I was born with a love for horses. I remember my mom telling me when I was as about 3 or 4 how the trash man would come down our alley in a horse drawn wagon. She said that I would say isn’t that horse beautiful, well that poor old horse was sway back and on it’s last legs. Every time I see horses I melt. I was so blest to own or maybe he owned me a sweet gelding for many years. Thank you for your videos.

Hello Len, We want to thank you again for doing these documentary's. I have used them over and over again.. Your friends, Connie Childers (Crazy Horse Country Store) and Denise Bensusan.... CERBAT MOUNTAIN DWELLERS....smile...... Hope to see you again soon!
Your passion and these videos are so awesome. You probably know that they have added a rider to legislation current day that HEALTHY HORSES CAN BE KILLED IF NOT ADOPTED OUT BY BLM! We are fighting this legislation but this administration seems set on eliminating these majestic animals. I keep asking WHY ARE YOU REMOVING THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE? Part of the answer is that ranchers claim they grazing too much, drinking too much water...horses are far less destructive to the environment and quite frankly the herds numbers are small... Cattle completely destroy the land, they pull up everything, root and all. The land becomes barren and increases flooding. We should be supporting the increase of the herd, not the opposite. These horse are our friends, we seem them almost every day.....and its not just this herd its wild horses all over this nation....You already know this, sorry for running on. BUT....your videos have helped raise awareness, especially in our own community. THANK YOU for making it available to us. I often wonder what has happened to humanity and especially why our government comes up with such ruthless and cruel ideas. P.S. Saw the white stallion on the ridge this morning....he says hello! SMILE I believe that he has a colt from the black mare....
Denise Bensusan Denise "They" seem to be out to eliminate all the wild animals. Where I live there has been unlimited number of deer that are legally being killed during hunting season for multiple years. It used to be only 1 maybe 2 permits per hunter. This seems to be happening all over.

The slaughter pipeline in the U.S. sends our horses over the borders to Canada and Mexico where they have no regulations and these animals die a brutal torturous death usually slaughtered alive! Make horse and burrow slaughter illegal.
I made a longer, investigative documentary that chronicled this. I shelved the piece so my little girl could grow up without seeing it. When she gets older and on her own I'll post again.
Thank you so much for loving and reaching out to these beautiful horses. I tried for a long time, probably 10+ years ago to stop the Slaughter of ALL our American Horses. I wasn't by myself for sure. I emailed, called Congressmen telling them exactly how I felt about the BLM inhumanely rounding up the Wild horses, sending them to holding pens, and to Slaughter. Where so many of them ended up at. Seems the best they could do is STOP the meat Inspectors from working at the Horse Slaughter Dumps in this country. But they wouldn't go any further than that. Which did close down the Slaughter Houses (for horses) in this country. Since then all our horses have been sent to Slaughter in Canada and even worse Mexico.. WHY DIDN'T THEY STOP THEM FROM BEING SHIPPED OR TAKEN OUTSIDE OUR BORDERS? And in very recent years there has been a few horse slaughter places trying to open back up in this country. They found a way to get around the meat inspections, or were trying to. They don't want the American People to know what they are doing. I know the KILLER BUYERS are hitting the Auctions all over the country, buying up any horse, pony, mule or burro they can. Including from people who want to find a good home for their beloved pony or horse, because of expense or medical issues they can't take care of them properly anymore. They will lie to you, telling you that they will be going to a good home, and be well cared for and loved. They want to make you vomit if or when you find out exactly where your beloved pet, friend, companion actually ended up at. I know because this happened to me back in the 1970's. I still see my pony's face looking back at me in a trailor, with other horses in it, like "Please help me. Why are you sending me away from all I have ever known?" When I found out what this man did for a living, "A KILLER BUYER." I was so sick inside, and have never forgot it. One of my Uncles knew the guy and told me the truth. Do these kind of people have no compassion or heart? Do they think these horses do not know their fate? At the Slaughter Pens, all these horses do know, for they smell death and hear the cries and moans of those driven up the shutes to be slaughtered. They are petrified, whinnying for someone to SAVE THEM. Google: Horse Slaughter houses in Mexico. You can watch