that make you happy and don’t worry about what someone else thinks.
❤
As black kitchen owner, you made the right choice. Also black shows dirt really really well.
Altho I don’t have a black kitchen, I did stain my stairs to the basement a dark brown & they show every speck of dirt. I would never recommend a dark work space for that reason alone! Love watching the workmen as it looks like a ballet...no wasted movements.
Your videos are one of those that gets me to immediately click on them. Really interesting to see the building taken down to the bones and built up again.
Cheers Viktor! Appreciate it. And likewise, I've quite enjoyed seeing the process myself haha.

Would Sean Paul be interested in coming to Florida and re-doing my kitchen in 15 minutes'?? I'll buy dinner. Just asking.
@@PatchyWe went with Lick this year, partly because you can order sample squares that you can move around to check the light in different places. 👍
The expertise these guys work with is a joy to watch.
I find it satisfying when a sponsor makes sense in the video
The old kitchen feels more cozy, the new one looks modern, both are good 👍
Glad you went with white kitchen & marble worktops, same as mine 😂
Sean (Shaun?) Paul and his team are so graceful and efficient in their work it's beautiful to watch.
Love the counters/worktops, good choice. They're not something that will date quickly unlike that horrible brown quartz that Americans seem to like
Me, softly sobbing at the sight of a pro cutting in without tape, and knowing I’ll never be that good. 😭
Amazing guys. Being so efficient, heavy lifting and artistic they are.
This is a beautiful space, and I'm so impressed with the quality of work from your builders!
I love how the fridge is "hidden" in the cabinetry. That's not something that we typically do in American kitchens. Looks really nice!
These are Known as integrated appliances, washing machines/fridge/dishwasher/ can all be built-in.
Mike: that's not really true! I've seen lots of kitchens with integrated appliances!
You couldn't have chosen a better color for the accent wall. Everything looks wonderful. So sorry to hear about the roof and boiler but better to find out now rather than later. I am happy for you that you found such skilled workmen throughout this build that you can trust. Take care George. ✌️
Those guys are really good Craftsmen. looks amazing
