the lake must've been dried up when the ancients put the statue there... so it dries up naturally.

Does anyone know how long it takes to Carbon date material like this? I may be googling incorrectly but I can't seem to get even a rough estimate. Are the sculptures too old for this method to be accurate?
Carbon dating is good up to about 50-60 thousand years into the past. The carbon dating process with modern equipment can be done in minutes once the sample is calibrated for carbon density. Source: Alexa.