the horror of it all. If you can sit through these video's on youtube, you'll never forget it. About like taking your dog, who's a part of your family, that you love so much, and seeing them being put through this kind of death. The Wild Horses in our country are suppose to be protected from the round ups, killing, destroyed due to the Acts passed by Congress in the early 1970's. All due to one woman, which they called her Wild Horse Annie (not her real name.) It is ALL ABOUT MONEY AND GREED, and nothing less. And as usual Congress People we Elect to Represent the WILL OF THE PEOPLE, who truly don't give a damn. Now the BLM has a new job too: Driving Ranchers off their property (from lies they are told to make up) and homes they have lived on for Generations, so that Politicians like Harry Reid of Nevada and his dealings with China, selling off our OPEN RANGE and the Ranches/Homes these people were forced off of, Hillary Clinton. Hillary made a deal with the Russian Government to let them take our Uranium from off these ranches and open ranges in our Western States. If you read the Constitution, our Founding Fathers stated that they felt any OPEN RANGE'S should belong to the Respective States They Were Located In. So, the OPEN RANGE, DOES "NOT" BELONG TO OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, BUT THE STATES they lie in. Which still means: THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! Like the BUNDY FAMILY IN NEVADA. Who are jailed and those who came to stand up with them giving their support by being there for them, because they exercised their Constitutional RIGHTS-PEACEFULLY.
@Karen Patterson that's not true. But that is what pro slaughter people want you to believe. Watch some real UA-cam videos of actual horse slaughters taken in the house of horror, i.e. slaughter house. The horses are terrified as they're run into the crammed narrow corridors to trap them while savage men lean over from above and stab them on their withers area attempting to sever a nerve to paralyze them, then they're strung upside down with hooks to their back fetlocks, then they slit their throats while fully conscious whether paralyzed or not. Then skinned alive. They are also skinned alive BEFORE their throats are slit. Unlike cattle, Bolt stun guns do not work on their skulls due to the shape of their cranium (skull).
Thank you Ron. Kingman, AZ is the closest town. Well you could say Chloride, on the west side of the Cerbat mountains, but I did most of my filming on the east side, north out of Kingman.
They are catching feral horses in the four corners area and they are rumored to be going to horse slaughter over seas primarily France. I also read they are going to Canada and Mexico.
Carl Yung said, "If you think along the lines of nature then you think properly" I'm relating wild horses to the most complex human condition. ...and I find similarities.
Thank you so much for the films! Well done. So hope and pray we can save them. The horse in the trailor broke my heart. God love him he could smell the death.
I suppose mustangs are invasive or feral. However, the horse evolved in North America. The horse, it’s entire evolutionary history has taken place in North America. Roughly 55 million years, up to 10,000 years ago the wild horse has existed in North America. Though 10,000 years ago it is consensually that is around the time the horse went extinct. There is fossil evidence of horses existing North America up to 7,000 years ago, at least in small populations. I have also heard of some other fragmentary evidence demonstrating horses may have been in North America even longer. Supposedly a 3,000 year old horse tooth was found in Mexico and a skull was found Nevada by archeologists who assumed it must have belonged to a misting or burro because it appeared as though the skull was recent. Turns out the skull was thousands of years old as well just well preserved. I feel as though a world without the wild horse would be much less wild and intact compared to the world of the past, of our human ancestors. If the the wild horse doesn’t belong in North America where else?
it so odd that Nevada is really the only protected location of wild horses when there alot of wild horses in Arizona as well so if only Nevada and Arizona have wild horses still roaming and the horses in Arizona are almost all Spanish horses i think its messed up that they are not being protected but yet are still allowed to being rounded up and sold
I pray that when God has decided that he is finished with this corrupt, greedy, deceitful, wicked, mess that we call Earth, that he will take the mustangs with us and they will live forever in pastures with everlasting fountains of pristine, clear, cool water. They are his creation. He has given us stewardship of this land and his creation. I thank God for your stewardship and others around the state of Arizona. They seem to be a little more bent toward common sense and working toward a harmonious outcome.
