Will Andrew Luck become involved in NFL in some capacity? | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC
/ nflonnbc - Спорт
Mike made a great point. Luck doesn’t owe anyone an explanation or anything else. He left a lot of tread, blood sweat and tears in the stadium my Colts call home and teams cut players who have plans all the time all throughout the in and offseason. Luck unintentionally gave them a taste of how it feels to he left high and dry with his decision to retire and he wasn’t wrong for doing it how and when he did it!
Andrew Luck doesn't owe the fans an explanation after he made millions from the fans? Weird
It baffles me ppl wanna blame anyone but themselves… hate the organization not the player
Luck was not trying to stick it to anyone. He was injured again and again. I don’t even blame the Colts. Luck could have possibly played smarter and avoided hits but guys only have one speed to reach the NFL. Sometimes it’s just unfortunate.
Die hard colts fan here that has lived in Indy before, during, and after the Luck era. If you took a poll, 90% of colts fans love Luck and everything he did for this city and franchise.
And those fans at the game would tell you “we weren’t booing Luck, the person, we booing about the situation and how we found out about his retirement during the second half of the last preseason game. All while management had been telling us Luck was going to play in the first regular season games”
What happened to Luck? The owner allowed a horrible GM to leave Luck with a bad O-line causing injuries? I loved Luck as a player and as a person. Never a Prima Donna. He had HOF talent. He was great right out of college. Saw him score 5 tds in a playoff game against KC when he orchestarted a great comeback.
@@Urbohat exactly, the organization in charge during his first few years failed him and it’s terrible to see it ended up costing him a long HOF career.
I don’t think I have met a true colts fan that doesn’t like Andrew Luck as a person or has hard feelings about what he did when given the full story
No, you were booing Luck. He heard the boos as he was walking off the field.
i love how EVERYONE loves the Capt Andrew Luck twitter account. imagine being the person behind that account and all you see is the love from everyone.
he will design and build the next stadium
Not sure who leaked it but Schifty shouldn't have reported it.
Exactly!
Welcome home Captain Andrew Luck. Mother misses you. We have tended the farm in your stead when you were away on your sabbatical.
That Twitter page was fückìng fantastic
@@romain8390 I respect Luck's decision immensely, but I was truly disappointed that the Capt Luck twitter was over.
Mike makes such a good point about teams cutting players and not giving them a second thought. But the second the tables turn and it’s a player doing that then fuck that player. I think that is such a larger topic of discussion in the corporate world in general. In terms of business look out for yourself because businesses will drop you without a second thought
Nailed it. You can tell who licks the boss's boots at work by the various comments here.
He still be love in Indy. As colts fan. I feel bad for him and respect his decision. I never have hard feeling at him.
While not a QB, Luke Kuechly did nearly the same exact thing. Luke was absolutely at the top of his game, best MLB in the game, when he retired.
Kuechly retired from concussions iirc
No mention how the colts left Luck without any protection for 7 years. Screwed up draft every year after the selected him. Even Irsay said they failed him.
Dude lacerated his kidney and still played on. Cris just bitter cos he had a mediocre NFL career
Chris also lacerated his organ. The Colts fielded a team just like every other team in the league. Are the Bills not giving Josh Allen enough help? Yes. Does Mahomes WR room suck? Yes. It happens.
They have the same amount of rings. One has great podcasts.
@@DrPhill96 Luck has podcasts?!
Definitely not a villain. Blame nepo owner irsay for putting a garbage line to protect him.
Andrew luck is like that guy from school that was good at everything. The fact that he walked away from the game and was still incredibly successful in something completely different speaks to the kind of person he is. He didn’t feel like he needed to play or else he’d be lost without it. He wanted to be able to have a life with his family
😂😂😂 what? Dude never won a thing and kept the money.
@@DrPhill96cringe
Wait, you’re not mad at Adam Schefter? He didn’t HAVE to report the story about Luck retiring, just because somebody leaked it to him.
Andrew Luck should remain absent from public view. Super odd to now want to come back to the spotlight after a 4-5 year absence.
It was an appearance at his former coach's fundraiser, and he does stuff like that on a regular basis. This shouldn't even be news. He dealt with the spotlight of being an NFL QB, but he never loved it. He is just more of an introvert.
