_It's actually the perfect track for this experiment, since it's a mix of long straights, where the LMP and Cart can shine, and then a sector full of medium to high speed corners, where the F1 and Super Formula shine, completely balanced._
Well that'd be not surprising with modern race tires, brakes, and aerodynamics, have those GT1 fit with those things as well surely something will prevail. Most recent race cars are just faster with modernization of those, try and apply them on the older ones then that'll be something.
Idea, Could you do the first race car from each category (1950s F1vs 1960s atcc all vs 2014 formula E) I think it would be cool to see old cars from different eras battling at the same time.
If this race was done on an oval track I predict the open wheeled cars of course would dominate, especially the Indi car leading, and I believe the Cup car would be fairly close behind being that's what they were purposely built for.
It would be interesting to conduct such a test on a track where most of the cars in the test do not perform. Something with unique elements like the Laguna seca corkscrew
I thought the rally car would have a limited top speed so I expected it to be further back in last at a place like spa because of the NASCAR stock car's top speed. But then I remembered NASCAR mostly races on ovals so wouldn't be as aerodynamically efficient at cornering on a circuit.
900 horsepower yes, but I imagine the gearing is so long that it takes its time accelerating. Add that to having to lift into Eau Rouge/Raidillon and it's most likely not reaching 200 by the time it gets to Les Combes.
@dominicbarden4436 at cota the gen 6 would get around 175-180, so I'd imagine that the 2014 gen 6 would get close to 200 at spa. Just assetto and default gearing makes it not get there
@@russianbubbawallace8681 Yeah that's what I was getting at. Though I think it would be hard pushed to reach 200 at Spa even if it had gearing more suited to the track. With four gears, the ratios are going to be long anyway, I guess it'd depend on how you compromise top speed and acceleration. It'd also depend on how fast it takes Eau Rouge/Raidillon, which, I don't know, 120-ish, give or take a few mph? Or is it capable of taking it quicker if you really load up the downforce? Best case I think it'd get to would probably be a similar speed to COTA, maybe near 190 at a push. In the 190-200 range, not sure.
a little misleading. That Penske Reynard was the fastest IndyCar ever on an oval but the current IndyCars are faster in road/street trim than those cars were.
to be fair that formula e looked pretty held up there. if it got away out of a corner earlier im sure it would have given chase to the supercar and challenged it too.
@@Marko137-em8nx if we compare nascar and FE, the nascar is the boring one, it's basically just a car on steroids. The FE looks like a sci-fi spaceship, has grooved tires and a strange sound. It's very unique and far from boring.
Idk what gen 3 formula e car that is but it ain't close to the ones running in real life that is way way too slow. Like a formula e car would demolish a cup car around a circuit as the old gen 2 was a little slower than gt3 pace if translated to full size circuits. Also it's literally the fastest accelerating car currently in circuit racing and yet every video it is the absolute slowest thing off the line. And I just watched a cup car out accelerate it out of a corner. And then the ai just gave up after that😭
That's just because the car that he is using in the video is the old version of the Gen 3 car but in season 11 Porsche livery. The updated version (the gen 3 evo) could accelerate up to 100km in 1.82 seconds, the cars have awd and have better tires than the og gen 3. In fact, just watch the season 11 Sao Paulo free practice session to see how fast these cars go.

2017-2023 NASCAR Toyota Camry
LMP1 Toyota 2019-2020
The W11 is so stupidly fast I love it
The Formula E car finished behind the Gen 6 NASCAR, but is listed as ahead.
The track when downforce is required
Spa is a medium downforce F1 track, leaning more towards low drag than high downforce.
Downforce is always “required”.

Here to remind that the GT500 and pre-GT3 DTM (like the one you're seeing here) cars are faster than the late 90's GT1 missiles.

It would be so cool fr
I’m impressed that the NASCAR was able to hold off the Formula e.
900 hp vs 400 hp, slick vs road tyres
3 Team Penske race cars
it'd be interesting to have a reversed grid. the fastest starting at the back and the slowest starting in pole.
Formula E beating WRC only by less than 4 seconds. 💀
How fast would Formula E be with slicks?
Formula E can go 0 to 60 in 1.86 Seconds Fast as the pitstop in F1