That guys real lucky to get that close to wild horses. I agree with him on one thing, horse slaughter is just cruel and evil. I wish there was many more people like him. (well, there's many people against animal abuse but you guys know what I mean.) STOP HORSE SLAUGHTER!
Belgians are drafts, sometimes spelled draught...wikipedia lists sorrel as reddish and buckskin as more yellowish gray....so I am afraid I will have to stand by my initial impressions and thoughts. The fact that you paid that close to detail is impressive though.
they where brought here by Spain when they brought them here they brought them to not only to take over the natives but also to go through America but when they seen how larger it was and that there wasn't gold Spain just claimed America as their land and instead of taking the horses back down to Mexico they let them go in America but Spain brought all of those horses to travel through norther America and they brought donkeys for gold and travel in South America cuz the train was alot tougher
Those mustangs look pretty healthy. Few ribs are showing, some are even a little fat. Mustangs are "mutts" horse breed wise but carry good genes for strong hooves, good immune systems, and strong bones. Frankly Mustang genes will help strengthen domestic horse genes (like thoroughbred horses) due to poor human breeding.
I don't understand why the animal rights organization hasn't done something about those poor little burrows being mistreated. These men need to be treated the same way. It was in another video. Just made me sick.
You know Len... Gus even says in this video they are mutts. Very little blood of Spanish stock in that herd.... As you well know. This vid is more corect than the first, but answer how that white horse got there?
I hate slaughtering of animals like horse shame on those people who eats horse meat horse is specially made for human beings to pet and survive for long time save huge and best animal like 🐴 horse its my humble reqest please
So many of you people commenting are obviously utterly devoid of a working knowledge of what is involved to provide food for you and the rest of America. The ranchers who want excess horses taken off the range do so because, just like Len Johnson, they have families to care and provide for. They have long-established, LEGAL contracts with the Federal government that go back generations that guarantee them so much grazing/year. Their ranches are run based on those contracts. And no, no, NO, they are not a bunch of multimillionaires. Most make at best working class incomes. After all, if the horses are grazing marginal land, so are the ranchers' cattle and sheep. So the animals are spread widely over the land and take a lot of space. So next time you want to say the cattle and sheep are on YOUR public land, no, they are on land the government leased to the ranchers' ancestors long before most of you were born. The ranchers have a LEGAL Right to use that land. PERIOD!
Chip my family ran a cattle and sheep ranch in Montana, so no one gets your perspective more than I do. What is so vague, and I believe at the heart of the problem, is your comment "the ranchers who want excess horses taken off the range do so because they have families to care and provide for." Which range, and how much is excess? How were the horses counted? What is a fair number of cattle on which range? I would also say that if cattle ranchers are leasing public land, it is our land. Sometimes those leases are what most would consider a bargain. Some cattle operations are run by millionaires. Most aren't. At the heart of what you're saying, to me, is that the mom and pop cattle farmer has a right to the land, and I couldn't agree more. But you've left out the horse's right to the land, and balancing both cattle and horses is not a simple issue. If we don't believe wild horse herds have a right to the land, then it becomes more simple, I suppose.
Yes you are right deer are very intelligent and loving! One doe would come in the yard and eat apples off the old crab apple tree, she excepted me the dog, chicken and ducks swatting flys with juice dripping out of both sides of her cheeks, she would bring her babies who would nurse or stare at its new surroundings. I miss her New Jersey gave $1. Permits to all farmers to kill a deer in the field if found there.criminal in my opinion.
