Off topic here, but Megacat Studios just put out a kick ass looking arcade style space ship shooter for the Genesis called "ZPF", fingers crossed that we'll get that on the Evercade, since they've already been putting out Megacat games on the console. That'd be cool, it really looks great!

I don't get it. They can combine the Technos arcade and console cart essentially AND sell hardware to go with it for $50 but heaven forbid they renew their license to sell Technos 1 console cart?
If this was an entirely new company I'd probably applaud these two handhelds (even if I have zero interest and would not consider buying one) just because it's nice to see the retro side of gaming get more stuff. But since it's Blaze it pisses me off. Please get some new licenses and offer something on the VS and stop trying to sell hardware that re sells games I already have or didn't want on the Evercade.

Not going to lie the 2600 Special Edition looks cool. What got me curious is the Arcade Version of Asteroids on that list, wonder how close they are able to emulate the vector graphics? i too had that 200 Atari handheld & it really didn't wow me like i thought it would. Frogger was the only real thing on there that i went back to. Someone has mine as i left mine in one of those sleeves on a plane seat going on Vacation. @@VEGANVANIA, I agree! The soundtrack on double dragon is great. As much as I do love that series, it’s hard to beat the Arcade version. When they ported it to the NES, I was disappointed. Not as disappointing as the Bad Dudes NES port though. That was awful.

@@VEGANVANIA, I love Atari. It was the first console I owned back in 81’-82’. I could play games like asteroids for hours back then. Now I can only manage about 10-15 minutes. It’s not that I now dislike those games. I appreciate them, they just haven’t aged well. I think it may be because the 8 and 16 bit era spoiled us. @5:46 _exactly._ I reviewed that same product from _My Arcade_ in its upright, mini arcade form. Evercade's Atari handheld offers better value for money than My Arcade, and I say this as someone who has made a video titled "everything wrong with" Evercade's Super Pocket. Blaze seems to specialize in bad, deeply flawed products that NEVERTHELESS offer good value for money. ;-)

If Evercade ever release a version of these with a nice 4-inch+ OLED display, I would buy one instantly, these games were made with CRT in mind, so LCD just doesn't have enough colour volume and contrast & black levels, not to mention the terrible motion clarity LCD's have all but destroys the faster moving sprite graphics, so number 1 an OLED display would negate all these issues, if it was one that uses 120Hz PWM to give 60Hz CRT quality motion clarity, as well as a nice little hardware scanline-generator IC, these retro games would then really shine on a screen like that, I really don't understand why someone would want to play these fast-paced arcade style games when you can't even see the sprites and characters on screen, so far only the Steam Deck OLED can display these games properly with 120Hz BFI and scanlines in 4:3 aspect, or you can even use a Trinitron or Shadow-Mask shader, another thing these should have as standard really, I would also really need to have a proper headphone AMP to consider buying one, though unfortunately, that will expose the very poor audio emulation these things have.
They could fix this with a decent DSP, and an FPGA or ASIC, they would only need a something like the Tang Nano 20K, this would be plenty for decent real hardware quality chiptune audio, along with a RP2040 DSP, the Tang 20K can be had for less than $5 wholesale in bulk, and the RP2040 less than $1, so for very little money, these Evercade consoles could have a massive audio upgrade, without all the popping/clipping/stretching/out-of-key/jitter/crackling audio they current;y have via their very under-powered soft emulation audio has, the $6 or so combination of the FPGA & DSP would achieve better results than a quad-core 4GHz X86 CPU would via soft emulation, and it would really do the great physical cartridge collection Evercade has available justice, they could of course go full FPGA, which would be amazing, a full FPGA handheld that can do everything short of 6th gen games, with a beautiful 4:3 OLED display, and a decent DAC & HP-AMP can easily be developed and sold for well under £120, and the console version without a screen would only cost £80 or so, 'D buy an Evercade FPGA handheld & console in seconds of it being available.

@@Wobble2007, I totally get what you’re saying. That would definitely make the games feel more authentic for sure. The Technos one is also a bit of a bummer, why put out a Super Pocket that has a number of built in games that are already released on a cartridge? That's kind of lame. They're competing against themselves at that point. Besides Combatribes, that Technos Arcade cart really wasn't very good. Blaze needs to step up their quality in game choices. I'm excited for Toaplan 3, but there are so many cartridges out there that are really loaded with stinkers. It'd be nice if us consumers could maybe provide them some input to help them make better choices, but the flip side of that is there are so many "Yes men" type Evercade fans that praise every turd they release.
