- Choosing is hard! Welcome to MojoTravels, and today we're going head to head with Florida and California to see which state reigns supreme for travelers.
In this video, we pit these two astonishingly diverse and amazing destinations against each other to see which takes the tourism crown.
#California #Florida #Tourism
The water in California is cold af, you can't swim without a wetsuit. Florida wins beaches.
@Antonio Lopez I agree with you, good thing I live in California
One more thing Adam if you go to Santa Barbara take Highway 154 up to the Santa Inez mountains, then take a right turn to East Camino cielo you will going to a hot spring called little caliente Big caliente.
It's true, you go to a beach in southern California in March and your gonna freeze your ass of in 40 degree water. Florida's more like a tropical island, it never gets under 70 degrees year round. And that's one of the best things about Florida, i love going to Clearwater beach (Tampa bay area) in mid January and it's like 78 degrees out.
You’ve clearly only visited Florida and not actually lived there. Even in the hottest southern cities Florida has atleast one-two weeks that ARE NOT warm it goes down to the late 30s and early 40s
@@chrystalcastillo8606 Sure but it's warm the majority of the time
I’m gonna be honest, comparing these two states is like apples and oranges
Which one would you consider oranges
literally oranges for one.
No it’s like comparing London and new York
Grapes and oranges
@Mee Acownt Don’t forget both cities are Entertainment hubs in the U.S (Movies/Music) , and most celebrities live in these 2 cities (aside from NYC) Miami and LA are alot more similar than people realize

You forgot no Taxes vs. 13% taxes in California, high cost of living vs. low cost of living. Socialism vs. freedom
Only the wealthiest people in CA actually pay 13%. Don't kid yourself, FL has taxes too (property, sales, grocery, VR, etc). They also charge more for insurance there.
13 percent isn’t even close to bad lmao y’all need to stop being so greedy. We use our income Taxes to help out Homeless ppl
@@darkrh5404help homeless people? how are you helping if each year the number of homeless people only increases
Daniel S. homeless people come to California from shitty red states (Texas Arkansas Etc etc) so they can live on the streets in the winter and for money and benefits. More homeless people are coming to California than normal people
@@darkrh5404 Californians who are leaving this shitty state and coming by the thousands to texas
As far as beaches go, it's not even close: Florida wins in a land slide. I've lived in both and must say the Pacific Ocean is freezing and detracts from any enjoyment.
@I love Angelique yeah for inducing hypothermia.
Florida beaches are romantic and inviting. I loved them when I was younger. The warm gulf almost like bath water. I live in Southern California now and I regret having left Florida. The ocean is forbidding and cold just like the ppl here. My summation of Southern California is people who want to live in a ghetto with million-dollar homes with the diversity of everyone except for white people; who have their own diversity.
Actually the Atlantic Ocean is colder than the pacific
@@yeti3601 that is certainly not true. If it were warmer, you would see hurricanes on the West Coast.
Chris Petrill ya it is, search up what is warmer Atlantic or Pacific Ocean
California is better in summer and Florida is better in Winter. Simple
Both states are incredibly beautiful and deserve a visit!
But most of California is a dry horrible desert....

Quick question I’m thinking about visiting Florida but I can’t decide on what beach I can should go to between siesta keys, pcb,Destin or Clearwater I’m looking to have fun eat good can you rank them for me I’m 28 so I’m pretty young
Nothing beats Malibu and the whole surf culture of southern California.
@World Traveler
Lol. All you guys say is California is expensive. I’d rather pay a few extra dollars for a better food, people, and entertainment.
Nothing beats Florida Keys and the tropical beach culture of South Florida
Honestly they're both beautiful
I lived in Miami for 15 years and currently live near LA. Both states are beautiful but I gotta give it to California 100%. California( referring to SoCal specifically) has a better climate, you get to experience summer (dry-heat) and actual winter but not as cold as it gets in other states ( and winter lasts about 2 days in Miami lol ). You get amazing scenery and countless hiking trails! In California and can go up the mountains, see snow then go down to the beach on the same day, which you can’t do in Florida because it’s flat and forget about seeing snow. California has vineyards, which are non-existent in Florida. LA has around 250 museums! LA is also know for its food culture and there are way too many things to do and explore in the city. Much more to do than in Miami. From where I live, I can be in San Diego in less than two hours, Santa Barbara, Vegas in 3, and Arizona in 5. Yes, FL’s beaches are warmer and the vibe is more tropical but you cannot beat the scenic CA beaches. Cost of living is lower in FL (except for Miami). CA is more expensive but you pay for what you get!
Exactly! Literally Beach,Snow,Forest,Desert all in one day in So Cal I live in Orange County and always something to do with the family
How is the living situation and taxes and all that stuff people are scaring me with? I'm one year out of getting my engineering degree and want to work with a firm in the San Diego area. I absolutely loved it when I visited this summer. I've lived in the Midwest my whole life, and even though it's a part of me and I love it, I could tell Cali is for me. Just that one bit has me on edge.
Florida is definitely the “flattest” U.S. state but Florida is by no means 100% flat. Central and North Florida has some pretty big hills. Especially Cleremont. There obviously not mountains, but just saying Florida is NOT completely flat. Lol
@@jaynyce5923 the highest point here in Florida is 300 feet lol. Pretty much a hill near a highway intersection is the highest peak you'll find here. No mountains or true hills whatsoever.
Yep cali has way better weather
Florida hands down!

