    Hi everyone!
    Welcome to the Friday Q&A!
    I hope you have all had a great week!
    If you are new I hope you'll consider subscribing:)
    I am traveling this weekend so I will answer your comments as much as possible, some areas are without cel service (can you imagine???). As always, leave me questions for next week!
    Last! When reading the ingredients I pronounced some of them with an "ine" instead of an "een" sound. Editing it was killing me as I mispronounced some of those words, so bear with me! LOL
    Channel Mentions:
    Kathysbeautycarechats--Check out her channel, she's a ray of sunshine and she has an interesting take on hyaluronic acid! It could really be helpful to some of you living in dry climates!

    Thank you for replying!!! In one video you showed us how to microneedled perioral lines. But you do not go over the lips. What can be done about those perioral wrinkles that also travel into the lips and about the general loss of plumpness in lips after the venerand age of 50? Something other than fillers. More along the line of boosting tissue regeneration. If exist such a thing

    Wow another fantastic video Penny! Good to hear you talk about growth factors (I have 3 different brands & still not sure which I like best) & am curious if you have decided that adipose and mesenchymal conditioned media are equally safe and effective (based on the science) or if you are still looking into this? Looking forward to hearing your informed opinion! (as well as the dermatologist you work with)

    Definitely going to do some research on results from medical needling under the eyes. Thin skin there and dark circles because of it seems like the one area where so little can be done.

    Hi Penny, I love all your videos and you are so informative. I’ve really learned so much from you! I have most of the lotions and potions you have recommended and I usually cocktail a lot on together! Is this OK or are they counteracting each other?? I use the B3 during the day and vit. C at night. You said not to use them at the same time. I use the vit A and retinol products at night! I really need to know if I’m doing everything OK or know what goes best with what!! Thanks ever so much! I’m 76 but still have pretty good skin, not many wrinkles but a lot of brown spots! Hugs Karen

    Also wondered what your opinion is on CBD oil in skincare. Maybe this could be a question answered in a future q & a.

    Hi Penny, I love hearing all the questions that you answer!
    I was under the opinion that all products including growth factors and serums should be refrigerated. Recently, someone said that this is a no no. Her plastic surgeon opined that she was degrading the effectiveness of her expensive products. I always refrigerate my vitamin C but wondering which others should and should not be refrigerated? Thanks!

Or if not bradceuticals, another appropriate growth factor for my hair after needling? Thank you 🙏🏻

    Thank you Penn, brilliant as always. I followed your neck micro-needling video recently and will repeat 1x month (fingers crossed!!) I wonder if you'd consider doing a video just about necks... what are the other things we should consider? Which devices/treatments are particularly good for this area? Have you tried any of the silicone patches (Sio), As for creams, in the UK we have Prai cream for the neck - but I'm hearing mixed results. Does micro current or radio frequency (avoiding thyroid!!) help? What about LED? Thank you!!

I have at-home radio frequency, micro current and LED that I'm using already on my face, so wondering whether which is best (esp given thyroid) on neck. I don't think my platysmal bands are the biggest issue. I have the same issue I see in many women over 45 which is crepieness and lack of elasticity. I do have high hopes for microneedling (maybe using your recommended stem cell serum during cosmetic level needling?) Thanks again for your reply. xN

    Im in AZ ( that's why I clicked on this video) , it's so hard to find anything these days that don't have HA in it, these companies are going ham with the HA , putting it in everything, I had to stop using HA a while ago because it was drying me out and leaving what seemed to be chemical burns , but it's in everything, my foundation and foundations I wish I could buy like seyrum ones, it's in lip care, creams and on and on ( the drugstore stuff), like they are only adding it as a selling point because people believe that HA means moisture no matter what, it's like no matter what we buy , it's in there. So, because I don't like full coverage foundation , or other nasty ingredients found in foundations that manage to not jump on the " it's got hyaluronic in it" trend, now all i can use is powder foundations ( ugh) lol, I even just bought the latest L'oreal foundation balm, did not see HA in it :), until i looked up the full ingredient list and boom! there she was , just in the sulfate form( rolls eyes) , i refuse to splash water on my face, apply foundation ( can you imagine hahah) and then top it with what? vaseline hahaha ... Message to cosmetic companies: please offer a damn HA free version of your latest whatever hahaha ( ok, rant over)

  • @elenacassandracastorpollux14

    On flat acne scars not pit or "hole like scars" is it OK to microneedled at 0.75 or 1 as it is on the chubby side of chubby checks and as I can t almost feel 0.5 and there the skin doesn't t really became pink at 0.5 especially on the scar it seems that the scar collagen is so tough that my dr pen a1 (old cheap type) seems to not really be perforating deep enough to cause pinkies

    Hello Penny!
    I always enjoy the information you give in your video’s.
    You mention that living in a dry climate ( I live in Las Vegas) to avoid HA. Should I avoid it while microneedling, if so what should I use instead?

