    Idk why everybody's being mean. It's a small channel (sub quarter mil, so... "small?") and she tried to put some extra effort into it for us. If you don't like it, by all means, disclose it, but at least be constructive about it. I don't see anyone else here - myself included - making any content. It's easy to be a jerk on the internet because it's impersonal, but you had ought to still at least keep some level of professionalism. You're still talking to real people.
    While I personally didn't enjoy the excess of energy and effort on the hostess' side, I appreciate the effort that she took to produce something she felt was good enough for us to consume and I hope that she keeps making videos, grows her channel to keep providing us with cool shit too watch, and, uh, adjusts her energy levels a bit :P

While the energy and movement was noticeable, I still learned what I was looking for and made it to the end of the video. The info was helpful so thanks for that! Personally I did felt the presentation was distracting, but I know its very difficult to find the balance between gestures, tone of voice and enthusiasm. Maybe trying to forget the camera and imagine you're just talking to one of your family members or your best friend will result in presentations that got that natural feel. Just try to be yourself as natural as posible and the final result will be just great. Thanks for your effort!

    . I have done the basics with the pi and magic mirror. I got the time / weather set. How do you adjust for local news ? After you have the basic, how do you add / personal modules.? I have not been able to find directions or any good how to on youtube to make the changes. May be you could do a video/ a step by step to add modules and adjust the news for your local area.

    Hello Christa, My question is should the monitor be a touchscreen ?

    • @twowaymirrors
      @twowaymirrors  4 роки тому

      Hey there! I recommend starting out with a TV or monitor that is not a touchscreen. When you put the mirror in front it will not allow the touch to work through the mirror. To add touch technology to your smart mirror, you need an IR touch or Touch foil.

  • @picturmik
    @picturmik 5 років тому +1

    How do I incorporate a touch screen? Is that the IR remote thingy you talk about? Or do I purchase a touch screen over lay. Or is the touch screen overlay the IR part you mention. When assembled would it be DIELECTRIC GLASS-TOUCH SCREEN/IR - DISPLAY?
    Could I use a large touch screen monitor then put the dielectric glad in front of it? I'm so close to putting all together in my head,those are the only things left to complete. Thank you so much in advance!

    • @twowaymirrors
      @twowaymirrors  5 років тому +2

      I know, it can be a lot to take in! You'll need a monitor/tv/display, a dielectric mirror (or smart mirror) and IR Touch Overlay to add touch capability to a diy smart mirror project. Then you'll need a frame to hold those three things together. The frame will be the closest layer, then the IR frame, then the glass, then the tv/display will be the last layer furthest away from the front. Check out the article guide I wrote for more details: www.twowaymirrors.com/diy-smart-mirror/

    • @twowaymirrors
      @twowaymirrors  5 років тому

      You are totally right! You definitely do not want to start out with a touch screen because the mirror will make it not work anymore. That is why you need a screen with no touch like a computer monitor or TV, then add the touch by using an IR Touch Overlay. Less commonly... people will use a tablet because they are up-cycling it - just note that once it is behind the mirror you cannot interact with it via touch.
      The terms I used in the video were "IR Touch Overlay" and "Touch Overlay" - both talking about the same thing. You may also need an IR Repeater if you are using a TV (which relocates the eye of the TV) to allow the remote to work through the mirror. This would only be needed if you are framing it right to the screen or are covering the sensor with paint.
