Hey Penny! Just catching up on so many of your videos. Loving them! Thank you so much for the great information. Funny, I was just thinking the other day how it was 20 years ago when I was in school getting my Esthetician license. Boy how things have changed and improved. I haven't kept up my license in many years, so thankful for your channel! xo

My jowls, turkey neck and double chin appeared out of nowhere about a year ago. I am 47. Thank you for this video. I did just purchase the Hooga red and NIR bulb and it just arrived today. I also ordered some peptides, and have just started using Clareblend microcurrent and have the Medicube EMS device, but it hurts my teeth. I ordered some dental gauze and will try again today. I am going to order some AHA today! I also want to start microneedling and adding in RF or HIFU. I did download your guide and have watched your videos on frequency of these modalities and am going to be following this. You have been the most helpful to me in the last month or so, when I started researching how to help my issues. Again, thank you so much for your content. It is so incredibly helpful!

What an informative and great video. Loved the simplicity, suggestion of products in the description. My current routine AM. There serums: Vitamin C, Lactic acid, q10 them my cream moisturiser to lock it in. Pm. I rotate prescribed tretinoin at 5%, Zo skin night repair that includes retinol at 1% and the Zo Glycolic at 10% I top it all off with matrixyl 6 serum from timeless and thick moisturiser with ceramides. Would like to learn a bit more on how to introduce the copper peptide, squalene and the led light I use from NuFace. 🙇. Thank you

Omg! I finally found an answer to something I've been thinking about nonstop for months now. I haven't been able to research this specific thought because it isn't the easiest thing to Google or find an answer to. I've been wondering if the exfoliating action of AHAs alone is what stimulates collagen or if the AHAs themeselves bind to receptors or somehow tell skin to create more collagen. I am glad to know the answer now :)
The reason I've been wondering about this is because I've been wondering if it is beneficial to use an AHA in addition to using retinoids for maximum collagen building ability. Since most of my "resurfacing" comes from Tretionoin, I have been wondering if it would be beneficial to also add in an AHA but figured it wouldn't be necessary for additional resurfacing. Now that I have the answer and that AHAs actually signal collagen specifically, logically it seems like incorporating both would be beneficial? Thoughts?
Yes, I am aware these can both be irritating. I only incorporate AHAs when my skin isn't irritated from Tretinoin. I have been on Tret for about 8 months and no longer irritated or sting from it. So I've been using AHA either in the AM and Tret at PM or alternating nights with both.

Penny, you are SUCH a Godsend! The analogy about piano keys that are all in tune and play a beautiful song, and then with age, that song gets out of tune! I was all set to go with tretinoin, but I think I just might try one of the retinaldahydes that you recommend here. Still trying to decide which one. BOY do I wish I still lived in PDX and could come see you!

You are, BY FAR, the best on UA-cam to follow for any woman of any age. I wish I had started researching how to lift my lower face earlier because if I had known ANY of the info I have learned from you I wouldn’t be in the shape I’m in now trying to play catch up at 48 years old. Literally all my dermatologist has told me for years is to wash my face with CeraVe, use their moisturizer that has sunscreen in it (which isn’t much), and use Retin-A! I have some places on my face I ask her about every year and she says what the are so fast I can’t even understand her. I took a deep dive into all your videos and started from the beginning. I learned what they are from you! It is exactly what they look like and sounds like what she says really fast every year I go for my check up. Sebaceous hyperplasia. I don’t have a ton of them, but at least I know what they are and my limited options now. Also, I want to tell you that in the more recent videos when you talk about having hyperpigmentation and how you have to fight it, I couldn’t imagine you having much of an issue. But, you did and it was so apparent when you forgot to conceal under your eyes when you were testing out a product that was a primer to give makeup a glass like appearance. I see videos of you now all the time with NO makeup on and it is incredible to see the difference. You are living proof that you know what you’re doing and from 2 or 3 years ago, you have turned back the clock, sister! You were beautiful no matter what, but there were things I wouldn’t have even noticed if I hadn’t heard you talk about it in recent videos that I can now see you really did struggle with before, even a little bit of a downward smile. I have one side that goes up and the other goes down, so to see improvements from the person who is giving the advice is so encouraging! You’re a natural beauty, but the proof is in the pudding. I know you’ve mentioned that you teach putting in extensions, you teach all of us who feel like we know you, research, and all that goes on behind the scenes with your social media and blogs, you are a wife and mother. I don't know when you sleep! Thank you so much for opening my eyes to better skincare and devices. You're amazing!!!

