love your stuff man! i just got back into collecting after getting my old collection from when i was a kid. My grand dad passed away about 8 months ago and i used to do it with him when i was 8-15 every weekend going all across Ontario to shows. in the past week i have done 2 box's of quarters. only 1 silver but quite a few upgrades for the 70s to 80s. Going to teh bank today to get 2 fresh boxes. (my bank lets me mark the boxes and just exchange them for ones i haven't went through)
@@CADRollHunter thought I would give you an update on the box of quarters. I got 3 silvers (2 68s and a 1962) also had tons of upgrades for the 70s they looked almost proof like. Not a lot of colour but was a killer box!
A beautiful quarter of 1971, my birth year! Early 70s are really good when in nice condition. But your 1991 is really the gem of your hunt. I found just 1 so far in about 18 months of CRH. It's even better than the average silver coin... It's surprising you didn't get Charles IIIs, as I got enough now to make nearly a full roll. The dimes are much more difficult to find. I just had 750$ worth of quarters (1.5 box), and the very last roll gave me a beautiful 1956 80% silver. Lots of color for me too, and quarters are still fun to hunt. I remember the bank from which I got the 1956. I asked for $300 of quarters, and I always insisting on picking up the loose rolls from the "main work space" before picking up some from their ordered boxes. They got in the vault and brought me back 30 rolls. I asked if they had more plastic rolls, and they had 9 more. He let me look at them all, and remove 9 rolls I don't want. I checked the edges, and took all the rolls with suspect edges. The 1956 was in the 9 plastic rolls I instested a bit more to have. Nice pay off, even though it requires some strategy, and more comprehensive staff...
Hello, I just subscribed to your channel. This is the first video I have watched of yours and as an American coin collector I loved your video! Very informative!
Great video! Really enjoyed. That is a really low mintage on the 1991 quarter. In the UK that would be a very low mintage and in comparison way more coins are in circulation in Canada.
Are you referring to the Poppy quarter? It's multi-ply plated steel, as indicated by the 'P' composition mark on the obverse. The mint did produce a silver remembrance day quarter in 2004, but it doesn't feature the colour poppy and does not have the 'P' composition mark.
@@CADRollHunter thank you for the information, I had a coin just like it and checked the value on an app called coinsnap, turns out the app is not reliable
I've been hitting a lot of King Charles... They're definitely out there, also hit two of him in the nickels! Got my $500 box of quarters to pick up tomorrow morning 🤞I am in Canada
If you get machine-wrapped rolls, you're likely getting ARP coins. Alloy Recovery Program. Essentially, the mint tales in all the coins returned and keeps anything 2000 and older - essentially anything with nickel, copper, or silver. They melt that down and sell the metal to fund its ongoing operations. Modern coins are mostly cheaper steel.
Theres an odd satisfaction that comes with not getting the upgrade on the scarce coin you already have on account of your current example being a good one. It kind of reassures you that you've already done well.
it may not be a comment on quarters but yesterday i finally receive my 2023 unc set off charles the 3 but no number on back to show like on the 2023 eliabeth the 2 unc set
hello today i got some nickels from my bank and pick some nice stuff one war nickel 1943p one george vi 1950 but a 1997 nickel that is good shape but looks like it has a copper tonning, i took at picture on my cell phone with a normal97 next to iti wonder if this legit error@@CADRollHunter
Interesting that people just turn the American quarters into the bank as “regular” quarters. Is there no way to take advantage of the USD to CAD exchange rate and turn them in for more CAD? Otherwise, I would be hoarding the American quarters and then exchanging them when the exchange rate is favorable.
The only way to realize the premium on exchange would be to take them to the States and spend them. No banks or exchanges here in Canada will accept coins.
I did keep those coins - none of them were the drooling George, unfortunatley. There's lots of detail at the corner of his mouth, but no die chips on these examples!
Any quarter hunt with a key date quarter and a semi key date nickel is a win in my books too.😅
I agree! Thanks for watching, Bruce!
That 1991 is a very nice find! I have only found 1 in all the coins I have searched.
I saw a US New York quarter in roll 40... Nice 1991 quarter! With the ARP in existence it's even rarer.
Great hunt, and quarters, my favorite! ❤❤
Thanks, Quarter Queen!!
Very nice. Never knew there were so many colorized.
Thanks for watching!

