Good for you George - protect your privacy. We love your videos and seeing what you want us to see, but nobody has a right to seek you out and be a nuisance.
Looking good! Your contractors are doing such a skilled job - I'm glad that you're naming them and giving them credit. As for the weirdos, I'm always astounded that weirdos have no clue that they're weird. Stay safe, get cameras.
Your videos are one of those that gets me to immediately click on them. Really interesting to see the building taken down to the bones and built up again.
Having your fridge/freezer and washing machine hidden in cupboards is novel to me. Where I live, people don’t do that. I really like the bright white room and how light and airy it looks.
Altho I don’t have a black kitchen, I did stain my stairs to the basement a dark brown & they show every speck of dirt. I would never recommend a dark work space for that reason alone! I might add some of that green paint to the cabinets or to the door leading out of the kitchen, but white overall is the way to go in this place, for sure!
It is always amazing to see how skilled craftsmen make their jobs look so easy when in reality they are difficult and require a lot of precision. In terms of not being able to show the outside of the building because people don’t have the common sense or courtesy not to show up at the house, it is a sad state of affairs. It has always baffled me how people think coming to a strangers house is in anyway appropriate. As always George, your videos are entertaining and informative.
To make it clearer for everyone: It's like a house with a "walk-out basement" that you see a lot in hilly areas. It's split horizontally. George's part of the house is the uphill part, the other owner's part is in the "basement" down the slope. They both have ground level entrances.
You've lucked out with your tradesmen, George, they're amazing! Only 15 mins to build a whole kitchen?! LOL! Seriously, though, John Paul and his comrades have done a sterling job, and it's been fascinating to watch their process.
You couldn't have chosen a better color for the accent wall. Everything looks wonderful. So sorry to hear about the roof and boiler but better to find out now rather than later. I am happy for you that you found such skilled workmen throughout this build that you can trust. Take care George. ✌️
No joke- people can be crazy. I had a channel with only 300 subs and I had someone stalking me so much that I caught them on my home security cameras (day and night) multiple times. I had to have my entire home/property fully covered. Stay safe 💗
The green was a great choice for the feature wall. It really pops against the white. The ketchup paint is a definite no-go for me. Strong colours can be overwhelming. Plus people tend to tire of them very easily. Proceed with caution!
I totally agree the green is sublime and calming and accents the green outside. I also agree about the ketchup color. It is nice for a season, but very tiring even as an accent. Plus it clashes with the color of your hair. I can understand wanting a more vibrant color for your office, but really give it some thought. With that being said, if it truly makes you happy, do it.
loving the kitchen setup, loving the colors. also, totally understand you are more private now, nobody wants weird strangers knocking on the door. not even the weirdos we know xD also also: highly recommend a soft lavender or blue color for the bedroom, it helps the brain to calm down after a tiring day.
It's looking so cozy and warm, George. You've made some nice design choices. I'm sorry to hear about the roof. I hope the crying stops soon and you can retire with your all of your cats! 🐾🐾 Be well!
I watch quite a few English home renovation shows - I particularly like the English ones because unlike my country (New Zealand), the English still utilise some very old buildings which we simply do not have. It is true too, that every one seems to have some hidden disaster just waiting to be discovered that doubles the budget and the time needed for the job. I hope your disaster under the tiles is not too major. I totally agree with your choice of not revealing your home's location. For anyone that is a sensible decision, with your background it's essential. Great video and looking forward to the next one. 😎
Beautiful! I am impressed with the contractor you featured. They are so meticulous and so thorough with all the phases of the project. I wish I could find a similar contractor where I live!!!!❤
Your saving this building, and I know it is a lot of $$ and hard work, but to think a place built so long ago getting new life breathed into it is just phenomenal. Your crew has done a fabulous job with your vision of what this place can be. Looking forward to the next phase!
To All of the team mates, and individuals who had a hand in this;Wow,and Well Done ! It looks so much brighter and spacious now.A nice little 'drop-leaf' table you can set against the wall, and pull out for use, like doing laundry, will really set well.Your color choices really do make it warm and airy looking.(Nobody better harm a hair on your head or a quarter Million of us will hunt them down!)
I love everything about this, and about you and Ginger, you are loving my dream!:) and love your idea of retiring in the woods with waaaay more than 23 cats!!! I want a Huge heated cozy barn full of cats that need a safe warm place to call home and a little cozy cottage right next to it, where I can cuddle up with them all the time! That would be like winning the lottery for me!!
Respect for the gentlemen who are installing your kitchen! WOW! Bravo for their amazing work. I wish I could find such professional workers here in this remote corner of France!
Watching your videos is like watching my dreams coming true for someone else, haha. I'm so happy for you, George! The appartament looks amazing and oh boy, the team working on it is extremely professional, kudos to them!
I love the green wall. It would not look the same if it was the whole room. You chose wisely! I am so impressed with how this is turning out. Yes, weirdos are everywhere. Get cameras. Be safe. Can not wait for the next installment. See you in the next one.
Always enthralling seeing true workmen (or women) doing their crafting. Hopefully these guys or girls. Get the increased profile, and professional rewards.
Very nice, George. Can't wait to see the final result with all the furnishings and decor. On another note, I just have to say that I particularly enjoy your 'voice-overs'. You have a very calm, restful voice and nice subtle sense of humor. I think you'd do well as a voice over artist on small documentaries. It's something I did when I was younger. Anyway, looking forward to more of the same.
I agree, too - your voice could lend itself to several mediums. I've done voice-over work with Sony Interactive (video games) and Atari among several other companies. A good book to get you started is called, There is Money Where Your Mouth Is' by Elaine Clark. My first audition was for Sony - I got the gig and it paid $700 per hour and I was there for 2 hours doing a French-Canadian snow-boarding chick. But that was 20+ years ago.
I've been a subscriber for a year and really enjoy your channel. Your narrative delivery & authenticity is outstanding. This renovation of your new place has been so fun to watch. Agree with others the workmanship here has been exceptional. The green accent wall in the living room is beautiful, well done! Agree with others to consider Heinz red as an accent wall in your study. It would bring warmth & interest & is a great color for someone like yourself that is highly creative. Enjoy the end results thus far George, you deserve it!
It looks amazing, what a fantastic job. I cannot imagine ANYONE wanting to kill you George, but you’re quite right to be careful about what you share online. I really enjoy your humour, calm demeanour and the relaxing videos you create. I do love a transformation.
Love the green! Your contractor is doing a great job. I like his attention to detail. The painter sure has a steady hand. Great job, I look forward to seeing more of your renovations after you look at your bank account, cry, and save some more money. (Just kidding, don’t want you to cry!) Thanks for sharing! ~Dana
"Secret extra surprise phase" of the renovation! Woo hoo! Those are always the best and guaranteed to make you cry the most. I really like the length of these videos, long enough to show a substantial progress, but not featuring every single nail.
so happy for you! i loveeee the feature walls in every room idea, pick shades that make you happy, that you won’t get sick of, and that look good in both natural & artificial light!
Another great video - what a talented crew you have working on your place. Just watching them work was inspiring. Like a ballet - so efficient and not a wasted movement. Happy to learn about Lick Pro paint and clicked on the link only to discover they don't have shops in California! The Heinz red is divine. And what a stunning result from your talented crew - the kitchen is fab and the brightness of the room is perfect. I look forward to seeing the next stage of the renovation. Cheers from the San Francisco Bay Area!
It doesn’t matter what this old building throws at you because Sean Paul is an absolute magician. I’ve never seen anyone work so efficiently and handle so many different problems with ease. Money is always a problem which is why it’s great to have a stellar contractor who does it right the first time! The house looks very beautiful and cheery but I would suggest not falling back on painting a feature wall in every room but rather going crazy and painting a whole room (your office) a nice bright colour. Cheers George!
Brilliant, George! Great progress happening. You're lucky to have a great team. Great color choices. And bravo for keeping your privacy intact. Nice one! 😊👍
Great renovation so far! You must be so pleased to have such great builders. They really are outstanding. You obviously work well together. Hope you can soon get the money together to complete it all.
It's really looking beautiful! I love the green wall in the bedroom. The guys did a great job. They make it look so easy. I know it isn't or we'd all be doing the work ourselves, right? I can't wait to see the next phases. I bet your kitty will be so happy having so much room to run around in.
Hope you all enjoy this one! As always, if you're reading this and not subscribed, please scroll up and subscribe so I can get one million subscribers, acquire 23 cats, and retire. Thank you.
You've stolen my retirement plans!
Yes, Jr. has chosen to share your life with the presumption of being an adored, only cat! 🐈👑
Ha ha, love your sense of humour! I’m sure Junior would love a couple of friends but 23?? 😄 (Am already subscribed)
Good for you George - protect your privacy. We love your videos and seeing what you want us to see, but nobody has a right to seek you out and be a nuisance.
Im super confused when you say this is an upstairs flat, does that mean the bottom unit is completely submerged by earth on the backside?
Paint your rooms in the colors that make you happy and don’t worry about what someone else thinks.
❤
Looking good! Your contractors are doing such a skilled job - I'm glad that you're naming them and giving them credit.
As for the weirdos, I'm always astounded that weirdos have no clue that they're weird. Stay safe, get cameras.
it's nice to see tradesman who take pride in what they do
Exactly this 👏
Your videos are one of those that gets me to immediately click on them. Really interesting to see the building taken down to the bones and built up again.
Cheers Viktor! Appreciate it. And likewise, I've quite enjoyed seeing the process myself haha.
Same here - I click immediately - even when I'm in the middle of something. LOL