    • @PENNSMITHSKINCARE
      @PENNSMITHSKINCARE  4 роки тому

      Only avoid HA if you have a problem with it. Lots of people in dry climates are ok as long as they mist their face before applying HA. I just wanted people to know that IF they live in a dry climate AND their skin is getting drier it might be the HA.
      Definitely would still use it with needling without a problem 💜

    Alright, I have bought EGF from China. I have felt that it has definitely had a positive effect on my skin. The product is a two-piece affair, a powder and a liquid in small glass bottles. You open both bottles, and pour the liquid into the bottle with the powder and you have an EGF liquid. The amount is very small. I put it in a very small glass spray bottle that is a misting type of sprayer. I have been using this product for a few years and I like it. I know that China produces lots of things that are not genuine and that don't work, and this is the only thing I buy from China for my skin care. If you read this, Penn, I would love to hear your opinion. All the writing on the packaging is in Chinese, so I don't have a brand to share. Hope to hear what you think.

    • @JAYJAY-ch4ik
      @JAYJAY-ch4ik Рік тому

      As a Chinese, we made more genuine products than the western world. Why you guys always have fake stuff or cheap stuff is because of your conglomerate setting up factories in China and thus made in China. Do note we Chinese don’t use those things they are wacky and bad quality. It’s your own country cheating your own citizens not us. Basically with the right amount of money anything can be manufactured much better than any part of the world. Think iPhone. Think DJI drones. And why Huawei is being blocked :$

      Yes you should use HA with microneedling (and you’ll be fine). To counteract any water loss you can needle mid day and use an occlusive (water trapping) moisturizer before bed. Something as simple as cereve will work. 💜

    Hi Penny, what's your opinion on Peach & Lilly skincare line? I have been using their Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask about 3xWeek. I also use Glass Skin Refining Serum followed by the Pure Beam Luxe Oil twice a day. I have noticed some changes with the sun spots but seem to have stalled. I recently added Dearskin Tranex Dear Serum. I'm 45, fair skin and trying to erase my younger years of living at the beach. I have had IPL this year and some spots never changed. I was thinking of a TCA peel. What would you suggest?

      @@skinsciencebymira Hi Mira thanks for the reply. I have on order some of the items Penny has talked about. I'm a little impatient so I seem to bounce around products after 3 months. The TCA peel is my last resort but if I would get immediate results then I would go that way. I do use sunscreen and have some Penny have suggested. What's your thoughts on that TCA peel? I heard it's more invasive then the other peels.

    Hi Penn, I just found your channel a couple of days ago and I am thrilled with such a lot of information on beautiful products you review. But I am a little confused. Could you help me...? I am 53 yo with some little tiny blackheads on my nose, fine lines and some uneven tone and dull (i want to improve my skin). I am currently using in the morning: Obagi in the Nu-Dream Gel, Obagi Nu-Derm Exfoderm Forte FX, Obagi Hydrate moisturizer, and Elta MD Suncreen Clear SPF46. At nights: Same cleanser and I mix Tretinoin 0.5% with Hydrate moisturizer. I would like to know what do you think about this routine....? I am trying to recreate the Obagi Nu-Derm System but it is too expensive for me and I think could be too strong, so I pick and choose some of the products. I would like to include PIgmentclar wash from La Roche Posay to use instead the Obagi Clear ($85) do you think it could replace it? Thank you for your comments and suggestions. PS I have a pimple once in a while...

    • @PENNSMITHSKINCARE
      @PENNSMITHSKINCARE  4 роки тому

      Hi there:)
      Ok so the pigmentclar (lotion I assume) isn’t going to be as strong (not even close) as the Clear.
      What you could do instead is use a less expensive cleanser (if I’m reading this right and you’re using obagi). You could also swap out your hydrate moisturizer for a less expensive moisturizer.
      I would go inexpensive on the non-active products and put your budget toward the clear, tretinoin and exfoderm.
      If you *do* use the pigmentclar *cleanser* it could help with the blackheads bc it’s lipohydroxy Acid which is a salicylic Acid relative and SA is helpful in clearing pores.
      You could go less expensive with your cleanser and try neutrogena salicylic acid 2% wash before your exfoderm to clear the pores.
      I hope this helps!! 💜

I am a little afraid to use Exfoderm with the ingredients it has with the Salycilic acid. Thank you again.