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. I'm sure he'd be happy to know you're continuing on with the hobby.

Got one myself. Awesome.

Wow! You're doing really well! I think I might have had this box for awhile. I have another box ready to hunt that I hope might have some Charles...

I appreciate that! Thanks so much! Hopefully, you'll find some of my past videos enjoyable!
Awesome hunt! So happy you got another 1991! That's insane. Keep up the great content!
Thanks so much!!
Great hunt! The 1991 nickel was definitely a great foreshadowing for the Quarter.
Yes it was! Strange coincidence!
nice 1991 find and lots of color great hunt
Thanks 👍
Big like number 48! Incredibly well done and thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you! Cheers!
What a great hunt! Congrats on the 1991!! What a find. I am in the same place you are re: KC3 coins - not a one found yet.
They're definitely hard to find in some areas...
The last coin I need for my commemorative quarter book is the colourized Cindy Klassen so this video, as great as it was, kind of broke my heart.
Crazy to get 3 in a box... be patient. Yours will come!
So many nice keepers, James! Key dates are the best keepers! I bet I know some people who would love the duplicates, LOL.
No doubt. I'm sure I can find a good home!
I would call the 1973 large bust quarter the "holy grail" of Canadian CRHing... 1991 is still an amazing find!
One I still haven't found!
Your colorized coins are really beautiful 😍💕❤
Thank you so much!
The 1991 5 cents is one of the only post 68 ones I'm missing!
Nice finds, again.
Thanks again!
I also found a couple of American women quarters recently. Very common to find foreign coins in coin hunt.

Thanks 👍
Congrats on the 1991 ..Great hunt
Thanks 👍
1:56 that is a silver quarter btw

Nice! Good luck with the quarters!
Sorry for the noob question but was wondering how you get quarters before 2001? I havent seem to got them in my rolls in the canadian banks

Nice finds. I'm in northeastern Ohio. Wish I could get some CAD boxes to hunt..
Good luck! Hope you get some! You might have to visit Canada!
Was in Sarnia for grandsons hockey in Jan. Picked up some.
That 1973 quarter has misaligned dies. It's a minor variety, but still interesting.
These seem to he fairly common. Do you find many of them?
@@CADRollHunterMisaligned dies are somewhat common, but can bring a substantial premium, depending on how off center the side of the coin is.
New collector here. You just taught me that 68s are sometimes nickel and sometimes silver. Any easy way to tell?
A magnet - nickel will stick, silver won't.
@@sawyerdawson28 Dang, 7/10 of mine were not silver :/
But 3 of 10 were, and that's great! Thanks for watching!
Do you keep the nickel quarters because of the alloy recovery program?
I don't keep the nickel quarters. The nickel content is worth less than face value. I do keep the nickel 5 cents, though.
Do you not feel that they will all be removed in circulation in the future though? They may be hard to get for future collectors @@CADRollHunter
They're methodically pulling them out, so yes, they will get harder to find, for sure!
I have an 1998 - 1419 one dawhal uae coin with something that resembles a lamp on the rear
Very cool!
Great find, really wish that the canadian mint didn't take away our silver!
You and me both!

I find it frustrating when I find a key date in a roll and it is the only one damaged
Yes! I hate that!
I've got the "Full Crown" error!
I hope I can find that!!

Also 1997 scarce carabou date
Definitely a harder date to find!

@@CADRollHunter oh im sorry it mustve just been the shine on the camera that made me think that
@@jajastacha3796 No worries. I pulled them out again just to be sure. You never know when you might overlook something, so I really appreciate it!
Someone else wet through this box from what I can see .I don't know if you can see .it .
What makes you think so?
If lightning doesn't strike in the same place twice, then what's the point of lightning rods?
Lol! Very true!!
You don't get any rarer than that as far as regular circulating Canadian (or US) coinage goes? I think?
For sure. A real anomaly on modern coinage.
