My mother just recently passed away and I found out that I am a descendant of Saint Thomas More. I never knew that I was related to someone so incredible. My dream was to become an attorney and this gives me the motivation to follow through with law school.
are you descended from katherine (moore) wyatt / flake? sister of augustine moore? I am trying to find my mother's moore ancestry and I think katherine is my 10th great aunt so is katherine (moore) (flake) wyatt the way of how you may be related to thomas?
I should like best to be descendant from Margaret Pole. Thomas More murdered many innocent people and his head was cut off with just one ax blow. Margaret Pole was a very good humanizing lady and, innocently, her head was cut off after 11 ax blows, from a very inexperienced lad executioner. Anyway, More is canonized and Pole is beatified. REJOYCE, although I am an agnostic so-called "catholic"! Sorry for any tough words - with no offense, please! Best wishes for 2021.
I received news about my older brother. He & his son were in a car accident and on April 23rd he’ll be going to a court trial. I hope & pray that everything will go well with the trial and my brother won’t go to jail. I ask Saint Thomas Moore to intercede for my older brother. Amen.
Alan Bourbeau prayerfully your older brother and nephew are alright, I would however implore you pray to Christ rather than a Sir Thomas More. Christ alone is sufficient as the propitiation for our sins before a righteous Godhead.
Jack Jones Asking a saint to intercede for oneself means that Jesus Christ is implored by the saint, so prayer to Christ is automatically implied. If we as Christians can ask each other to pray for us, why can’t we ask the saints to pray for us, the saints being holy men and women of exceptional faith and holiness?
You might have to hit God up for this one! The speed your brother was doing was double the limited whilst intoxicated on a cocktail of alcohol and drugs 👍🏿🙏🏿
Today 22nd. June 2021 we celebrate the feast of St. Thomas More......St.Thomas More, defender of the Catholic Church and Faith, dying for Christ, ......pray for us! Amen!
It's ironic that a man who has been canonised as the patron saint of lawyers actually hated law. It was not his choice to take up law but his father's. But he became brilliant at it, so maybe he came to like it better. You know that under all those heavy robes and chancellor's paraphernalia he's wearing a hair shirt? I don't know how he managed it.
Meek not Weak he is a saint because he loved God and his faith above all. “I die the king’s good servant, but God’s first.” stop hating on the pope when the enemy of this story was the king.
HE TOLD THE AXE MAN , DONT FEEL BAD , YOU ARE SENDING ME TO GOD , ST THOMAS MORE MY SAINT, PRAY FOR ALL THOSE ACCUSED FOR SOME THING THEY HAVNT DONE ,,, AMEN
"He became Lord Chancellor in 1529. During this time, Thomas worked tirelessly to defend the Catholic faith in England." - What you leave out at this point is that he persecuted Protestants and citizens who owned a Bible in English, tortured countless people and had them burned alive. Some saint, more like a fanatical monster.
In regards to that whole "shopping experience nonsense at the end of this John 2:16 Then, going over to the people who sold doves, he told them, “Get these things out of here. Stop turning my Father’s house into a marketplace!”
he might be my 14th great grandfather on my mother's side ( her dad's moore side) but I am not certain if this is true, but thomas does look somewhat like my grandfather when would have been younger
I feel drawn to this Saint, now as I am back to practicing Catholicism communally. The torment of England under King Henry VIII does not seem to be appreciated in its gravity. The so-called Church of England, born of the sins of pride and lust, would ultimately come to fuel a world empire built upon utilitarianist principles, a society so unjust and disordered where human life was devalued almost entirely. Its sin spread across the Earth and turned millions from ever embracing Christ. The British Empire was one of the greatest evils on the Earth.
THE SAINT I CHOSE WHEN I BECAME A ROMAN CATHOLIC , AT MY CONFIRMATION , LAST EASTER HES ALSO MY CHURCHES NAME SAKE , ST THOMAS MORE SEAFORD EAST SUSSEX AMEN
The Catholics are always looking for ways to do fund raisers. In Portugal, it was egg tarts. At least, these days, it's all automated and online. At any rate, St Thomas More, pray for us.
St.Thomas More was also a person who implemented the early forms of Socialism to the world. So this can be an example for the Christian acceptance of Socialism even up to a certain level.
@@holyromanemperor420 I am not smocking but seems like socialism has its roots in the Christian dogma. Some thing like humbleness, serving the poor and understanding them, equity and Christian brotherhood ( according to the Biblical teachings) for some extent.
