Your channel is an inspiration for me, I love the way you're not scared to show your vulnerability. Thanks for the honesty and the good work, keep on creating ! Thank you form Belgium ;-)
The world has gotten too urgent. Every job wants your response now, even when you’re off, now now now. When flip phones first hit, it wasn’t this bad. But smartphones and social media have turned up the speed. While we can individually slow down, I wish lots of companies would slow down and be ok with make a few million, hundred thousand, thousand less per year. The world just needs to breathe and slow down.
“Reality is fundamentally made up of the slow, subtle & persistent things which create change leading to growth.” Always remind myself of this whenever I feel anxious about slowing down in life.
Slow living encourages individuals to be present in the moment. This involves fully engaging with your surroundings, activities, and interactions rather than rushing through life.
I also wanted to live slowly, far from competition and comparing myself to other's growth and success. Currently I'm not doing well in my career but as long as there are improvements, I think that's okay. We will get there someday in God's perfect time.
As a clinical psychologist, therapist in training and fellow slow life attempter, GOOD FOR YOU that you started therapy homie. Awesome video, inspiring. Keep it up!
I had to take a couple of weeks off from my morning and evening jobs recently, and only work afternoons, and at first it felt like a disaster and I couldn't wait to start back up, but even after a few days I started to realize I really liked it :P the moment it was OK for me to return to those jobs, I didn't! I make less now, but I still make enough, and my life feels like a holiday? like, why didn't I do this sooner :P
I'm genuinely mind-blown because of how people like you have such a small following when you have these quality of videos. I resigned from a student organization we had at school because I didn't have much time for my own hobbies anymore, photography and making small compilation of videos with some cinematography. Never have been happier! At a stalemate of how I want to approach it again since I finally have more time. Now, I'm really happy to hear someone encourage us to do just what we want and not sweat about the details. Thanks, Shua! and keep 'em videos coming!
The art of editing this video, composition, scenery, movements, angles, etc is so refreshing and even makes the video and message more engaging. Absolutely love!
This was really sweet, thank you for this reminder that WE should do what WE want. This can keep us from the daily depressed or anxious state we are in. Truly such a good thing to talk about.
Your words and mindset really resonated with me. I've been consciously taking steps to live and create more slowly over the last few years. Divorcing myself from a life of "urgency" has been challenging, but it's rewards are - slowly - being felt.
I love it when the algorithm be algorithming! The best TED talk I watched in a while. You don't have to find a style, YOU ARE THE STYLE! can't wait to watch more of your videos.
I love the quote you shared from Rick Rubin. Sometimes we get so hooked up on the thought of what others might think and that completely ruins us, even when we haven’t started yet. I completely scratched that thought and just started creating no matter what others might think and focused on what I want to create and share. “Create things that keep you true to yourself” thank you for this message and this wonderful video. 🎉
Your honesty about feeling anxious and enjoying slow living is very close to me. As Seneca said, 'It is not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste much of it.'
Honestly been needing this type of advice a lot more as I transition into the “adult” world. Keeping up with everyone else’s standards is becoming exhausting. It’s been a while since I did things for myself. Thank you for this.
Watch u is like the life is screaming to us "Stop to being a lazy creator, and be only yourself!”. Seriously, it's the first time that I'm watching u and for me, is a big YES! I have thinking this entirely week about it. Lately, on the internet, people is just trying to be someone else, try to fit in an trend or pretending to be something to look happy, rich, thin, famous etc.. When in the end of the day, all what we want is a simple slow real life and content. I'm trying to do me this year, no rush, no lazy ass just me. Thanks, for this beautiful video and an amazing message.
I'm a full-time creative too! But I work for a company, so they aren't as keen on your philosophy because of the typical "infinite growth" mindset corporations have. BUT, I have recently been keeping this kind of slow-life, best work mentality first! Loving it
Your video reminded me a lot of the words of Rainer Maria Rilke, which I used lived by when I was younger. When I "had the time". Life makes you forget about...life. it's incredibly ironic. This was a wake up call for me. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Yeah, I think that "finding your style" is something that comes up in every creator's head at some point. It got me when I tried to transition from being a music hobbyst, to earning professional. After some time it was obvious that I was too eclectic in my "sound" and not that cohesive. There were a lot of other factors, but it made me abond doing art for someone alse instead of for myself. I want to do, what I want to do, don't care if it's in style
I used be slow and present. Then i started college. Everything suddenly went too fast, i was so stressed out and not used to it at all. I didnt adjust well and became heavily depressed and self hateful, i became started to have passive suicidal idealization. I still have it just less now. I had to take a massive step back from everything and got support from my family however lost all my friends. I went and got diagnosed with major anxiety and depression, everyone has that so it isnt really important. Im working on regaining that slow life, to be in the now, my mental health and everything. Im now activily going for something i love instead of going for something for future me. Im learning to focus on living in the present again.