OOOHHHH this is a goodie! Penny you are a goddess!!! YES this is my issue at 51 years of age, my only question is that you would use the products in the exact order you laid them out? Copper after moisture? Would this skin care regiment be a good preventative measure for someone in their mid to late 30's? Also, can you recommend some really great at home peels, or do a video on it? Thanks so much, and keep rockin!!

    • @stephaniecisneros1003

By peels what do you mean? Chemical peels? If so, always go to a professional first. And it really depends on what type of CHEMICAL peel you're talking about. I personally would never do a TCA or Jester peel at home...really just don't.
Now salicylic, glycolic and lactic acid peels, I've done for years and years on my own. Make sure you do a lot of research and don't buy it from just anywhere. #1 do a 24 hr patch test, to see how your skin reacts.

I do most of what you said here but I was wondering what your thoughts are on growth factors. I noticed you didn't say anything about them. I am using Osmosis Stem Factor right after my Tatcha Essence. I follow that with my Osmosis AC-11 in the am and Correct in the evening. I follow that with Osmosis Rescue and Replenish. I then use the Biossance Phyto-retinol serum and squalane & lactic acid resurfacing night serum in the evenings. I am exfoliating with m61 twice per week. I also am using eye creams. Am I using too much?

Been following Anne since she first started on UA-cam. Now I will follow you. I am much older than you. I am more in the mature population. I do feel you are never to old to learn new things. I go to my dermatologist several times a year & to her spa every other month as I have had basal cell carcinoma from teen sun worship. I just watched a special on Vitamin C this was concerning metastatic cancer that was no longer being helped by chemo. They used infusions of high doses of Vitamin C that put the cancer in remission. The people involved in the study also juiced vitamin C and injested 3 times a day. One of the benefits was brighter, less wrinkled skin, tightened skin.

Hi Amy! Sorry for the delayed response, I’m traveling :))
I did put on Instagram a protocol with suggestions for when to use what. It also lists the things that can’t be combined.
      I hope that helps!
Instagram is Penn Smith Skincare also 💜

Thanks for this Penny! Do you think with the use of everything mentioned, the lax skin will eventually bounce back, or will it simply help it somewhat...

Hi Penny, thank you for your vastness of all of your videos. I truly enjoy them all and feel like I have my own personal aesthetician! I use tretinoin (includes niaminicide and azailecazelaic acid) and 2% OTC hydroquinoine. But my skin is very dry and I am currently using Cerave cream for my face at night and Drunk Elephant's Protini Peptide cream during the day. Is the Biossance cream a good cream for my very dry skin? If not, can you recommend a more occlusive night time moisturizer with squalane? Thank you!

It’s like you read my mind on your topics! Sagging is -by far- my number one skin concern. Jowls and neck issues 😩
I’m also SO glad you mentioned copper and even made product recommendations !! I had read somewhere how powerful it is in fighting aging skin.
Thank you for teaching us so much. You must have to be researching all the time to get your information.
My question is how to use all these 5 recommendations? What goes on the skin first and what can or cannot be mixed? I had read somewhere that vitamin C doesn’t “play nice” with some products. If so, what order do we layer? Can you recommend a skin regimen for everyday of the week- day and night? What I’d really love is a monthly skin regimen with micro needling/facial peel scheduling included. I know that’s asking a lot, but any insight will help. Thanks SO much, Penny. You’re the best! 🥰

