Air flowing over mountains are generally turbulent. Air is a fluid like water. Just imagine water flowing over rocks. This turbulence is nothing compared to what planes are built for. If you see what these planes go through during testing, you’d be shocked. Manufacturers and Regulators ain’t playing around.
This is so normal for flights to and from Bangalore. Always clouds are there and there is heavy turbulence most of the times. So Bangalore people are so used to it.
I can relate to that. I've been in a atr flight, the only one I've got, and it was a really bumpy descent and landing. It had a couple times that the plane actually dropped a few feets. That was my second time ever in a flight, and even though I know that turbulence doesn't crash planes, it was a scary moment for me. Today I find it kinda funny seeing the people freaking out.

Knowledge is key for this situation. Not calling anyone dumb or anything like that. But if they only knew anything about turbulence and flying low over mountains, they would have 100% expected it to be every bit as bad as that was, perhaps not be as panicked. I get it. Crazy sensations of falling not to mention the unexpected steep banks. But just a little bit of knowledge of weather, terrain, and how it affects flight can go a long way. At the end of the day, it may still make their heart race. But like i said. Knowledge and expectations is key.
Yeah...HEAVY doubt on all those comments. Ushuaia airport is just on the other side of these mountains so you end up fairly low and, with bit of wind, it gets rough in a hurry. Most of the time when people talk about "really bad turbulence" it's not even enough for pilots to take note. Though I do agree that I probably would have been upset with the other passengers, too. "I want to get off." Where? You're within 10 minutes of the damn Airport. Just shut up and hold on! Usually you gotta pay good money to feel negative Gs like that!
The reason why this one is so bad is because there isn't much distance between you and the ground. 500 feet drop at 10000ft? Cool maybe some injuries. But 500feet drop so near to the mountains. Rip
I read up on planes over the mountains, and it says that being that low over mountains could produce some of the most severe turbulence. I'm not why these pilots were this low over the andes mountains. If I ever find myself on this same flight one day, I'm going to yell out to everyone to be ready for some insane turbulence.
Because there are a lot of major south american cities literally right along the Andes range and to land in some of these cities your approach puts you real close to the Andes. Landing in some of these south american countries along the Andes has always been some of hardest challenge for aviation and takes tremendous skills.
Nothing worse in an emergency or perceived emergency people panic , woman in particular have that high pitched screech. Frankly no need for it. Especially when kids are likely on the plane too.
Maybe the pilots did give the passengers a heads up. That might be why there's video of the incident posted here. Passnger at a window seat hears a warning about severe turbulence, then gets his phone ready.
Sounds like the same people who scream about everything. I’ve been in much worse turbulence. Some people create panic for no clear reason. Hope I fly with mature people (the adults of course) not the reactionaries. I can understand kids screaming but not the adults. Kids are kids but adults should be adults. Coming into JFK many years ago we had some bad turbulence on the landing approach. Estimated 12ft +\- amplitude on the wing tips. Definitely a large pucker factor but screaming is pointless and could be very counterproductive. Let the pilot concentrate on safely piloting the plane, not the hysterics in the passage compartment.
Can feel how tough you are from here, shame most ordinary people dont know what 12ft+\- amplitude is on a wing tip billy big bollocks, can't you get your head out your arse and understand people fly to get places and don't necessarily know the science behind turbulence, thus installing a bit of fear when they don't know what and why is going on? Fuck that. The pilots should be on the horn letting people know it’s just turbulence and they’re not actually about to die
Everybody has so much to say here in the comments about the passengers reaction but if you were on that plane with them I’m pretty sure you’d be screaming too 🤦♂️
no because people realize it isn't that big of a deal and it's normal
No I wouldn’t, but you obviously would be. Turbulence isn’t a big deal.
Na I'd think it was fun
Turbulance at 10000 feet from the ground can't be compared to this experience when you can see the ground some 500 feet and approaching
In this situation I would laugh my ass off
Cameraman never dies, cameraman never gets panic.
It’s not that easy to be a cameraman.
It’s just like a rollercoaster. You’re strapped in and you’re more than likely not gonna die. I wish more people knew that turbulence isn’t something to be afraid of in a big jet like that
It's better to prepare passengers and just say that our flight will be like roller coaster so relax and take it easy
I have been to same turbulence like this where plane suddenly drops, its kinda scary but people's screaming made me laugh
and once the plane lands, the captain says I hope you enjoyed your flight
I can’t help but laugh at when everyone gets all quiet 😂😂 everyone has to pretend as if they weren’t just screaming their heads off.
What an amazing view!
True, the view is beyond, would love to hike the area.
This is so normal for flights to and from Bangalore. Always clouds are there and there is heavy turbulence most of the times. So Bangalore people are so used to it.
Turbulence is the same thing as a car going over potholes on a highway, the car wobbles and continues to roll smoothly.
Reminds me of Genova- Munich flight on November with ATR. Pure roller-coaster ride
It’s always the rides with the propeller planes that are the most rollercoaster like!
Not to Munich 😭. I live there.
Those passengers are like kids
I was in a flight from Wichita to Houston around Christmas of 95. I’d had a rough couple of days before so I fell asleep right after wheelsuo in Wichita, I didn’t wake up til Houston. The guy sitting next to me said once I woke up, my god how did you sleep through that? I was like sleep through what? Apparently we flew through a real nasty line of storms in Houston, said people were flipping out because it got rough😂

