From what was said, the land was given free to build on. That's great. But what was not said was: - is there property taxes? - how much did it cost to build that beautiful home? - is it expensive to live there?
To answer to your questions: 1. The Sultanate of Oman does not levy any taxes on personal income, including income from capital gains or property 2. I don’t know about this specific house, it depends on how many floors it has and the size of it but let’s say a medium sized house costs around 50.000 OMR (Oman rial) to be built 3. The south of Oman is not expensive in terms of rents (100 to 200 OMR per month for a flat) and food
I’m not staying there anymore but I know they are planting some small trees - it’s not always easy to grow them in Oman given the heat, they need a lot of water
Thank you for this a great video a bout my home city Salalah your house is nice! how you can stay a lone in such big house? how about Khareef... I know it is expensive

Life is much more peaceful in Oman than my own country (Italy). I guess you are in Al Sifah? I’m going there soon to check for an investment in real estate
Nice big house. My query is, there doesn't seem to be many other people in the neighbourhood/nearby. So if you are a family person with kids then your kids will not have many other kids to play with. Also, this being in such remote place, how quick are you likely to get ambulances/emergency services if you needed? Basically, you can't live there without having 1 or 2 cars.
I’m single so it was ok for me - and I didn’t stay all year long there, I like less secluded places - but for people with kids it might not be the best option. However, for any emergency the Sultan Qaboos Hospital is just around 15 minutes away

I’ve never seen a house with a bathtub in the south of Oman, I think it’s because people there have to save water as it’s very dry for most of the year
Hi, my sponsor told me that it costs around 200 OMR (Oman Rial) a month to rent a villa like that one in that area. I don’t know the price in case we want to buy it because foreigners can’t buy in Oman except in designated areas, for example Hawana Salalah or Al Muji in Muscat
I’ve lived in Muscat and never loved it. I feel like it’s a city with no heart, no personality. People are not as friendly as in the south in my opinion. I love Salalah, but it depends on what you look for in a city
Oman doesn't have a retirement visa program like some other countries. Expats need a valid visa to remain in the country (employment). One can buy a property in designated tourist complexes, which allows to obtain a residence visa. In order to find a job in Oman I always suggest to go to Oman and search once in the country. Bear in mind that Oman has a law called “Omanization of Oman”: certain jobs can only be done by Omani (for example tour guiding in English language)
Hi there, excellent vlogs and information. Can you please suggest if 2500 OMR per month are sufficient for a family of three? I mean will I be able to save enough. Please help and advise.
Hello, are you going to be in Muscat or Salalah? The last is cheaper than the capital city in terms of rent and cost of living. It all depends if your son/daughter should attend an international school. If not, then 2500 OMR is more than sufficient. Otherwise, the international school fees I’ve heard being very high
Please guide us about hidden taxes, government polices regarding real estate. What about water and sewerage system. What about storms, earthquake... what about police? Court system. Any corruption there. Please make a video on these topics. Thanks
It was good! It’s safe and quiet, better than Italy for some aspects. It’s very good if you are a family or a couple. For singles it can be a little boring (in Salalah). That’s my personal opinion, because I do not go to clubs or meet expats there
@@toohappytobehomesick You right we are not much just 2m ppl and oman is big land. I am Omani btw. I asked just so that we can make oman better for anyone. the guests are important to us. 😂exactly but when I was in Salalah or Muscat I knew many Omani and expats were going to clubs at hotels 😀 I am personally not interested in that life anymore eh eh
The area is called Awqad-near Raysut port and I did not pay any rent because it is my sponsor’s family property. The rent of a villa like this one is usually around 300 OMR a month
@@toohappytobehomesick honestly we don’t know !! So I never heard in Muscat that Omanis got land for free from the government! Maybe in rural areas where no one wants to live. Definitely not in Muscat. A plot starts easily at 100 000 omr and upwards for around 600 m2 depending where in Muscat.
Hi! My sponsor told me that the land is usually 600 sqm and it’s yours forever. The 99 years ownership rule applies to foreigners who buy a property in the Sultanate

Hi there, excellent vlogs and information. Can you please suggest if 2500 OMR per month are sufficient for a family of three? I mean will I be able to save enough.
In my opinion it’s a good salary for Salalah, life is not expensive here at all. But you have to see what school your kids will attend. International schools are expensive in Oman like anywhere in the world I think

