    This is absolutely beautiful footage! Thank you so much for posting it. Thank you also for showing these horses while still wild. I've never seen them first hand, I always thought there would be a time and a place. But, life happens and it hasn't happened yet. Sadly, the way these horses are being removed, "eradicated" or worse, I may never see them. I appreciate those like yourselves that photograph these wild horses and give them names and explain their personalities along with their families and history. Sadly, then I will look for them at a sanctuary after a round up-hoping they got a place to land, even though they lose much of their family. I made a comment once on a post and someone clapped back saying that they are nothing but livestock and they have no ties to each other, other than instinct. Like cattle. Well, I happen to also see cattle as something more than cattle. To me they are big dopey puppies that say moo instead of an Arf...but they have more smarts than those that round up these horses. Thank you ever so much.

      Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! Like you, I sometimes get the derogatory remark that the horses are just "feral" or worse, desert rats. I know these are just ignorant people. I've been around horses all my life and know how smart and sensitive they are, especially the family bond. I also raised cattle in the midwest for 23 years, but I didn't get cheap $1.30 per head per month leases on them. I hope you get to see the wild horses in person some day! There is nothing like it! Thousands are being rounded up in the west as we speak, with many dying at the hands of our BLM government workers.

    The helicopter roundups emotionally upset me ! I would love to have property to adopt as many as I could . I've been following people who adopt and gentle them . Some are better than others ! I'm older now , but still fantasize about a life with mustangs , horses ! Beautiful film today ! Thank you ❣️🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎 you're right, the best things in life are Free 👍♥️🇺🇸

      I think there are many others who share your dream of saving our wild horses. There are many good wild horse rescues and groups who do a great job adopting horses. There are also ones who take advantage of people and try to get money by playing on our emotions. You have to do the research and see what they are actually doing to help the horses.

    I’m 80 years old, I have loved horses since I was a very little girl. I finally got a horse when I was 48, I was almost to old to ride. My back was really bad. I didn’t get to ride very much I was in such bad shape, working 2 jobs, midnights and days. I got off work ran to stable feed him and turned him out. Slept couple hours, off to next job. Went barn after work fed him brushed him, and tucked him in. My daily routine. He was as rescue, half Arabian and half mustang w extremely long mane and tail. I truly loved that horse… I just found this section on wild horses, I’m really enjoying these videos. It makes me so happy to see these beautiful creatures free ranging. Do you know anything about Cloud and his band of mares?

      If I ever get that way I’d love to go sit and watch horses with you. I’ve been to all states but Wyoming, Idaho, North Dakota and Montana. Of course that’s where all the Mustangs are. Have you ever been to Assteague islands on east coast to see wild ponies? It’s really cool. My daughter took me. I just have a few more bucket lists left, mustangs is one of them. I’ve been to Cabo and went 6-8 miles from shore in a canvas Jacque Cousteau raft in a pod of 12- 17 humpbacks rubbing bottom of boat and gentle spy hopping on sides….now that was the rush of a lifetime…WOW

    Once the stallions get their mares, do they mate with every one of them ? and then this creates families for the stallion depending on many mares he gets So, then he protects all of them an the babies. Is this how these wild horses expand? then the fighting starts over again so its just ongoing repetition an the familes break off . This would take some time for the colts to grow older to start the process all over again Is this how this works Karen? lol I think it sounds funny when I think about what I am saying Im just guessing, this makes sense to me Ive never watched so many horse videos I like yours the best , so I hang here more often Ha

    • @karenkingart
      @karenkingart  Рік тому +1

      Hi Sandra, yes, you guessed right. The stallions protect their mares and foals. Most of the scuffles happen when the young colts reach the age of 5-7 and hormones make them try to steal mares from another stallion. Thank you for watching!