Honestly, I was feeling horrible tonight and I came to UA-cam since it's a habit - not looking for inspiration or anything - but you made me think about the issues I've been ignoring by keeping myself busy. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Thank you for this! The part "I look externally when it comes to finding the things i want to create". As an influencer who has been doing this for a long time, I often find myself in a rut of "I will organise a folder of reels/tiktoks i want to recreate". Eventually, I couldnt do anything except just following the formula - which is completely against everything I believe in. So I started challenging myself for just posting, really. Did it on TikTok - just sat on the bench and shared why I like Melbourne after living here for two months, 45k views in a day. Instantly. When we create for ourselves and talk about things that matter, it always ends up working. Thank you for sharing this!
I know you create because you have to and you said you aren't compensated, but I truly hope your channel takes off because this was so well produced! Awesome job and best of luck.
I don’t know how I stumbled across this video, but I’m glad I did. I make and watch fishing videos 90% of the time, but you hooked me in with your style and struggle on just being. I’ve heard that Rubin quote before and I go about my “art” the same way. I also like this idea of living slowly.
Its true most content creators that are on their own flow gain a following that may be small compared to others but they will follow the creator throughout life
I'm pretty sure the internet just adorned me with my very own spirit animal. Dude you killed this. And the irony is that everybody watching this can see your style but you.
Thankyou so much, I've been going through a rough week. Social media makes me forget who I am again and again, I need to slow down. I needed this, thankyou.
Just excellent and exactly what I needed today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’ve got a new fan. Love from a wet, cold, windy Ireland. ✌🏻🫶🏻
I had my final architecture exam yesterday after an all-nighter,slept for 15h and now i woke up with that strange feeling of ✨nothing✨.. no tasks and deadline (m 4 days late on my work deadline but we won’t talk about that) But just, You get to see life without all of those clouds of responsibilities, even for a few days.. This video found me at the right time, and m glad now i found this Yt channel, I love this!
I'm trying to be in the present too, and feel the same about social media some times. Just trying to find a balance between creativity and actually exists as a whole person ❤best wishes 😊
Wait, you only have 10.5K subscribers?! I thought that I was watching a channel with at least 500K!! The quality of the video was great, not to mention its advice, storytelling, jokes and all the cool shots. I’m a beginning a content creator and I found the video really helpful. There really is this race to figure out your style and then get millions and millions of views. But what if we would stepback and live life? Figuring out your style happens naturally, there’s no need to rush it. Thank you once again, Shua, your films are amazing, keep it up!!!
I like how you actually proved your point. These are your thoughts and not based on any trends, and this video became your most popular so far. Congrats! Great content man.
This was *exactly* what I needed to hear. I've realised over Winter break during this first year of uni that I have been SPEEDRUNNING through life in the past few months. Now that I have taken a moment to breathe, I realised that everything is so chaotic and condensed that I can't even appreciate it, let alone consider whether what I am doing is coming from my heart, or just the momentum of never stopping (or being afraid to stop?) Thank you for making this video, and thank you to the algorithm for getting it on my recommended feed
See now im about to cry. Because I am currently going through the same thing. Burnout after burnout, trying to chase everything externally,it just never works. I am currently about to go in hermit mode to reflect. Thank you for this beautiful video.
Wow your editing just pulled me right in and kept my eyes glued the entire time. Also your message really hit home with me and where I'm at in my UA-cam career!
Holy crap that intro was AMAZING. Immediately Parasite peach scene vibes, great pacing and shot composition, wonderful sync with the tension of the music and it elevated it to feeling cinematic. Wow.
The way I went through the exact same thing. Sick with a cold, then food poisoning, lot of anxiety and some depression from it but it acted as a catalyst to change my mindset and get in touch with myself.