@@caprison8584 it is tho

Sutsuj Uaedneir What state isn’t bad??
I live on the Pacific in Gold Coast, Queensland. It kind of combines the warm water and amazing sandy beaches like Florida but there is also amazing surfing like in California with beautiful hills and forest with waterfalls as the backdrop. It's got a subtropical climate like northern Florida and besides the 2 hottest and humid months the weather is great. It surprises me that California Pacific temperatures are so cold, its at a similar latitude from the equator as Gold Coast. must be the currents!
Surfers paradise ❤❤
Gold coast! Australia's Florida/California
I would live in Australia before cali or florida. I'm sure Australians are much more respectful then average Americans.
@@reptiliandomination1 true
Truth be told California (excluding Oregon and Washington) is close to Canada and since it's cold over there it's probably one of the reasons that part of the Pacific ocean is very cold.
One is a gang paradise the other is an alligator jungle
Gang? What are you talking about? Florida has gangs and cartels too
I went to Miami 2 years ago. I live in San Diego, but as a California resident, I have to say the beaches in Florida are better, the water here is too cold, and I prefer heat.
And I live in Miami I have lived all over USA and Miami is head above shoulder to any other cities and the women like all those flat backs in California

Then that's not the entire state vs California where it has literally everything from beaches to deserts to valleys to mountains to forests. Most of Florida is just beaches and swampy areas up north. California has more to offer than every other state
@Jabari Standberry A lot of Mexicans work in the Central Valley in California where more than half the nation's fruits, nuts and vegetables are grown. They literally grow your food

Both states have there good and bads, the beaches in Florida have white sand warm light blue light green water, in Cali the pacific is hella cold but the beaches are hella nicer (look wise)
Florida has better beaches for the fact that the Atlantic Ocean is much warmer than the Pacific Ocean, making Florida water's much more swimmable.
But the good thing about cold is that we dont have hurricanes but florida does by their warm water
Cali is better
I think it actually mentions it in the video that what California has is a many beautiful beaches and different levels of surfing. Florida has other positives like warm water and weather and probably activities though it doesn't mention it. It's just different reasons and uses.

I lived in CA for over 40 years and 8 years so far in FL; CA is a far better living experience. The beaches are better but in reality will you move from A to B just because of the beaches. Unless you plan on living at the beach or on the Keys you're better off coming to visit. Living full time and visiting is a very different experience and what is usually very pleasant becomes very undesirable when you realize the grass is always greener over there...

California weather is better. Florida is humid. Florida beaches are better, warmer. California beaches, suck. Both disney land and world are equally cool, plus they both have universal studios. Florida is cheaper to live and no state taxes. I would prefer california because the humidity in florida is, insane. California has fires and earthquakes. Florida has hurricanes, but usually doesnt hit destin to pensacola area. I would vacation to florida, but live in California. Although, if money becomes a problem in living in California, i would suggest moving to florida.