Are you renting this villa or. You own it? AA and how much can such a villa cost
It was not mine but my sponsor’s brother one, I stayed there for free while working there
@@toohappytobehomesick ok thanks
how much is a house like this worth in Salaleh Oman?
Khareef is Arabic for Autumn
And that’s right now in Salalah 😀
Hi there, excellent vlogs and information. Can you please suggest if 2500 OMR per month are sufficient for a family of three? I mean will I be able to save enough. Please help and advise.
Hello, are you going to be in Muscat or Salalah? The last is cheaper than the capital city in terms of rent and cost of living. It all depends if your son/daughter should attend an international school. If not, then 2500 OMR is more than sufficient. Otherwise, the international school fees I’ve heard being very high
How much rent did you pay monthly
I didn’t pay because it was my sponsor’s brother house
Nice Vlog Thankyou.I watch your every episode really very beautiful.
Thanks a lot!
Hy i am also live Salalah
Nice! I love Salalah
Nice video. Caio from italy
Hello there! Ciao! 😀
@@toohappytobehomesick how is life in oman. Can we have some communication
your title in Arabic and English are not same, in English ( this was) in Aarbic ( i live in this house )
I asked someone to translate my title in Arabic 🫢
Please guide us about hidden taxes, government polices regarding real estate. What about water and sewerage system. What about storms, earthquake... what about police? Court system. Any corruption there. Please make a video on these topics. Thanks
Wow! Oman looks amazing! Can I ask what you do for a living?
I’m a content creator for UA-cam and a tour guide + I organise tours of Oman
how was your life in oman?
It was good! It’s safe and quiet, better than Italy for some aspects. It’s very good if you are a family or a couple. For singles it can be a little boring (in Salalah). That’s my personal opinion, because I do not go to clubs or meet expats there
@@toohappytobehomesick You right we are not much just 2m ppl and oman is big land. I am Omani btw. I asked just so that we can make oman better for anyone. the guests are important to us. About clubs, I understand if the tourist is a teenager. 😂😂😂But if he is an adult and has children and still go to clubs this is strange🤣
😂exactly but when I was in Salalah or Muscat I knew many Omani and expats were going to clubs at hotels 😀 I am personally not interested in that life anymore eh eh
I have never been to Salalah but it must be a beautiful place. I live in Sifah in Muscat
@@toohappytobehomesickme too i prefer riding around with my Escooter and have some local thing in local small shops on the road. Also just chill out
how much do you pay for rent and what areA IS THIS CALLED?
The area is called Awqad-near Raysut port and I did not pay any rent because it is my sponsor’s family property. The rent of a villa like this one is usually around 300 OMR a month
Are there no other colours used besides white and browns there?
These are the colours that remind the sands and desert of Oman 🇴🇲 but sometimes you can also find pink houses 😀
What is the price of house in Salalah???
I don’t know how much it costs to buy or build a house in Salalah, I am sorry
No worries I still like your videos. Love from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦
Aww thanks!! ☺️
I want to come to oman
Can you help out?
My husband is Omani and 39 and he is still waiting for his piece of land in Muscat 😂
Nooo omg 😅why are they so slow lately? What’s the reason behind that?
@@toohappytobehomesick honestly we don’t know !! So I never heard in Muscat that Omanis got land for free from the government! Maybe in rural areas where no one wants to live. Definitely not in Muscat. A plot starts easily at 100 000 omr and upwards for around 600 m2 depending where in Muscat.
@@cellaythwhere are you originally from, may I ask?

@@toohappytobehomesick Good morning I thought you are still there where are you
Good evening I appreciate you for replying me you are really model
I’m in Italy right now
😊
You sod Gov give free land??? Is that 99 years free land or it goes to heirs? How big can be a land? Congratulations you have a nice home ❤❤❤
Hi! My sponsor told me that the land is usually 600 sqm and it’s yours forever. The 99 years ownership rule applies to foreigners who buy a property in the Sultanate
Hi I would like to know. I am French and I want to buy in Salalah how to do ? Please send me your tips thanks.
Hi! Foreigners in Salalah can only buy a house in Hawana hawanasalalah.com/real-estate/
Hi ely. Thanks to answering me. I know about Hawana village. I am not interested. Is it possible to buy a house from Omani people ? And make a contract ?
Not at the moment unfortunately
@@toohappytobehomesick thanks 🙏

No trees, plants or green grass?
In order to have green grass in Oman people should water it 24/h. The same goes for anything you plant, that’s why very few people keep a garden
Hi there, excellent vlogs and information. Can you please suggest if 2500 OMR per month are sufficient for a family of three? I mean will I be able to save enough.
that is more than enough trust me
In my opinion it’s a good salary for Salalah, life is not expensive here at all. But you have to see what school your kids will attend. International schools are expensive in Oman like anywhere in the world I think
Hi very nice vlog, yes salalah weather is different from the GCC countries 3 months rainy season continues, where are from.
Yes, you are right, now it’s khareef season!
I’m from Italy