Genius airline business idea. Make it compulsory for the pilots to ensure the passengers how normal it is for turbulence to occur when it does and make them feel calm. Passengers would love this
They do. People aren't screaming cause they think the plane is going down.
The turbulence in this video seemed to be pretty bad.. and would warrant the screams heard
@@squares4ubut you never know what’s happening at the given moment. It might be turbulence but you might be going down

Flying close to that mountain range in the Andes you got overcast clouds through and above you I would have been nervous too to be honest with you
I'm the annoying guy laughing in the plane when people freak out lol
Until you are on that plane without drugs or alcohol in your system and if unlucky enough to not be mentally ill, you would be doing something but laughing ain't what you would be doing.

The legacy of Uruguayan flight 571 in South America would make anybody tremble especially the Andes and if ur aware of the story of that aerial disaster
Turbulence alone has never caused a crash.

I would take a packet of salt and a very sharp knife, Uruguayans do not have a good relationship with the Andes!
@@williamgray9692 no
@@williamgray9692 no, the Uruguay flight struck a mountain. In this video it seems as though the plane is too close to the mountains, add the foggy weather and it’s enough to instill fear of the same possibility.
The turbulence is of little importance. Pay attention to the diminishing ice. It used to be completely covered in ice and now only a small fraction remains. Quite saddening, really.
... And all you can talk about is money and fairytales about economic growth..
“ i want to get off”. meanwhile thousands of feet in the air. what you gonna do jump out? i swear people are so stupid
Exactly! What good is the whining and crying doing. You can’t get off of a roller coaster either so I hope these people never fly again so people don’t have to endure them.