@@jshumphress13 then why even be on the mic?
@bradleymaravalli2851 because it was a FUNDRAISER
Wow, first appearance in Indy since he retired!? That’s crazy!
Loved Luck as a player but puzzled why this is a story in 2024?
Did you watch the video?
tell us you commented without watching the video w/o actually saying you didn't watch the video.
Glad Chris mentioned that Luck got to keep his signing bonus, dude could've taken the season off, but to retire smh
Simms said he wasn't sure. According to the Indy Star, the Colts were entitled to ask for part of it back but elected not to. As far as retiring, the only person that can make a choice about retiring is the person doing it.
Scheffter didn't have to report it when he did either
YES!!
SLEAZBALL Schefter will ALWAYS BE A DOUCHE for that
Why? It was the source inside the organization that blew the whistle and the fans that booed. Those are the douches. Schefter was just doing his job.
I’m no Indy fan but here’s how I think he screwed them over. I believe he decided to retire during the preseason, from memory, walking off the field and “waving goodbye” with a certain finger. Now if he had retired, say, in March instead it would’ve given the organization time to make trades and get a new QB via the draft. But his timing was damned near as bad as it gets. THAT’S what fans should be angry about. But don’t go making him a “hero” because ultimately he is not.
But he doesn't work on your plantation and nowhere in this video was hero mentioned.
JFC, no employer owns an employee and if someone realizes they're done with a job, they have every damned right to leave it whenever they feel it's appropriate. Who the hell cares if the Colts were inconvenienced? Each NFL team makes hundreds of millions in profits ever year so the Colts are honestly just fine. Get off your high horse.
@@johnchedsey1306 It's not about the Colts and their profits, it's about the fans who bought season tickets, Jerseys etc... with the expectation he was going to play. Those fans have every right to be pissed about how he walked away.
Sure freaking hope so
The hell with Luck
Not everyone wants the media circus spotlight on their family and their life! Andrew Luck has been living his life quite normal and doesn't need the constant chirp of social media or any media......much like the rest of the silent majority! After just one night out at an event he's a "STORY" again and the speculation circus starts, let the man live his life in peace!
I blame the Colts for Luck retiring. Maybe if Luck had an offensive line and wasn't literally running for his life during games, he would not have retired.
You make $100M, the return on that a minimum $3-5M, I can live on that and getting hurt is no fun attitude. It is unusual but his competitive trait was not high enough to play till he couldn't, things have to be near perfect to not end every season injured.
Biggest what if, so sad that once he retired Colts had one of the best Oline in the leagues for a couple years
There once was a quarterback named “Luck,” (you see where this is going)
At Stanford and Indy he had lots of pluck.
He retired so early,
Indy fans got quite surly.
He used a phrase ending in “off” but starting with “F-k.”
🍅
He’s tired of playing his guitar and hitting the bong six days a week?
Coach luck sounds too right
The problem with Andrew Luck is he took millions from the Colts organization and never gave it back. And then walked away like it was no big deal. Yes, he had the heartbreaking moment giving his farewell speech but then went off into obscurity and... that's that!? It's just odd. The whole thing.
Yep it was a legal robbery executed in broad daylight. Luck gets a massive contract with lots of guaranteed money, because the Colts thought he would be there to play out the contract, and then abruptly retires and disappears from the public eye for 5 years and now he is back to ‘give back’? WTF does that mean? Give what back? The money? Because if I’m the Colts owner that’s the only think that needs to be given back. If I’m the Colts owner I would ban Luck from even entering the stadium.
Looks like they should have invested in that oline 😂
@@NathanDean79the colts owner told luck to keep the money 🤦🏽♂️
Chris Simms is always on the players' side, except for this. 🤔
Was his preseason retirement an inconvience for the Colts? Sure. But they had 7 years to try and give him just an average O-line and they never properly invested in protecting him on the field. Week in and week out he was getting beat up. How many QBs get knocked out for the season bc they have a lacerated kidney? That's the other half of that. Luck had a lot of bad luck with injuries but a lot of that was on the Colts.
As long as he doesn't visit the UK..
Very disrespectful to the UK fans when he was over here.
In what way?