In Utah, near Magna, the Oquirrh Mountains, and, I think, nearer Herriman, all Salt Lake County, Utah, USA, do they still sell the wild horses (maybe burros) to other countries for their food? The Cowboy, Bureau of Land Management Head Man in charge of these Wild Mustangs, Wild Horses, and Wild Burros brought in to the corral there in the corner of the valley, near Bingham town, told me as I had only once spent a six to eight hour day standing by the corral looking at a few of the wild ones of the multiple desert herds corralled there. He said he was going to transfer somewhere, he told because he knew, he knew he hated that too. Former President Obama was in charge, well, after 2007 before 2015/6. Certainly during former Pres. Obama's administration. Pro-Choice, Euthanasia, Abortion, and Forced Contraception and Forced Sterilization of Horses. 🐎 Native Americans know how to naturally keep these Treasures of Horses naturally without young offspring and naturally keep the land fertile and replenishing with bounty. Have you seen the documentary that the scientists found near Snake River in the USA, a skeleton of a horse older than the Pietriski (sorry I spelled wrong that name of the oldest horse previously known). The horses were extinct during a time here in the USA. In Utah there were horses with the zebra stripe on the knee when the BofLM first brought in Wild Horses for adoption by people. A recall was officially issued. The gov. took the Wild Horses with the knee stripe away. No known information since, at least as I know.,👩🌾🐎🦅🐜🕊️🐎 I forgot, Russia, too, found an old skeleton of a foal about 40,000 older. The Snake River Horse skeleton was older, by at least one million years, if I recall. I just remembered, that BLM Cowboy suggested they sort of sent them away...I kind of understood they hid them....but he talked of how horses scream at butcher houses....he said that was hard....he, as I knew had to lov horses and I do too...🐎🕊️🦅👩🌾🐜🐑🐎🦅🇺🇸 Palominos are intelligent, saying the horses are stupid is just a ruse to own them instead or to give away a "a no interest attitude" to take those horses away from new people. Native Americans should rule over Wild, Horses, Yes Burros too, for they know riches and Treasures and Life and Love and Warrioring....well, at least have a say-so...they have opinions...good ones.
I love horses!! But your Nuts!! The herd Sherbet if thats the way you spell it, are special and few. But wild horses are over populated and need to be slaughtered in a human way. For anyone to think that there is a Abundance of food and water in the wild is Nuts!! The ugly truth hurts and some men cant Stomach it. Thats why there is there rest of us men. I love them horses so much that im willing to except the truth!
If you're willing to "except" the truth, then that means you want to delete, or get rid of the truth. I couldn't agree more with you, in that case. If you want to accept the truth, then maybe you can join me in a herd of wild horses the next time I film them. It's a rush, man.
Len most of the horses r not of Spanish decent they r just strays i will say the horse's u filmed may b more Spanish then most but most r not there just strays and i don't want my taxes bing wasted on them we can't save them all and there's only sow much grass and do you realise how many horse's in public hands that r starving do u owe horse's and do you understand what is happening to horse's that r in private hands now that there's no place to really sell a horse for meat

Amen, you are right on the mark. Thank you for sharing this!
They never gave the First People back their land what makes you think they will give these horses back land man is greedy.
Good video! What was the closest town to where these fine horses are located?
Thank you Ron. Kingman, AZ is the closest town. Well you could say Chloride, on the west side of the Cerbat mountains, but I did most of my filming on the east side, north out of Kingman.
They seem to really like it when you sing to them!
I keep the singing brief! Thank you...
I Love ♥️ Horses
Thank you🌷
You're welcome and thanks for the kind remark!
thanks len for this video
Grossartig - DANKE from Germany
They are catching feral horses in the four corners area and they are rumored to be going to horse slaughter over seas primarily France. I also read they are going to Canada and Mexico.
Why are they not considered an endangered species? They are totally beautiful. Breaks my heart.
They are part of American history.
I agree but so is the Native American what happened to them?
Carl Yung said, "If you think along the lines of nature then you think properly" I'm relating wild horses to the most complex human condition. ...and I find similarities.
That is so well put! Absolutely true. Thank you for writing it.
Good program
We need to teach the young children of today about the mustangs and about all wildlife that's how they stick we keep them alive
wow! thank you
where in AZ are these horses i'm from yuma and have only been to the salt river going to be adding a video of my last trip
The Cerbat Mountains are by Kingman and Golden Valley.
