- Since 2009, Adam LZ has been traveling the world and documenting his adventures on UA-cam. After making a name for himself in BMX he leveraged his success to fund his first drift car in 2015 - an SR20DET S13.
He has had hundreds of thousands with him watching his journey as he progressed from his first parking lot donuts to becoming a fierce competitor all over the world. Adam is most known for his aggressive entries, versatility with many different chassis, and a heavy Japanese influence in his driving style.

I wish Adam did more podcasts. Incredibly smart guy who I could spend hours listening to. There is a lot of gems in here for people to take and apply to their own lives in their own way. I really miss him doing his own podcast because those were such a good listen.
It was awesome to get him to dive into some of the business stuff.

Usually hate podcasts but it’s nice to hear how methodical Adam is in what he does and the decisions he’s made
Got into watching drifting in my 50s and took my 21yo daughter to Adam's event in Canada this year, and she loved it. She said that people need to see it live, so FD should push and sponsor the grassroots events, but being a noob, I'm not sure if there are many they could sponsor. I just agreed with her when she said it is totally different live.
There is a ton of local drifting in Canada if you want to see more. As for FD stl is probably the closest for you.

I definitely saw the animosity of some people in the driftworld towards adam with him having his fanbase from youtube. 2 events you could see those people shift to respecting his talent and him as a pro drifter. The first one is his first top 5 finish, when he got it by legitimately winning each round in hard faught battles. This was in his S15. The 2nd event was his first win in his first podium and he faught like hell for the win while only doing half the schedule
i feel like anyone who takes micro goes thru atleast that 2 week period that Adam described where youre suddenly aware of opportunity costs. i was saving up for my first car when i took it and i remember starting to feel that way if i wasnt at my job or my side hustle.

Y’all could try Weber Kettle grill. Cook indirect and reverse sear. Flavor town ! Better than on stove. Roasted veggies taste so good. Easy recipe. Preheat oven to 400. In bowl combine broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus. Drizzle EVO & season. Add broccoli to baking sheet and put in oven. After 10 minutes add cauliflower. After another 10 minutes add asparagus. 10 minutes later remove from oven and enjoy

The idea of a travelling cook and talk podcast sounds fun. Might be difficult trying to coordinate but would definitely bring in another aspect of the driver's life, add other flavor to the podcast. I'm one of those that loves the technical side of things. It's always interesting to see the variety of how teams build cars, how things are setup, how each car reacts, the style and technique of drivers. The Minions of Jacob love listening/watching the podcast as well.

Jacob! Adam just told you the best podcast idea i have ever heard, you wanted your business going to peoples houses and cooking them dinner, well thats how you could actually make some money from it, Interviews like this over the course of you riffling thru peoples pantries, finding something to whip up and getting some great content for the fans to learn more about their favorite drivers! this is an epic idea, please dont sleep on it before someone else makes it happen
Ahaha we have some things in the works already lol. My only concern is that it is already a show but not in fd lol. That being said I want my version to be based on what they already have lol.

This is my first podcast I’ve listened to from this channel and I’ve got to say that it’s definitely the best podcast that Adam has been on. Interesting topics and this episode exceeded my expectations from Adam. Gotta get Collette Davis on the pod now haha

i like how he points out how he wasnt appreciated in BMX because of youtube, Drifting has had a similar path, but is changing as things move forward.

I've never seen any real indication that he is but I'm so stuck on thinking that Adam is a closet pothead lmao. There's just some clips over the years that he seems ripped. I could be very wrong be he also does seem very straight edge yet he does get wild drinking. (I've been subbed since it was a only BMX page)

The comment about youtubers growing out of their audience and having to act a way to appeal to an audience, ive been watching uberhaxornova since a younging and he is so true to himself. It feels like as a viewer, that i grew up with him, but hes still himself. Never a point where he is acting a way to appeal. His is a major influence in youtube honestly. That dude has the formula.

Adam u want a drift ls look at taylor rays vette he uses his power band the whole time its all about ur spec and bulid and what u really wanna use it for people have bulit ls motor that rev to almost 9000 but it’s expensive and its lots of work to do when u don’t need 9000 rpm with 1000 plus motor like a ls

Only reason I watch FD is because the technical aspect of it. I like the cars and the "unlimited" rules so to speak.
Good to know. It's tough to keep booth the casual and tech fans glued lol. Next episode we talk about it a lot more.
Something technical to the podcast: I feel like there is a time drift (not in a good way drift) between the two videos. Sometimes there is a lot of silence (because the one person was still talking on the other persons timeline) and sometimes one person is already responding to something that is still being said.
I don't know if there is a variable framerate in one of them, but it makes it a bit weird to listen and watch to.
Interesting. I'll take a look into it. There is some delay with the software but we do out best to mitigate it. Obviously in person is always better but it would be a huge coat to fly me and gear around every week lol.

But then also the mid-roll "ad" at 49:39 is also out of sync.

Not stoked on a homologous series, that’s the most off putting part of other racing series. The variation between drift cars is the coolest.

Adam talking about engines is so funny. Dude didn't know straight axles existed and how a 9" ford worked. He immediately discarded any of his opinions right there.
Why can't you limit the horsepower of all the cars? Use what ever engine you want, they just get a dyno done during a tech inspection day one and random checks after an event. I'm sure the time to do it might be crazy, so just set the limit and, like NASCAR, check the top 3 after the event. Penalties and fines to be determined. Or is that too "corporate" or regulated for the drift scene?
FD is perfect where it's at if you have been too a event in real life you would experience the speed and aggressiveness which is a good thing