It's Ushuaia. Andes runs west to east in here. Runway is paralel to mountains, over Beagle channel, and when the wind comes from north is a fun ride
Taking off or landing through that terrain was always going to be a bit wobbly. But it did look very scary. Glad you’re all ok 😊
Really enjoy your journey until the plane crashes and everyone dies
People should stop screaming for everything
Knowledge is key for this situation. Not calling anyone dumb or anything like that. But if they only knew anything about turbulence and flying low over mountains, they would have 100% expected it to be every bit as bad as that was, perhaps not be as panicked. I get it. Crazy sensations of falling not to mention the unexpected steep banks. But just a little bit of knowledge of weather, terrain, and how it affects flight can go a long way. At the end of the day, it may still make their heart race. But like i said. Knowledge and expectations is key.
Yeah I'm sure a little bit of knowledge would calm them down.... Bro maybe you lack some knowledge about basic human psychology
Yes it was ignorance
Turbulence: 💨🌬️🌬️
People: 🐒🦅🦧
💀 🙏
Everybody here has been "in worse turbulence than that". Wow, great life !
Rip
Lol.. you wish! There’s no stronger turbulence video on UA-cam to date!
I love turbulence, minus the people screaming. Relax for Heaven’s sake. Planes are made to take far more than your body can.
It's Ushuaia. Andes runs W to E in that city. Runway is paralel to mountains and when the wind comes fron north is a fun ride
That's not the Andes, it's an approach to runway 25 in Ushuaia, in the far south of Argentina.
Normal flight... But the view is awesome !
Nothing worse in an emergency or perceived emergency people panic , woman in particular have that high pitched screech. Frankly no need for it. Especially when kids are likely on the plane too.
Why all the screaming? It’s not like anyone on the ground will hear them, it just stresses everyone else out.
Cool footage
Pilot should definitely have given them a heads up. Would have saved a lot of money on new underpants.
Maybe the pilots did give the passengers a heads up. That might be why there's video of the incident posted here. Passnger at a window seat hears a warning about severe turbulence, then gets his phone ready.
Half the passengers will never fly again. The other half lament that they'll probably never experience the same thrill again.
Mr mature.
Idk. Sounds like they’re scared. Adults get scared too.
Whats a pucker factor if i may ask?
I am sorry not everyone has the same emotional responses as you. I am sorry the World isn’t the way YOU want it to react.
I'm so impressed
Those mountain's looked just a wee bit to close for comfort.
As a Pilot, this is just a normal day of our work. the thing that would stress me out is how i would keep my passengers comfortable and calm. no sarcasm intended
I m absolutely terrified of flying. Reading your comment made me feel better. I hope the next time I fly I trust the technology and the pilots more.
@@lunahd7200 These turbulence are created by mountain waves we called. its really one of the most disturbing turbulence out there u can encounter but rest assured. the plane can take more than what they experienced on this video, we are trained for these kind of situations with upmost professionalism.

Why are they flying so low over these mountains?
The woman looking out the window:
I better watch a movie...

Very beautiful way of reasoning!
I cannot stand people that scream like that during turbulence lol unless the plane is literally going DOWN then shut up 😂
I wish there were a couple of dummies like me, who would have burst-out laughing hysterically at all the screams. I always chuckle at heavy turbulence, it's like a free ride at 7 flags. I'm not the least bit concerned, ever. It's not a state secret that airframes are built for this. As long as I don't catch a drink-cart in the back of the head lol.

i did many time long haul flights from Australia to Europe. Always some turbulence somewhere. U get used to it after a while. And once I was flying from Sydney to Brisbane, it was a fairly small plane, and it flew through really strong wind, was quite a roller coaster ride, but I was just lying down on the seats as the plane was almost empty and couldn't be bothered with the turbulence. Screaming won't help u anyway if it's gonna crash!
@@vivi6121 Like you said you flew a lot and your brain basically got used to the sensation and disassociated it from danger. For people that only travel by plane once a year or even less, the lizard brain is fully active and it really doesn't not like the sensation of dropping. I know flight theory, I know that the kind of aerodynamic forces that could snap an airliner wing would also cause the average person to pass out, I know that a well trained pilot will never fly into a red radar return yet I still get sweaty palms when I saw that we are about to skirt those intense Texan summer storm. That damn lizard brain.

The reactions you’re hearing on this flight are a prime example of why something like COVID became the worldwide “terror” that it did. Human beings are typically uninformed and highly emotional creatures. All this carrying on was completely unnecessary and would diminish in a heartbeat if people knew just how much turbulence these commercial airliners are able to withstand. Hysteria is simply a human condition, unfortunately.
This sure is the all too common hysteria that causes people to be irrational
I think people got upset from covid due to all the people that died actually...