Facts! I don't understand why some believe cali have better beaches. It ain't even close.
Funny how you are wrong on everything.
California has less crimes than Florida and Texas combined. Think about that!
There's no nightlife in Florida unless you think Spring break is a nightlife, everything is dead by 10 pm after the visitors are gone.
What you have that's better are retirement homes. The state is for old people and was designed for old people in mind.
Your weather SUCKS, humid all the time, you get rain showers almost on a daily basis it doesn't matter if it's summer, you are going to get wet and forget about washing your car.
Only thing that used to be good in Florida was housing market, as we speak it is almost the same price as California, but Californians make 2x the salary of Floridians. So that's a big fat L for Florida in every aspect
Great Video but you were so wrong about beaches. California beaches may be beautiful, but are cold all the time, Florida’s are beautiful, warm, and relaxing, which is much better for the ideal “Beach vacation”
Nobody goes to California for a Beach Vacation.
Unless you like to swim with sea weed in Florida. I go to Hawaii 2 times a year for beaches. California has the most beautiful beaches as far as scenery and surfing.
Yeah, I agree California takes the overall win, and the Santa Monica Pier - Venice Pier is a major tourism attraction that was left out.
I won't trade LA. for any city in Florida though... However, Florida has the best beaches of the two, Florida has more numbers of accessible beaches... The beaches there have very warm swim friendly water, and the sands are both white and grainy.
California beaches on the other hand are much colder than you'd think (considering the perfect weather expectations) and the sands are more sticky and aren't as forgiving as those in Florida.
In the end... It's really just warm Atlantic Ocean running through Florida vs the cold Pacific Ocean running through Cali.
California has over 1500 beaches
At the 1:31 mark the video shows South Beach in Florida even though it’s referencing California
my dream is to live in Miami but I am studying English so as not to be difficult in English in Miami
Your English is already surplus to requirement.
What you'd basically need in Miami is Spanish... Lol
Beaches should go to Florida. Our beaches in California are pretty indeed until you need a wetsuit just to be able to swim in the frigid water
Florida beaches have sea weed all over, the water is nice but because you have have the sea weed issue and daily rain showers it is truly not the ideal place.
I’m 14 rn and I live in MA and my dream is to visits all 50 states and move to Florida cause my aunt and uncle just got a house in Clearwater
You will fall in love with California since you are young. Florida is for old people. I too have families all over Florida, my mother lives in Clearwater, my aunt in Tampa. Funny I used to live in Boston. Well, good luck young man!
It's not a competition
Is this even a comparison? The only thing Florida is better at is beaches. Everything else goes to Cali. Nice weather never humid, so many different biomes to visit, both are sunny, but Cali is just so clear with so many better cities
Lol nah Florida beats Cali in theme parks too. Also quality of life, better for businesses, diverse cultures, southern hospitality and down to earth people. Vacationed in both states from Canada. Florida is by far the better state to go. Better beaches and nicer communities. And for some cities, a lot cleaner than I thought. I would definitely visit there again.
Cali despite my relatives living there, just seems shady, dead and illusional. Even went up to LA and my God, Ottawa is nicer than LA. And I thought Ottawa was a druggy, garbage fill city.
Ironically I've met a lot more Canadians in Sarasota Florida than Cali.
Florida should've got the win for weather and Beaches. The weather in Florida is much better all year round and the Beaches in Florida are much better for swimming. California Beaches are only good for surfing because the Pacific Ocean Water is Ice Cold and if you want to swim in the California Beaches u have to wear a wet suit. I’ve lived here in FL all my life. I agree that our beaches are top notch. But weather wise it can get a little too humid here during the summer, which is the state’s downfall. Cali probably won because the air is dryer. But we do have the number 1 ranked Beach in the country. :)

Also, which state is currently on fire? And is all the smoke and homelessness included in the high taxes that you pay? Genuinely curious!
Sounds like a paradise!

