@@Tbanyas1 I respectfully disagree. I do love me some Floyd. Dark side of the moon is incredible. Had that on repeat until Lateralus came out. Floyd is amazing but I personally prefer Tool and have grown more from their entire discography. I see Floyd as leaning towards mostly vise and torment where Tool covers everything relevant to your existence {}
it was 1993 I think. University of Central Florida basketball arena which was smaller back then. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Loved TOOL for decades now.
""Black then white are/all I see/ in my infancy" - All I see at first is absolutes, black and white, no grey (it really isn't racial). As I grow, I begin to see the complexities (red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me, lets me see). "There is so much more that beckons me..." I must grow and change to see what more there is...to grow and change for the better.
Love your reactions, Deondre. Keep it up, mate. Some of us rock fans liked bands because of the technical talent of the people in the band. Most of us sort of fans had bought a guitar because of Hendrix or Eddie Van Halen or a set of drums or a bass. For the technical musician fans out there, I would bet most if not all of us ended up in the Tool audience over the years. These guys are about as top shelf as it gets in the history of rock music.
To me, this song is about the creative process an artist goes through while creating their work. Michelangelo, Beethoven, Tupac, or Biggie. They all have endured through the process that is Lateralus.
Tool is the most worthwhile experience in music you can ever experience.
Pink Floyd might say hold my beer
