I remember when i first started playing wow rly late into legion. Saw this shiny piece of content making me spend 1000 nethershards just for each try. So a noob I was I did TOS for gear (yes in Antorus raid tier) and only did +5 dungeons max. And this mage tower would end up being one of the toughest challenge in any video game I ever played. As sad as I am for not knowing better then to get all the weapon appearances I wanted back then, I’m happy now knowing the mage tower is properly hard these days and then feel the satisfaction for its reward when I managed to beat it
Wow that's a pretty cool story haha Ya, the mage tower is really great content overall, and since you mentioned it, I can say the thing I like the most about it right now. Infinite attempts without any currency attached. None to enter, and most importantly, you can actually do it again after you beat it! How was that ever not the case is beyond me, but it opens so many doors haha.
I was under the assumption that these challenges were done with pre-set templates as to make it completely a skill based challenge, rather than some half-assed attempt at scaling that completely fucks you if you decide to not waste thousands of gold on gear, flasks, gems, food buffs etc etc. only to get blasted into the nether in a tanking challenge because... f#$k you, do it again. The druid skin is my only motivation to keep going, because the fight itself is absolute garbage that does nothing but test my patience. Otherwise a very well done video, very informative.
What I did is set up characters that help the ones I wanted to do it on get the gear and stuff they needed. Was quite fun and really encourages you to play the whole game, not just the current expansion. But at the end of the day, I have to agree with you about how dumb the tank challenge is. It really has nothing to do with tanking haha Keep at it, its not as hard as it sounds.
Grabbing a ravaged seed pod from emerald nightmare is a tremendous boon for the effort. Farming the whole set felt like wasted time that I could have spent pulling more times and improving my play.
I doubt the jailer weapon works with the mage tower, but I don't own it. In terms of weapons, there are also the garrosh heirlooms that have 2 sockets too that can be very useful.
@@heythereguysitsMetro As of about 2 weeks ago the Jailer weapon works in mage tower and scales pretty nicely actually. It was about 10% of my damage on fury warrior mage tower and that's with target swapping/add killing a lot, so might be even more significant on a pure single target challenge.

2x wow really? I only gained like 150 dps from switching to this gear haha Maybe its different as other classes. But overall, I suppose I agree. If you spend no time on your gear, its quite difficult. But with some hours, it does make it easier. I quite like the premise of that for alts. Working on hunter next!
I did all Tank challenges within the first 2 days when they re-released back in Dezember. Before all nerfs even to the „bugged“ DK mechanic of the adds keep following you while casting. Took some try’s mostly due to knockbacks in P1. Only gear change was the respective WOD trinket. Didn’t consider it unfair or really that hard. The Havoc DPS challenge is much more frustrating than all the tank ones.
@@heythereguysitsMetro The sheer amount of incoming damage, scaled up from other dps doing the Same challenge (like arms warrior, which was pretty easy). And havoc is basically rng when it comes to selfheal due to soul spawning, if you dont use any ˋcheating enchantˋ. If you dont get enough random souls when you are out of cc options then the challenge is over without you having any impact on that. And the whole ice spikes mechanic doesnt always work as it should (considering the hitboxes), oneshotting you randomly. This was also the case with warrior. Every 10th leap or so to escape just killed you, while the other times you took no dmg whatsoever.
If you are after the bookmount i would use monk for Tank and Windwalker, warrior for agatha and nexus, druid for heal, frostmage for Twins and retpala for the last one. In Order to minimize the amount of used classes whilst having the easiest time with easy to learn speccs (not touching that cursed arcan mage again)

Ya, that's a fair way to look at it, although some one is claiming doing so doubled their DPS so idk. The seedpod was absolutely huge though!
Question if i have 272 wep haste/verse is it better than the jailer weapon no matter what as a blood dk?

I found it alot harder then in Legion but with the pvp set and old food/enchants I did like 2x more dps (mage) and it was way easier then without.
