We live in southeastern Illinois on a 41 acre homestead. We just finished building our log cabin in 2018. Now we are focused on trying to grow our own food and raise livestock. Follow us on our journey we continue to develop our homestead and farm, while becoming more self sufficient.

Best way to bring up children is on a farm. They learn to take care of animals that teaches them planning and responsibilities.

Derrick's farming operation looks big enough that it's nice to have the children helping out as they are getting older, and they are learning a whole lot as they help. It sure seems like a handful what Evan and Rebecca take care of, though they make it look a whole lot easier, than I'm sure it is, especially with both having full time jobs away from the farm. This is one of my favorite channels to watch, not only because it's entertaining, but also because I'm constantly learning new things, that I didn't know I was interested in learning. Just when you start to think there is no hope for our young people with all this WOKE stuff in the world....We get to meet a family like this. These are our next generation on sane family orientated kids who will be productive adults.

Always fun to go get your summer pigs . When I was kid we went to pig farm . Of course then I was the one had to feed them . I look back now and realized it was good life on the farm .

Moe, Larry, and Curly are my suggestions for names. What a lovely family, raising their kids with animals and involved in 4-H. Don't get no better than that. Our kids were also involved in 4-H and FFA, now our grandson is, and it's Fair week. He shows his ag project tomorrow.

We had 4H and FFA/Future Farmers of America in my towns schools, 4H is for the real young kids (grade school to Jr High and FFA is more for HS kids. Seems like you don't see the FFA much anymore in schools but they are both good for school aged kids. That is a really nice family.

Old stone wells can collapse. Even when they appear to be intact and safe.
Best to fill it with stone or concrete. It is a huge liability. Insurance company may say that it has to go!

Nice to see your neighbours farm and the kids all involved with the animals. It’s not something many get to experience these days. As a youth away at school we had chickens, rabbits, pigs, and a couple of retired quarter horses. No saddles, so we had to learn to ride bareback.