That lead mare looks preggers haha
Love them Horses
From where do they get water, as they may need to drink 10 liters of water a day or more?
they must protect all wild horses
Love them
Thank you so much for the films! Well done. So hope and pray we can save them. The horse in the trailor broke my heart. God love him he could smell the death.
Thank you Donna! Broke mine too. They need some love and don't we all.
These horses must be saved!
Look at that black line down his back!
Cade os mustangue selvagens da América que sumiu
Are thy related to Andalusians?
Estou esperando
it so odd that Nevada is really the only protected location of wild horses when there alot of wild horses in Arizona as well so if only Nevada and Arizona have wild horses still roaming and the horses in Arizona are almost all Spanish horses i think its messed up that they are not being protected but yet are still allowed to being rounded up and sold
They seem to be
a little more bent toward common sense and working toward a harmonious outcome.
Does god know how to back a trailer?
I think you mean that you hope God will take US with the mustangs! ♥️💕
Beautiful words and I appreciate you writing this!
❤️
Was looking for horses?
That guys real lucky to get that close to wild horses. I agree with him on one thing, horse slaughter is just cruel and evil. I wish there was many more people like him. (well, there's many people against animal abuse but you guys know what I mean.) STOP HORSE SLAUGHTER!
Thanks you have kind words and a warm soul, you can tell.
That was not a buckskin colored draft horse. It was a sorrel Belgian.
Belgians are drafts, sometimes spelled draught...wikipedia lists sorrel as reddish and buckskin as more yellowish gray....so I am afraid I will have to stand by my initial impressions and thoughts. The fact that you paid that close to detail is impressive though.
Oh and sorry it took 11 months to get back. I was pondering.
they where brought here by Spain when they brought them here they brought them to not only to take over the natives but also to go through America but when they seen how larger it was and that there wasn't gold Spain just claimed America as their land and instead of taking the horses back down to Mexico they let them go in America but Spain brought all of those horses to travel through norther America and they brought donkeys for gold and travel in South America cuz the train was alot tougher
I thought it was time to give the horse a name
I wish I had the money to save them all. 😢
God Love you for that Sarah.
These horses are not mutts.
Good man right hear it one thing to slatter and then their is being crule im shour thier is a price on your head
If we don't believe wild horse herds have a right to the land, then it becomes more simple, I suppose.
your full of shit the ranch
ers can plant pasture and fence it off the horses dont ravage the land like cattle
its crazy that they almost always release the white stallion cuz of how rare they can be
Yes you are right deer are very intelligent and loving!
夕陽のガンマンが似合いそう。
They belong in wild not on someone’s dinner plate
This should be brought to attention of President Trump. He would sign a bill protecting them.
Trump can’t even sign his tax returns
@@antifatits Made me laugh Antifa, made me laugh.
They are already protected, that is why there is so much inbreeding resulting in inferior quality and over population in some areas.
@@antifatits appropriate name you've selected, hope you're happy with the shit show Joe's running for obama and soros.
Adopt them or move them
Len most of the horses r not of Spanish decent they r just strays i will say the horse's u filmed may b more Spanish then most but most r not there just strays and i don't want my taxes bing wasted on them we can't save them all and there's only sow much grass and do you realise how many horse's in public hands that r starving do u owe horse's and do you understand what is happening to horse's that r in private hands now that there's no place to really sell a horse for meat
i doubt there was much grass in that terrain there living in be serious
😭😭😭🤣🤣😅🇪🇸🇪🇸
It's a shame you didn't tell the hole story there just farrow horse's the Spanish mustang is gone and your just playing on people's emotions
Kent, "whole", "you're", and the plural possessive "peoples'" is what I believe you meant. I encourage you to talk to Gus Cothran, who has blood tested these horses. I would also advocate you telling your side of the story. It's a lot of work.
Tell that to texas a & m research on the genetics of the mustangs