@@cag19549 he was watching a huge crowd of Brits throw the ball and he was laughing at them saying they should not be taking NFL to a country where they cannot throw the ball.
Someone asked him if he could play "soccer"... shut him up a little but you could tell he never wanted to be there and had a bad attitude about it all.
I always think like. People debating who the best QBs are. Luck is still definitely top 10.
But his body wasn’t healing like it should have been. He definitely doesn’t own anything to EITHER of the Colts fans 😂😂😂
F you? F you? Do you know why those people were booing Andrew Luck in that last game? Because Luck got a massive contract and then retired taking all his guaranteed money with him. It felt like a robbery. Right or wrong that’s what it felt like. So F you Florio!
Yes Mike he left with A LOT of money he did not earn. Tens of millions of dollars. If Luck had any character whatsoever the Colts wouldt have had to ask for money back because of its me and I’m Luck I give them every time that I did not earn back. Luck didn’t do that. The Colts might not have asked him but in my opinion they shouldn’t have to ask him for it back. That tells a lot about Lucks character or lack thereof
Luck was getting kiled year in and year out. Numerous injuries and concussions. Blame the colts for his retirement and not getting him an offensive line.
What happened to Luck? The owner allowed a horrible GM to leave Luck with a bad O-line causing injuries? Please let me know, Giants fan here. I loved Luck as a player and as a person. Never a Prima Donna. He had HOF talent. He was great right out of college. Saw him score 5 tds in a playoff game against KC when he orchestarted a great comeback.
They didn't ask for anything back, because they knew, they hadn't don't right by him. The GMs lack of building around him had sacrificed their chances of a super bowl for the sake of being cheap.
He had just come back from a prior season ending injury and the protection wasn't any better. In fact he was hurt in that pre season game. I would have said, I'm out if I'm going to be sacked twenty times this season again.
COACH LUCK
Isn’t Andrew luck the dude who quit on his team right before the season started?? He must be bored with his family
🍺
Somewhat ironically the braindead owner who lucked into team murdered Luck's career! Brady wouldn't have lasted 1 season on those Colts teams.
If someone like Joe Burrow suddenly retired he would give the money that he didn’t earn back to the Bengals. Of that I have no doudt. Mahomes would probably do the same. Because if I was in lucks shoes and I didn’t give it back I would be ashamed. I would be awash in shame. Where is Lucks shame? Does he have any? There are people that have no shame. They are called narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths. Like Donald trump he has no shame.
In his prime, age wise maybe. But Indy lack of OL protection meant he was beat to a pulp. Play may have been only a couple more years if he had stayed any how.
That year he retired colts had one of the 3 best lines in all of football. Ballard fixed the Oline a year too late.
Dude Andrew luck can stay where he’s at. Nobody cares about Andrew luck.
His other prospect failed so he is crawling back for money lol.
I don’t wanna see this quitter back anywhere next to football
If Mr. Trump can't do the time he shouldn't have done the crime.
No he disappeared for 5 years because he was ashamed at having robbed the Colts. Not enough shame to give it back though. Idk maybe I’m being to hard on the guy. But if I hear this person or that person is the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck I’m going to vomit. 🤮 Did Luck win the Heisman trophy? No. Did Luck win a national championship? No. Did he put up
Ridiculous numbers in college? No not really. Ridiculous numbers in the NFL then? No not really. He never passed for more than 3600 yards in college. His career completion percentage in the NFL is 60% and a career passer rating of 89 and
A career Td to int ration of 2:1. Yes he was a good QB but nothing special. He was never an All Pro either. And after 7 years of playing his playoff record was 4-4. Never went to a Super Bowl either. So maybe everyone could stop using this guy as some sort of benchmark. You want a benchmark to use? Use Joe Burrows 2019 season at LSU. Because if anyone ever reaches those heights then we have something.
Quitter. Don’t let him back. Made his choice. Ban him.
Luck got a massive contract with massive guarantees and then abruptly retires. So he left with money he did not earn. So he robbed the Colts. And then he disappears completly from public life for 5 years and now all of a sudden he is just back to ‘give back’? Give what back? The money? I think Luck was overrated and if in the Colts owner the only thing I would accept from luck is my money back. The money he did not earn. Short of that stay the fuck away from my stadium.
Luck, overrated.