Laura I so hope she answers your post in the Q&A vid posted today. (I’m behind on videos) Because it is like somehow you, Laura, are in my brain and asked & said exactly what I need! 😆
I have most of the key ingredients that she recommended in my skincare routine now, but I want to make sure that I am layering them correctly. And I still have not figured out where to add derma rolling. 🙄

Michelle Mc. That is so funny how we skincare junkies think alike. 😊 I posted that question before scrolling down seeing some others asked before me. So I can’t say I’m the only one asking what order to use these great skincare products. I always start a monthly chart of what to do when in skincare scheduling and then never stick with it. I haven’t watched today’s video yet, but I will 😉. Thank you so much for the comment and have a great weekend! 😍

Really enjoy your channel and love this particular video. I have a question about using the LED mask. Does it diminish the effect if a sheet mask or products are used under the LED mask? I've read conflicting articles and my mask came with minimal instructions. It has built in microcurrent nodules but no instructions for use. I value your opinion. Thanks for sharing your valuable information with us xoxo

Hi Penn, I had microneedling today, Botox and filler in my jowls and cheeks. I have asked you questions before, I’m 76. I really like the lady that did these procedures. I told her about your channel. I have really learned so so much from you so I know what to expect from treatments. Her numbing cream was so so great, I didn’t feel a thing. She said it was 400%. The nano needles she used didn’t leave any spots on my face like other ones I had done did. I’m really not needing any thing answered today just wanted to let you know how much I love your channel and all the information you give us. Great video today, HUGS Karen

      Thank you so much Karen!
I thought of you when I made this video because it’s a great protocol for my mom....and you also!! I’d be more conservative on the vitamin A and then hydroxy acids for you both (use them less frequently) but both the LED and squalane are PERFECT for you both! 💜

PENN.SMITH.SKINCARE Thanks so much! Where I went for the microneedling she is getting a LED machine that shows deep into your face of the damage so they can tell which color you need. She told me probably yellow! It is a real expensive machine ( I think they all are 🤪). I think it will be one of one or two that are already in Idaho. It will be up and running in January! I’m so so excited for it and to get RID of my BROWN spots! I totally detest them. I’m soooooooo glad I found this spa, they know what they are doing and she is a RN. I’m anxious to see what my face looks like when all the filler gets into place and the Botox is working! Have a great day and looking forward to your Q and A today!❤️❤️👍

Also the video you had about ur ice roller and jade roller that had a tip on one end.....I am having a terrible time finding that jade roller! I looked on the link you put up for that but it wasn’t there! Any suggestions where I might find one? How do we know if our copper peptides is GHK-CU or SRCP? Thanks 💜💜

Thank you for this video. I am so glad I just found this.I just started adding most of these products into my skin care regimen two weeks ago and yesterday purchased the Celluma lite LED system. I was so happy to find your video to follow along. I am very bothered by the sagging I am seeing in my jowls and I am hoping the LED starts to show a difference. I was going to do a video of the 30 day results, but every youtuber is so young and pretty...I think I may not video this after all. If I do I won't show it!! lol! You are an inspiration to us all.

Hi Penny! Such an informative video, thank you. What are your thoughts on incorporating both fraxel laser and clear and brilliant laser within this type of regiment? At 46, I noticed literally overnight, a sag in my jowls and am definitely considering doing some type of laser to prevent anymore of this sagging. Thank you again, for all that you do for us within this community. All my best, Marsha

I love your videos! Thank you so much! I do feel like I am getting overwhelmed with what I should be using. I am 52 years old, and have the fine lines and some sagging of the skin. I would love to know what would be the best routine for my skin on a daily basis. I feel like in order to combat some of my issues, I would need to but on 5 ingredients per day and night! I am on a budget, so would like a simple yet effective routine. Thank you!