Don’t forget we have Six Flags Magic mountain, Knotts berry farm sea world and we have better food then Florida
"beautifully hot weather" yea my balls drenched in sweat for the 18 years I lived there was just gorgeous wasnt it?
There's no way Florida have more attractions than California, i have lived in both states, it is not even close.
San Diego Zoo, Knotts, Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, Joshua Tree,Yosemite Park,Catalina Island, Hearst Castle, Alcatraz,Laguna Beach, Malibu Beach, Nappa Valley,
Hollywood, Muir woods, Santa Barbara, Griffith, Balboa Park, lake Tahoe, Palm Springs, Sequoia national park are some of the attractions
People arguing is just people who live and both states and think they are better
Cali beaches honestly suck. The water is disgusting when it rains and the visibility is horrible. And the water is cold af.
How about California having earthquakes?
I've never felt one in my 14 years of being here, plus none do serious damage unless your in sf
I live in the SF area and we only had one strong earthquake in my whole 35 years of life, the one in 1989. Minor shakes otherwise. I think I slept through most. So it's really not that bad.
Yanira Rivas I know al these Florida guys act like every week we have an earthquake but in reality there the ones having to evacuate every 12 months
I love Angelique Yeah true.
Sutsuj Uaedneir Yep.
I felt like California was cold!!! Personally, it’s not what I thought it was in Los Angeles. That breeze was cold and I was wearing a sweater
Florida can actually be colder. Did you know that California has more sunny days than Florida? Although they called Florida the Sunshine state, California has nicer weather and more sunny days. California's climate varies a lot too, you can go from a city with 80 degrees and 1 hour away there's a city that is 30 degrees, that is due to its mountain range. Crazy right? That's why I love it
I am your video big fan mojo travel
Cali takes round 2. This channel missed so much attractions from Cali
I don't understand. Don't we live everywhere on earth? We all have flying saucers now. We go anywhere in an instant. I don't understand this concept of choosing between places
When talking about Florida nobody ever mentions Busch Gardens and Adventure Island, Discovery Cove, and Sea World. They're fun places to visit.
@@samarnath1625 I would love to visit Lake Tahoe!! I heard it’s beautiful 😍🥰
They have those in California too and a lot more.
Lake Tahoe is beautiful, the lakes in California are beautiful too
Florida where the more north you got the more southerner you go.
He missed Santa Cruz and Monterey beaches
It kills me to think that Florida is going to be gone because of stupid sea level rise I want to move there and have an ocean front home eventually but the insurance and sea level rise is the only negative thing about it
I went to cali for vaca now I wanna move out there
Then move
Cali is better its better if its cold cause we dont have as much storms floridas is really warm and that causes the hurricanes but i mean cali does have earthquakes a lot
Are you crazy in California sucks because California beaches are so terrible there's so much pollution on the beach and land California have snow which I hate snow and California stinks from the pollution
Cali's beaches have heroine needles lol
Just Venice lmao
🤣🤣🤣
Ugh 🤮
Heroin
They just Cleaned up Venice beach
I like both
I would choose California cause I’m from there and I see lots of avacados grown there and lizards everywhere and Death Valley is the hottest place in america I went there in a heat wave and it was 130 degrees and also has a lot more history on
I live in Florida I'm from there too but it's really hot it's really pretty here though
I am a resident in Miami, and I honestly prefer Miami. What they didn't include was earthquakes in California, If they mentioned earthquakes it would be a tie.
Earthquakes are overrated unless it's the big one. One average earthquake a year is nothing. Can't say the same about those tropical hurricanes lol
I grew up in Miami and hate it there. Too many no-espeaky Cubanos who love Trump
@@uthinkuknowme2649 Dude Florida gets like 1 major Hurricane every 5-6 years. Idk why outsiders think we get them every year. Smh 🤦🏽♂️ we had Ian this year, before that, Irma in 2017, before that, Charley in 2004. Stop acting like we get major Hurricanes every year. We don’t. Most “Hurricanes” that hit us is no different than a typical storm
Wrong; I lived in CA for 40 years and the earthquakes are very dangerous if you are directly underneath the epicenter and most times you will not feel anything. Unlike FL which has major hurricanes every year with billions in damages and deaths.
@@BadgerCheese94 Im in Miami and nothing worse than Cubanos for Trump. Talk about forgetting where they came from.
Looks like Cali scores it, but I’m not shocked! I lived in FL all of my live (16 yrs), and just got bored so in case I randomly roam to Cali, this is helpful ❤
Florida is a lot cheaper, so if u wanna go somewhere to visit, go to Florida, the fucking crocs are scary, I personally prefer California, not for the beaches,, but for the mountains, so it’s a matter on what you prefer, Florida people are a little more friendly tho
Florida
You named a theme park and two museums for attractions in Florida…
Florida for sure but in the future gonna live in Cali
I Love California And I Like Florida 🙂
What is your favorite my favorite is Cali
Florida costs $$$ to travel to for a Californian like me.
Nick Carlson Cali is way more expensive than FL
Fun fact us Florida residents get annual passes for universal and Disney under $200
@@tinthings314 it's true my family rents a condo here in Flagler Beach Florida and pay $1000
