I moved to Colorado Springs in 1982 from the San Fernando Valley just north of LA. The first two years here, I thought I'd never be warm again. Year three was better and by year four I was one of those people I used to think were crazy for wearing shorts when it was 50 degrees outside! The clue to living here is to ALWAYS have a jacket on hand, even in the summer. People will find life is much better in Colorado Springs if they pay attention to the weather forecast, keep good tires and the gas tank full on their vehicle, layer their clothing, ALWAYS take a coat 24/7/365, and stay prepared for any kind of weather because you WILL GET IT here in Colorado Springs. The occasional big hail in the summer can be devastating to vehicles and landscaping, but they don't happen very often (thank goodness!). In the wintertime, it's always wise to keep sufficient food in the freezer and pantry and stock up 2-3 days ahead of when the weather report says a storm is coming because it seems like everybody waits until the day before or the day of the storm to go to the market. The weather in Colorado Springs doesn't bother me at all anymore; I actually enjoy it since I've retired and don't have to drive when it's snowy and icy and can just put on a pot of soup and stay snug and warm at home.

The hailstorms in Colorado Springs can truly be devastating. Summer is short. Temperature swings can be intense. Fires can be terrible.

The weather has been changing. Spring in the Springs the past couple of years has been noticeably warmer with snow transitioning to rain sooner. 2023 was record rainfall with a record number of basements showing it...

It is way too hot in Colorado Springs. I will stay up in the mountains.

I always find it funny when my Sister in law complains when it gets in the 80s in the summer and we get temperatures around 105 here in El Paso

Dude it was the hottest summer ever over here in Las Cruces. And we're always 5 degrees cooler. Thank goodness for Cloudcroft.

A bit off topic, but is saying "like" a lot a big thing in Colorado Springs?
I was in Old Colorado Springs from November to April (2017/18) and the weather was impeccable.
So much so, I spent as much time outdoors as humanly possible.

We had a TON of rain this year - pretty usual for us. However we do tend to get afternoon showers in the summer. But I wouldn't say June is particularly rainy

The weather is terrible! Nothing reliable about it. Yes, I'm sure it could be worse elsewhere.

Adverse weather conditions are for the most part... temporary. The only thing permanent.... you're one mile closer to the sun 🌞. Oh and it ain't California so don't bother, you can't handle it. 🌍✌️🌎
