Why Japanese Brands Hate Electric Cars?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 кві 2024
- Toyota only has 1 electric car in its arsenal, honda has 2, Nissan has 2, and Mitsubishi and Suzuki have 0 electric cars in their lineup.
we have noticed that Japanese brands are not looking interested in producing electric cars.
And that's the exact opposite of what every other brand from every other country is doing,
So what Japanese brands are exactly up to? do they have any other better technology? or they are going to be doomed.

Toyota introduced hybrid and boom , it's fully successful
The Japanese are absolutely right in their assessment of Battery Electric Vehicles. What blackpilled me about BEVs is the stance of Toyota itself. Toyota never wholeheartedly committed to this madness. Mind you, they were one of the early investors in Tesla, which they later removed. They strongly believed in hydrogen and FCEVs as the future of automobiles. I had read back in 2014 that Toyota was working on a plan to mass-market solid-state battery tech by 2022 and later on hydrogen FCEVs. But the Tesla frenzy and, more importantly, the great dieselgate threw a big wrench into those plans.
As rightly pointed out in your video, there are several fundamental problems with EVs to begin with, like the scarcity of rare earth materials, most of whose mines are owned by China and maybe Musk. Charging Infra, and long charging hours, range anxiety etc. And the environmental friendliness of BEVs is just pure BS because you are just offloading the emissions onto the electricity generation plants, which in all probability are being run by coal. Even today, they are putting their resources behind hydrogen ICEs and FCEVs, and I think when this EV fever subsides, because we are still in the EV honeymoon period, the Japanese are going to have the last laugh. Even the Koreans still have maintained their hydrogen FCEV program amid EV madness. During a time when the world was captivated by aircrafts, the Japanese revolutionized long-distance travel with the Shinkansen.
I am rooting for the Japanese. Hope they succeed.
We need Biodiesel or ethanol cars and bikes. I wish Indian govt. too was promoting them instead of mindlessly pushing for EVs.
Run everything on Methane. You can make a lot of it by utilising the waste like cow dung, waste vegetable peels and rotting fruits, and basically any plant based thing. Today, it goes in with other garbage, where it decomposes and releases Methane into the atmosphere, which is 28 times more powerful greenhouse gas than CO2. Using it as fuel, is hence, Carbon negative. Also it needs to be stored at just 200 bars, and since it doesn't corrode metals, it can be stored in cheap, normal, steel cylinders used for CNG (which is about 60% methane), unlike Hydrogen requiring ultra expensive composite tanks. And on top of that, it's much more energy dense than petrol and diesel, at 55.7 MJ/kg, and a usably high volumetric energy density, unlike Hydrogen, and can hence be used in cars, bikes, jets, ships, steel industry, construction industry, etc. Moreover, Methane is a great fuel for both Spark Ignition engines (like Petrols) and Compression Ignition engines (like Diesels), and can run in both engines with minimal modifications to the engine, mainly the timing of the valves, and the fuel injector, which is again in stark contrast to Hydrogen, which needs a much more robustly made engine block to deal with the extra pressure from explosions, along with extremely precision engineered injectors, and the fuel piping, since Hydrogen can leak out of even atomic level cracks. All this means we get to keep things we love, while benefitting the environment more than any EV ever would, and most importantly, without causing a hole in the pockets of people who can't afford a much more expensive and worse version of what we have today.

BIO CNG
Exactly, this mindless ev push is beyond me.... lithium ion batteries aren't suitable for cars .... period...you can't even put out a lithium fire with readily available water ....and then comes the range....it will never match what is advertised.....these EV companies are looting us ....not 1 ev customer is satisfied with the car but still people made it look like some wonder technology....which it is not ....if petrol vehicles are replaced by EVs the carbon emissions will also be replaced by those lithium battery factories that's it ... nothing will change. This is in fact worse for the environment.
@@rhushirajbandal7831 It's Bio Methane, not Bio CNG. CNG is essentially Methane with a LOT of impurities, hence has a relatively low energy density compared to other hydrocarbon fuels. That's why cars on CNG run bad when high power is demanded from the engine. Pure Methane, is the complete opposite.
100% agree with Toyota's 1:6:90 rule. They're talking facts, the Govts have no work but to force us to move towards EVs. Like at least India's don't. They're like, as Europeans are changing to EV then we will also change to EV. They know how to copy, else they won't innovate anything. Japan is at least thinking and they gave us many alternatives. Why not using Biofuels and Ethanol type fuels? Like if those car companies would work on these and Govt would support it, then everyone wouldn't run around shouting V.
Most of the governments seem to take decisions based on what's being hyped up or is popular. Earlier (before electric cars had gained popularity), some of the European countries had been promoting diesel and subsidising it as they believed it was a cleaner fuel, probably due to its better mileage. Now those same governments are trying to ban diesel completely and push for EVs.
biofuel is bogus, ethanol increse food prices and exploitation of water, lithium is recyclable but is oil ?
@@rahuljha3965 how can you say biofuel is bogus when it's something that's still being worked in and we don't even know much about it. As far as lithium is concerned, yes, it's recyclable, but it's lifecycle is extremely polluting and this also leads to exploitation of water. As far as ethanol is concerned, the concerns you pointed out are valid in the beginning, but can be addressed. Brazil has been using ethanol since 70s or 80s.

