2019-2022 Toyota Corolla hatch & Touring Sports review

- This is the 12th generation of the Corolla - the first version came out when England last won the World Cup, so it’s been around a while. We compare it to rivals such as the Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf and Skoda Octavia.
Tim tests both the hatchback and Touring Sports (estate/wagon) version of the Corolla to find out their differences. If you're deciding between the two - look out for the Motorpoint Big Boot challlenge.
The Corolla comes in two engine variants:
1.8-litre hybrid
- 122hp
- 78mpg (claimed)
- 0-62mph in 10.9 seconds
2.0-litre hybrid
- 184hp
- 72mpg (claimed)
- 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds
All versions are ‘self-charging’ hybrids and are automatic (CVT) only.
Standard equipment includes:
- Alloy wheels
- Heated front seats
- Reversing camera
- Adaptive cruise control
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (on models built after 2020)
If you're wondering why the Toyota Corolla looks very similar to the Suzuki Swace, that's because it's exactly the same (except for some minor cosmetic differences). This is the second car that Toyota and Suzuki have collaborated on after the success of the Suzuki Across AKA Toyota RAV4.

The fuel economy is far better than a diesel if its driven like a hybrid should ie steady acceleration and using coasting and breaking in good time so if you don't floor it every time and slam on the breaks at the last second you can easily get 80 + mpg and average mid 70s
Toyota's recent car designs have been 🔥🔥🔥
Your info on the infotainment system is wrong my 2022 Corolla already had an new system
Those are some neat wheels. Where can I get those exact ones
TOYOTA ❤👍🏻
I think these look really good!
I think I’m too young to consider these engine options though. I wish Toyota would offer a BMW like range of propulsion options.
(Although the US get a fast Carlos Fandango GR version 😮)
We do offer the smaller version of the GR Corolla which is similar mechanically (with the circuit pack!): www.motorpoint.co.uk/used-cars/toyota/gr-yaris
Gotta love a GR Yaris
Like diesels and 4WD or 6-cylinder turbos?
@@motorpoint WOW that’s an impressive GR Yaris collection for sale!
So tempting 👀
Hopefully Toyota brings the hybrid version to the USA..
I love plogging my phone in
