So jazz is her main course, but still she is no stranger to almost any genre there is in music. Her music is pure gold. I saw this not long after it aired in the US.....and my comment was she will sing the covers better than the original artists!!!!! After watching more of her performances I still fully believe it. Her performance of Wicked Game, Chris Isaak is one to look at to see emotion that she hasn't lived....
Angelina is very talented. With all due respect however, there is another young artist from Norway who is, I think, even more impressive. Take a look at Aurora, an exceptional talent and a true individual. She is simply mesmerizing. Aurora writes astounding lyrics, many of which were composed when she was still a teenager. She is amazing vocally but uses gestures and all of her body to convey her meaning. Trust me, Aurora will have as much of an impact on you as Dimash did, but maybe even more considering what she has to say in her lyrics. She mostly writes songs that are somewhat sad but there are some exceptions and she recently produced her first love song. Perhaps begin with "Through The Eyes Of A Child' or "Runaway" particularly the version from the Nobel Peace Prize concert of 2015 (How many 19 year olds are asked to perform at such a prestigious international event? This provides a glimpse of her talent.), then one of the live clips of "Conqueror" where she lets loose with the most joyous dancing. Once you start, there is no stopping and there is much to discover (Check out her interviews, she is thoughtful, intelligent, playful, funny, quirky, wise, mischievous and as she herself says "A different kind of human").

Dear Megan, her outfit is her Grandmother's artwork transferred to fabric. Then made into the outfit by Angelina. Yes she makes her own clothes among everything else. She is now part time in Los Angeles because the music school in Norway said they can't help her any longer because she has learned everything they can teach. She started studying music at 18 months & at 6 gave a shoeless girl her favorite pair & vowed to ALWAYS perform barefoot until every child in the world has shoes. As you read through these comments I know you can feel the special person Angelina is. The truth is she is even more. She did sing at eighteen months of age. She did start scrolling through UA-cam at age two and three looking for Jazz artists to listen to. She did tell her mother at age three she wanted to sing for Simon Cowell. She did at age five say she wanted to sing at the Noble Peace Prize Concert . She did state at six she wanted to be a superstar and sing for the whole world. By age fourteen she has accomplished those goals and much much more.

Even now, even on the hundredth time you hear it, especially in this performance, Angelina gives you the chills for the ability to transfer emotions. I think it's really worth it, she is so unique, as a person and as an artist. I thinks that you can be impressed by the fact that Angelina at only 13 years old was able to face a challenge with such an iconic song as this and made her become her own song, with a fantastic reworking, a calm, powerful and terribly emotional interpretation and a great courage to take him to one of the most difficult audiences of the show. Great reaction, Megan! Angelina hss been doing her own arrangements for a very ling time. I saw an interview of Omer Bhatti, who was one of the judges for Norway's Got Talent in 2014. He said that the judges were completely blown away by the seven year old Angelina when she auditioned with Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday. (Talk about a song she has no business knowing.) But he also said that they weren't sure whether it was actually her performance, or the song she sang. Then he said that when she came back, they saw her telling the bass player exactly what she wanted from him and they knew she was the real deal and they had something truely special.

Hmm. Well, when I was a couple of years younger than Angelina here, I wrote a poem about climbing a mountain. Apparently, I related the experience so that a seasoned mountaineer was totally confounded as to how someone that age could convey it so accurately. At the age of eleven, I hadn't climbed any mountains. At the end of my sixth decade, I still haven't ascended one single mountain - except those stressors that besiege those with Asperger's Syndrome. I found Yellow Brick Road to not be as impressive. The reason it is not to most is because she had that song chosen for her and she had to use the arrangement that the show had instead of tweeking it as she does with most of her covers. This I think had her not as much into the song as she could have been.

Blues, soul, R&B, country, disco, adult contemporary, alternative, rock, pop (70's to current) and EDM (she's a bit of a darling of the European EDM set and has worked with Avicii, Alan Walker and TRXD - she was close to Avicii and has a tribute performance of Wake Me Up that she recorded following his death) - this is off the top of my head. Quincy Jones is a huge fan and when she was 12 he had her perform at (open, I believe) a major, star-studded gala at the O2 in London to celebrate his 85th birthday. A word or warning you shouldn't play the AGT judges comments because they will block you for that. The best way is to listen to them off-air. Angelina actually sewed her outfit with her grandmother Mery Zamani who is a respected artist and created the design on the fabric. You made a good call on how amazing Angelina's ability to convey feelings is when she sings. That is one ability that Angelina displays time and time again in many different genres. She is not just an amazing singer but also able to convey deep feelings that you would not expect such a young person to understand. I hope you react to more Angelina.