Biggest problem with electric cars is that they are loss making adventure for any car maker. Not a single car maker makes electric vehicles with profit except Tesla.
Not to mention, owning an electric car is a terrible experience. I live in the US with arguably one of the best electric infrastructure and still electric car infrastructure is pathetic so it's not surprising that Japanese want to stay away from electric right now and waiting for technology to improve.
For making profit you need economy of scale
Only tesla has that kind of economy of scale due to their vertical integration
Other brands are not selling enough vehicles to justify their factory investment and R&D, this lack of R&D in turns shows in their products wherein tesla beat all other ev’s in terms of range performance and price

I agree with Japan Car company
Japanese car brand is going to save the world from EVs
I totally agree with the mindset of Japanese car makers. In fact building an ev creates the amount of pollution which is equivalent to build a gasoline car and run it for 150k kilometres. Moreover in countries like india we mostly produce electricity by burning fossil fuel.
bro pls put your brain from comod, its bogus info, and petrol also need electricity to refine so its 2x pollution but hey continue with ur rotten brain
Japanese are correct, EV is not a long term bet, Lithium Ion's carbon footprint and green house effect is far far more than ICE engine. Even Govt of India's long term bet is not EV but Green Hydrogen. Only problem is when green Hydrogen storage issue resolved. so they don't want to spend on EV R&D. Even for us India where price is a big factor we should have moved to mandatory hybrid instead of EV. even plugin hybrid would have been better till we master the green hydrogen. check their spend on Hydrogen fuel.
It’s easier and cheaper to build charging than hydrogen stations, you need tanks of carbon fibre and Kevlar lining because metal will react and break apart when in contact with h2 that’s why h2 ice has failed
Only fuel cell works that too because it uses platinum palladium which are noble metals and don’t react with h2
First read my comment, I have mentioned that Hydrogen has a storage issue. @@shresthsonkar9207
BEVs have much lesser overall pollution related to them as compared to ICE cars. please dont compare carbon emissions for a particular stage only. u have to compare pollution from mining to use. 1:6:90 rule doesn't make much sense if you go into the details.
Ultimately to curb pollution, you need to reduce the dependancy on non renewable fuels like Petrol or diesel. ie, battery needs to be working more than IC engine.
For all batteries, degradation happens and life of a battery depends on number of cycles.
For a normal hybrid car to actually pollute less, it needs to run on its battery more. This means more cycles for the battery.
So a small battery of a hybrid will need to do far higher cycles as compared to a plug in hybrid or a fully electric car. This means hybrid's battery will degrade far more quickly.
So the 1:6:90 rule basically nullifies itself.
For same amount of kilometers, smaller the battery, more the cycles and thereford higher the Degradation.
The problem is that Unlike Ev batteries, PHEV or strong hybrids dont fully use up their batteries (they have around 20% buffer limit on both sides) and due to this the battery degrade far far slower. Yes hybrids batteries still degrade faster than ev, but not massively and also less cells are necessary to change it or recycle tge old ones
@@helloworld.w6075 Most EVs sold in India has around 200km range. Everyone won't deplete the battery fully daily.
@@helloworld.w6075 My Nexon EV is currently at 96% battery health after clocking 53,000km.
I agree, aap bhut mehnat karte hai its not easy. Maine kiya hua hai aap ke channel ko subscribe.
That's the reason why Nitin gadkari promoting flex fuel, ethanol etc 😊
I dont see 10+ years old evs on road but
I do see 20+ years old fuel cars on road
So on long run also fuel cars will last longer and easy to maintain unlike evs which might cause technical failure, battery replacement and water damage issues
Brother I have a question about hydrogen fuel cell cars or fully sustainable fuel I.C.E. cars. Are they the future technologies on which Toyota or other Japanese or in that case any other car manufacturer from all over the world will focus ??
Hydrogen is primarily made from methane reformation which releases lot of co2 in to air
Net net, it’s worse than EV
You could theoretically make h2 from electrolysis of water but that means you need to devote already scarce water resources to fuel production
Electrolysis uses 50kWh electricity and 10L water to make 1kg hydrogen
Hydorgen car travels just 100km on 1kg h2
Meanwhile if you use same 50kWh electricity, you can charge mg zsev fully and drive for 350km on same amount of energy
We all know we have limited power production so it’s better to utilise it for EV charging than making hydrogen
I literally gave this point in your community post😎
Bro plzz make video on gran turismo

Please 🙏 use Seaweed Biofuel or Bio CNG for better future
Bhai please make a video on Bajaj automobile in future.
What is future of Bajaj autobike sector in India.
Bro Xiaomi ki su7 ke upr vedio banau or Chinese car pr vedio banau
🙏 my question is after rare element what is ev' s future 🙏

1:6:90 - Just because same amount of Lithium can produce a lot more Hybrid cars, doesn't mean that is the most efficient use of Lithium. Efficient use of a resource is determined by how much utility value it adds to the end users and not by how many units can be made with it. It ultimately depends on the customers. Otherwise everyone would be riding bicycles because who knows how many hundred bicycles can be made from the same amount of steel used in a car.
Putting all eggs in Hybrid basket is a bad move. Only thing tilting the scale in favour of Hybrids right now is poor charging infrastructure for EV. Hybrids are neither cheaper to purchase nor cheaper to run than EVs. Sooner or later that advantage will be gone. Like how diesel market share fell rapidly once the price gap between petrol and diesel reduced.
