This video has alot value in it, way more then most UA-camrs in the car world. Keep speaking the truth and being honest, it helps a lot. Thank you guys
Counter to the wheel stud thing: if you do run the same size wheel all the time and you tune a bank turn with a spring adjustment instead of a wheel spacer, a longer stud is just that many more threads to potentially get damaged. Longer lug nuts, which most cars use make the threading process no big deal. Don't get me wrong though, I do like extended studs if they have a purpose on that particular car.
I love this, please make more content like this. Ordered extended wheel studs while the video was playing. Thats so crazy that you have a car so setup that you can feel the difference between different wheel offsets. I aspire to be on that level someday.
Just fyi, I heard you talk about the interior lighting for buckling in and whatnot on another podcast, and immediately went out and bought light strips to install on my cage/under my dash. Greatest tip ever.
You guys should touch on lsds vs welded/spools, curious to know what all the pros are using in the quick changes. I did one event on a welded 8.8 and I hated it going back to a stock rx8 diff that I rebuilt for this season
i agree big time on most of the topics discussed, esspecially the motorsport specific parts and the maintenance requirements. The general populous just dont understand how finicky and consumable these parts really are. Im really looking forward to future episodes. i also hope you guys are willing to deep dive and get super technical on occasion, these type of discussions really are a gold mine.
Once bought three 5.3l LS engines for $325 each. They were all very clean with complete intake manifolds. I think this was in like 2008, oh the days. Love that you guys started doing this podcast.
old man at the skatepark vibes lmao if that aint the vibes.. great podcast as always i'll never forget you taking the fox out on track at parc those few events it saw and how fast that thing was around the track it really blew my mind after seeing some fast cars there that thing had to have been the fastest..
One of the first things I did on both my e46s was extended studs. I have 4 different sets of wheels all with different offsets so I understand Chelsea’s point. I’m not a great drifter and I can feel the difference in the offset with how much it grips.
The 1000hp on video game statement is so true it’s sad!!! I’m on a sim setup but I don’t run anything more then 550hp and I keep up with everyone on 1000hp+ I think it’s more people don’t understand how to properly setup their cars and suspension to get chassis grip so they go with the biggest tire and the most hp with zero tire pressure!! I can’t thank you enough for all the knowledge you’ve shared because I have some of the best cars I’ve felt on sim!
It's not just knowing how to set the car up. I think driving the low hp cars teaches you a lot that you don't realize if you only do 1000hp monsters. The 1000hp cars can let you get by with some mistakes or bad technique just because they have so much power to push through. I drive a bit of everything on the sim, but one of my favorites is a 180hp deathwish garage s13.
@@gitrekt-gudsonthat's the main car i drive, i love dwg 240sx with ka24, stock ka24 has like 140hp so like my 318ti. only think i dont like is that it has too much angle, but my car irl has no angle mods
Watching from Australia building a au falcon ute drift car at the moment so glad i watched this just wish had of seen it before spending 15k over building a car and spending to much time working and not drifting just gotta get out there
37:05 The forum era was perfect for information. Now people plan builds that are way too much, aren't built from a design (that you already know works) and it turns into a project car that never gets finished.
Said this same weight thing bout my ls rx7. I'd get 30+ laps at clubloose with more hp than some people getting 6-10 laps. With more wheel speed. Weight makes a huge difference
@@bennyb.1742 i have a factory manual mercedes im going to drift i swapped a 3.5l v6 in it thats advertised at 268hp stock its a weird car compared to the norm
Omg The nut and bolt check. The amount of people I had to listen to crying about broken bolts, knowing they could have just Nut checked their car before an event.
50:35 Yes that's a big one, but I think not hooking your car up even tho you could because that'll eat tires and potentially put more strain into the drivetrain is really hard. It's kinda like staying off the cookies. I think you need to already have done it enough times to realize yourself "this is bs. I'm so over this now".
I'm just a lowly sim drifter but I still love listening to these. I liked it when Denofa ran the purple, myself.. i dont hate yellow though. I'm a purple enjoyer.
Does anyone have aero or ducting to THROW smoke in a direction. It sounds hacky but in comp, I think it matters. I’ve seen the ways people get smoke out of the car. But actually planning a route for the smoke to go straight up, or out to the side.
ayyyyy chelsea ( YOU GET WHACKED ) you would have to cut the part of the video out that has music, or cut all audio, if its mixed with you guys talking it will ruin the whole video i had a video striked because i had the intro to a idles song AT there concert

Big same 😂
I thought extended studs was a no brainer.

Happy to say I proudly rock extended wheel studs so I can run slip on spacers for this reason!

Question for next podcast: what do you think the optimal horsepower is for a fun simple car that can also keep up in tandems? 220hp 275? 350?

I’ve seen the ways people get smoke out of the car. But actually planning a route for the smoke to go straight up, or out to the side.
The DW86 had exhausts directed to blow the tire smoke out, and make the cloud bigger. Not quite what you're thinking about, but similar effect.

Question!
M5x turbo 450hp, twin-clutch is overkill?
Yes. You dont need it, adds extra stress to drivetrain. They laid it out for you
Viewer questions next episode?
Go for it
cool
Chelsea just gotta point out that the audio got out of sync about halfway through
They goin way too hard on that sound board.
sound effects are hurty on this one
you're simply wrong about the twin disc thing. ORC drivability is insanely good. its the ppl who put pucked clutches in drift cars that are idiots.
