I drive for a living and I am certain in recent years the standard of driving has got far worse. There are some good drivers out there but there are a lot of bad drivers. It doesn't help when people believe that driving is a born right but in my opinion, it is a priviledge that must be respected and earned. My number one pet hare are tailgaters and drivers that don't indicate.
Lane hoggers do it for me.
Near total end of traffic police -people slowly learn what they can get away with and that red lights and speed limits are a hint. It’s why all those “shocking” level crossing near miss videos aren’t actually shocking at all -they just document the disdain people have for lights, zebra crossings, give way signs etc
the lack of indicating is also something that makes me mad...
as i am almost always riding a bicycle and i swear like a docker to the cyclists that think that they do not have to indicate when changing direction. this granny must be some kind of dinosaur, for i always follow the rules of the road as i learned them as a kid.
@@ingeposch8091 sometimes it’s hard -especially when doing something like cycling round a roundabout-you can’t stick your right hand out and steer. Which is why sometimes you get almost driven over. Now, if you have time look for videos of people complaining about the latest Teslas and indicating at roundabouts -they’ve gone from a stalk to steering wheel buttons you can use when the wheel is upside down, so can’t indicate when you are coming off. Shows either Musk doesn’t use roundabouts or that he doesn’t indicate when he uses them
@@SteveLoughran i'm from the Netherlands... we have roundabouts with seperated lanes for cyclists and on most roundabouts cyclists have priority. but not all!
Some drivers seem to think that red lights don't count if they just saw them change.
I hate the ones who will actually overtake me when I have stopped my car on red. That’s what dashcams are for as it’s hard to say “the lights just changed” when you have to drive round a stationary car. I also hate being on a bike and having to worry about what the car behind will do

He'd just laugh it off. They're builders. Skipping round regulations is their forte.
You would think that would qualify as a disqualification. He could have easily hit you or a crossing pedestrian or even caused a really bad accident going through a red light at that speed.

Hi Mikey, some of these disgustingly entitled drivers should get their licenses revoked immediately.
If a phone abuser loses 6 points (well deserved) taken off their points, and a much more dangerous crazy nutcase that jumps 2 red-lights only loses 3 points, there is something veru seriously wrong with this system IMHO.
And that should extend to you bike riders who think the rules of the road don’t apply to them, and believe me there’s plenty.

That explains why he’s partly in Mikey’s lane -he was probably behind him until mikey stopped and decided he’d rather break multiple laws than wait. Makes it extra dangerous and harder to say “the lights changed as I was going through”.

So many of these now; there has to be an MP's mate who can make millions out of installing red light cameras.
If this lot commissions them, those cameras probably won't work at all, or the images will be too industinct to show digits. We still.have a Transport Secretary who characterises traffic restraint measures as a war on motorists, while pursuing a war on railway workers' jobs and working conditions.

I resent that. My new BMW can actually see red lights and warn when I’m not slowing down for them. It even has indicators and is unhappy if I change lanes without using them. It even slows down when there’s a bicycle ahead because that helps it recharge its battery. BMW have a big motorcycle business so make sure their cars are safe near any form of bike. Worry more about Tesla there

A driver's licence is a privilege and not a right. Licence holders should be re tested every 5 years . The excuses of exceptional hardship should also be removed as a defence to a motoring offence.
Been saying that for years. Should be compulsory to retake. We all get in to bad habits.
Nothing to fear, but a good indicator of who most needs the re-test would be who signs the petitions against it.

That's not true. The second lights are situated under the bridge. He goes through them at 0:23 and is still fully visible for the following 3 seconds. I think you may be looking at the repeater lights which are beyond that second junction.

The grey Corsa also should have stopped. You can see it still crossing the stop line as the light turns red, which is an offence.
Amber means STOP (unless you'd have to brake hard, which would be dangerous). I didn't always know that, and I wish someone had told me! Amber means STOP.

I've noticed this becoming an epidemic lately. It's not helped by the fact that some Police forces encourage it - albeit unintentionally - by not prosecuting until a full two seconds into the red.
I never knew about the two seconds rule, that's mad (and dangerous! )
