I'm looking for a new car myself. I looked at newer Opel's, Audi's, Mercedes, Kia's, Hyundai's and Renaults. Never even considered a Toyota, until I went on a testdrive in the new Corolla for a friend of mine. I gotta say I was very impressed. Yes, the technology on the interior is outdated and isn't high-tech, but the driving experience was so smooth and so very calming, it was perfect. Whenever the car feels like it can switch to electric mode, it automatically does, so you don't even have to worry about that. It's perfect for traffic, so you don't have to use the internal combustion engine. If you've never considered a Toyota, please do. Just go on a testdrive and experience the Japanese crafstmanship.
I have 1.8 Hybrid Dynamic version. Wish Toyota sold this 2.0 hybrid when I bought mine, I see a lot of new features on the Corolla that werent available in 2021 such as electric tailgate and head-up display. This last one was the feature that I felt it missed the most on my car. When driving a hybrid you want to constantly see the eco-power level so that you are aware of how much you need to press the acceleration pedal. And looking down in the cluster to check that everytime is not convenient or safe.

I own the 1.8l and my inner city consumption is 3.7lt/100km , even with the a/c on BUT with 15'' wheels.......... !!!

a corolla with a heads up display is so cool. wish we had something like that in NA.

Yeah, but that was more like instant mpg on a quite short drive. After a longer distance it averages out a much lower number.