Integrated appliances, always makes a kitchen look good.
As black kitchen owner, you made the right choice. Also black shows dirt really really well.
Altho I don’t have a black kitchen, I did stain my stairs to the basement a dark brown & they show every speck of dirt. I would never recommend a dark work space for that reason alone! That is so cool!
Me, softly sobbing at the sight of a pro cutting in without tape, and knowing I’ll never be that good. 😭
I love how the fridge is "hidden" in the cabinetry. That's not something that we typically do in American kitchens. Looks really nice!
These are Known as integrated appliances, washing machines/fridge/dishwasher/ can all be built-in.
Mike: that's not really true! I've seen lots of kitchens with integrated appliances!
Sean (Shaun?) Paul and his team are so graceful and efficient in their work it's beautiful to watch.
This is a beautiful space, and I'm so impressed with the quality of work from your builders!
You've lucked out with your tradesmen, George, they're amazing! Only 15 mins to build a whole kitchen?! LOL! Seriously, though, John Paul and his comrades have done a sterling job, and it's been fascinating to watch their process.
Sean Paul and team did an amazing job. Love the sage green wall 👍
You couldn't have chosen a better color for the accent wall. Everything looks wonderful. So sorry to hear about the roof and boiler but better to find out now rather than later. I am happy for you that you found such skilled workmen throughout this build that you can trust. Take care George. ✌️
Go tomato! That red is gorgeous. This entire renovation has been so wonderful to watch, thanks for sharing it with us.