It’s funny you say the right people will find you because I thought while watching this “wow he just like me for real” because I am currently listening to the audiobook of The Creative Act: A Way of Being and I really resonate with the message of your video. I immediately subscribed. Thanks for being such an inspiration and I look forward to watching more of your content!
Just feeling great while watching your video. Nailed the story that uure telling, hope i can find myself and living a life that i actually WANT. Thank you!
wow this popped off a little king - I think you’ve found your style! I just happened to see this in my recommended (which I rarely get new to me creators recommended) so you did something right! Or maybe the algorithm realized that I watch a lot of people with mustaches ?
Dude this resonates so hard. I took December off from content creation and am currently on a similar journey. I’m a storyteller and a filmmaker but I got sucked into doing movie reviews for the last three years on tiktok every single day…. Finally finding my way back and this video was so much help this morning.
This is a really great video. Love the "no other you" shirt because it's so real- just live your life and enjoy the fact that we get to create! Like Rick Rubin reminds us, the act of creating IS the reward
Thank you algorithm for bringing me here. THIS was a great video! Thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing what you're going through. Also I love your shots, editing skills, and lighting in your videos. It is on point!! I am just starting out in my youtube journey, not this channel, another. But this was validating to hear! 😄
Randomly stumbled upon this video through a bit of autoplay and it really caught my eye! Loved the way you portrayed your thoughts through awesome transitions.
This is incredible and super inspiring. Literally exactly what I needed to hear today. Also i was shocked by you only having 1.3k subs and this video only having 1.6k cause!!!!!! this is gonna blow up for sure. keep going fellow artist
I discovered your channel today, and I can tell that I’m obsessed! This was the first video of yours that I saw, and it was an instant follow. I could relate so much when you said that you create because you have the urge to do it, simply because you are a creator. It got me thinking, 'creators maybe share the same mind,' because this is something that has been on my mind lately. I've been so frustrated because I really want to create, but I never start, or I always put up that apology like, 'everyone wants to be famous, and I don't want to be just one more.' But it’s way more than just that! It's about creating what you are passionate about and transmitting that to people! Believe it or not, but your video gave me the confidence to start again. I want to make people feel the same way I felt while watching your content :)"
Rubin is a goat. Love your work mate. I find it interesting that we have this hustle culture, then we realise this is not sustainable and simply draining. Then we go the opposite way and realise that chilling out and doing less is perhaps the right way. And the right answer to me anyway is to always be somewhere in the middle!
amazing ted talk 🎉 - fr this video inspired me to 1. get that Rick Ruben book. 2. not care about finding my "style" and 3. just be myself when it comes to making content! so thanks dude, you just gotta new subscriber
Your channel is an inspiration for me, I love the way you're not scared to show your vulnerability. Thanks for the honesty and the good work, keep on creating ! Thank you form Belgium ;-)
I appreciate that! Trying to just be more real and honest. Nice to meet you also!!
I have a customer from Belgium. All you are so kind. I like it video. Thank you
Physically slow living but my mind is racing
Same
Mindfulness will help you with that. You will learn to control your mind and not let your mind control you ❤

Yes life has become too fast paced. It's the world against us . While the world works fast , we work slow but the world forget the need for breathing
So true, plus the fact that the companies heavily emphasised “hustling culture” 😢
“Reality is fundamentally made up of the slow, subtle & persistent things which create change leading to growth.” Always remind myself of this whenever I feel anxious about slowing down in life.
Beautiful ❤ thank you for sharing that
Slow living encourages individuals to be present in the moment. This involves fully engaging with your surroundings, activities, and interactions rather than rushing through life.
The art of just being, which requires us giving ourselves time and grace.
Detaching from social media and be at present moment
I also wanted to live slowly, far from competition and comparing myself to other's growth and success. Currently I'm not doing well in my career but as long as there are improvements, I think that's okay. We will get there someday in God's perfect time.

“Not giving myself enough time to just exist” thank you! I feel the same way!
That was f***ing awesome. Thank you thank you thank you.

Oh no way!! I’ll have to watch it!
There truly is never "the right way" but "the right way for you" I hope the best for you!!
Thank you for this. Inspired me in so many ways!
You are so welcome!