Haha thanks Andrea! Glad you like it. :)
J. Paul team are doing an impeccable job. Amazing!!!
Have one of the walls painted bright sunny yellow. That will help through long dark winter days.
‘Diazepam fueled holidays’. I love your sense of humor George. ❤❤
Glad you went with white kitchen & marble worktops, same as mine 😂

You can include old Scottish dwellings too.
@@john_smith1471 LOL true that - and Welsh and Northern Irish too. 😁

These workers are so inspiring!
Black cabinets look great in a picture but they show every speck of dust and dirt!

Choose what you like and want. You have to live with it and no one else. It looks great.
The expertise these guys work with is a joy to watch.
That kichen is getting really delightful!

The old kitchen feels more cozy, the new one looks modern, both are good 👍
Love the counters/worktops, good choice. They're not something that will date quickly unlike that horrible brown quartz that Americans seem to like
Always enthralling seeing true workmen (or women) doing their crafting. Hopefully these guys or girls. Get the increased profile, and professional rewards.

Oh my goodness. I love that soft, soothing green.
Your craftsmen are so skilled, quick and efficient - You were fortunate to find them.
Wow, the sage-y green color is perfect as an accent color! Your new home is going to be so lovely.
I love the green wall leading into the garden, it sort of brings the garden indoors 👍
Lovely shade of green
I would recommend a ring camera system. Mine covers the entire perimeter of the property
I absolutely loved it! You should do a spa renovation. I'm so calm now.
Love watching the workmen as it looks like a ballet...no wasted movements.
Those guys are really good Craftsmen. looks amazing

It looks amazing, what a fantastic job. I cannot imagine ANYONE wanting to kill you George, but you’re quite right to be careful about what you share online. I really enjoy your humour, calm demeanour and the relaxing videos you create. I do love a transformation.
That kitchen looks AMAZING that was WONDERFUL to see it come together wow
the way the bushes are framed in the windows is so beautiful, they look like art pieces
I loved watching the cabinet makers work, it looked so quick and easy
Love the skylights on the angle.

I’m pretty much in love with your videos, George. They gave me the peace and calmness I didn’t know I needed. Cheers from Brazil.
It’s beautiful! It is mesmerizing to watch skilled craftspeople at work!
Listening at work. Your voice calms my nerves. 🙂
That turned out so beautiful I love this. Your choice of sage green to go with the view is right on.
Love the renovation and the green color is beautiful.
Likely you have an oil boiler as there is an oil storage tank in the garden, there might not be mains gas in the village.
so happy for you! i loveeee the feature walls in every room idea, pick shades that make you happy, that you won’t get sick of, and that look good in both natural & artificial light!
Love the green paint and "ketchup" for the office would be motivational. Something calm for the bedroom. Perhaps a blue?
Looks great, George! I'm quite envious. 😵💫
Can't believe you got the famous musician Sean Paul and his crew to work on your house, so cool!
Jokes aside, looks really good.
Yellow Mustard. Whichever room you want to be a sunny, happy yellow color.

At least you get to keep living in the best kept village! Great little house.
Beautiful. Beautiful, George. 🙂
Their paint seems to go on nicely, smooth and they are great colors!
The contractors are really hard working and it shows! Everything looks amazing...Good looking team too 😮😊

Looks great! Nice to see it all coming together, and the green wall is cool!
Really happy with how it's coming together! 🤠
Such a beautiful clean and bright transformation. I love the green. I have a very similar color in my kitchen.
Ooooooh I love these updates ❤
So much progression 🎉
Glad you like them!
It looks lovely! I hope you are very happy in your new place! (And Jr., too!)
I always forget in Scotland they dont full skim plasterboard walls
Wow what a beautiful renovation
Great job, well done.

The kitchen looks good and the green wall looks very nice. The house is coming along beautifully.
Looks fantastic, cracking design and great execution!
Your home is looking great, George. Good paint colour choices too.
I have a solid wooden rolling pin in my bedroom. I call it the burglar alarm.
Really looking forward to the rest of the transformation. It is looking good so far.
Crisp and lovely George 🙌🏻 The ‘before’ had vibes of a staff kitchen of a Knitwear shop 🧶can smell the pea n ham cup a soup 😂