She's a jazzy singer. Her audition song choices were Billie Holiday. She also sang one of the songs acapella at age 7. She has so much control over her breathing and technical singing at that age was unbelievable. She actually sounds like Billie Holiday. To this date she has a wide range of singing for a young girl. The note scale has no limits and no struggles for this young girl. She truly is a prodigy.

She had given her shoes away, as a young child, to a girl in the street who had none. She vowed always to sing barefoot until every child had shoes. Angelina has done some amazing things in her 14 years. Her cover of Screaming Jay Hawkins' "I Put A Spell On You" (black and white version) at age 9 is very impressive. I'd actually suggest listening to that next, as it is so great and her most recent release, then go back and listen to other earlier songs. She has so many amazing performances, starting with her appearances on Norway's Got Talent at age 7. It is unbelievable how she covered Billie Holiday's in her first performance there.

Always nice to see new Angelina first-timers. As Angelina opens her mouth and start breathing her storytelling, using her amazing instrument; - it is bound to be moments of mindblowing and gasping for air. She is a natural born singer and musician. She was introduced to classical jazzstars by her grandmothers records, as she was 2 - 3 years old. So jazz is her main course, but still she is no stranger to almost any genre there is in music. Her music is pure gold.

Angelina is very talented. With all due respect however, there is another young artist from Norway who is, I think, even more impressive. Take a look at Aurora, an exceptional talent and a true individual. She is simply mesmerizing. Aurora writes astounding lyrics, many of which were composed when she was still a teenager. She is amazing vocally but uses gestures and all of her body to convey her meaning. Trust me, Aurora will have as much of an impact on you as Dimash did, but maybe even more considering what she has to say in her lyrics. She mostly writes songs that are somewhat sad but there are some exceptions and she recently produced her first love song. Perhaps begin with "Through The Eyes Of A Child' or "Runaway" particularly the version from the Nobel Peace Prize concert of 2015 (How many 19 year olds are asked to perform at such a prestigious international event? This provides a glimpse of her talent.), then one of the live clips of "Conqueror" where she lets loose with the most joyous dancing. Once you start, there is no stopping and there is much to discover (Check out her interviews, she is thoughtful, intelligent, playful, funny, quirky, wise, mischievous and as she herself says "A different kind of human").

Dear Megan, her outfit is her Grandmother's artwork transferred to fabric. Then made into the outfit by Angelina. Yes she makes her own clothes among everything else. She is now part time in Los Angeles because the music school in Norway said they can't help her any longer because she has learned everything they can teach. She started studying music at 18 months & at 6 gave a shoeless girl her favorite pair & vowed to ALWAYS perform barefoot until every child in the world has shoes. And she does all of her own musical arrangements. 🎶👱♀️👗👠👠💓

As you read through these comments I know you can feel the special person Angelina is. The truth is she is even more. She did sing at eighteen months of age. She did start scrolling through UA-cam at age two and three looking for Jazz artists to listen to. She did tell her mother at age three she wanted to sing for Simon Cowell. She did at age five say she wanted to sing at the Noble Peace Prize Concert . She did state at six she wanted to be a superstar and sing for the whole world. By age fourteen she has accomplished those goals and much much more.
I hope you do more of her MissMegan. She will continually amaze you. Even now, even on the hundredth time you hear it, especially in this performance, Angelina gives you the chills for the ability to transfer emotions. I think it's really worth it, she is so unique, as a person and as an artist. The 3 year old little girl in Norway had a dream, while watching the Talents on TV, to sing one day for Simon, I would say that after only 10 years she achieved it really well, she fascinated him, and not just him.
Angelina is not only what you saw in this perfect performance, she is much more, even very different, but everything she does is at a superlative level, she sang about 130 different interpretations, including covers, songs written for her and her originals written between 11 and 12 years old, if they seem enough.

I saw an interview of Omer Bhatti, who was one of the judges for Norway's Got Talent in 2014. He said that the judges were completely blown away by the seven year old Angelina when she auditioned with Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday. (Talk about a song she has no business knowing.) But he also said that they weren't sure whether it was actually her performance, or the song she sang. Then he said that when she came back, they saw her telling the bass player exactly what she wanted from him and they knew she was the real deal and they had something truely special.

Hmm. Well, when I was a couple of years younger than Angelina here, I wrote a poem about climbing a mountain. Apparently, I related the experience so that a seasoned mountaineer was totally confounded as to how someone that age could convey it so accurately. At the age of eleven, I hadn't climbed any mountains. At the end of my sixth decade, I still haven't ascended one single mountain - except those stressors that besiege those with Asperger's Syndrome. I found Yellow Brick Road to not be as impressive. The reason it is not to most is because she had that song chosen for her and she had to use the arrangement that the show had instead of tweeking it as she does with most of her covers. This I think had her not as much into the song as she could have been.

This video is indeed very popular because it was a stunning, live performance on AGT. But is barely scratches the surface of what she is capable of. Her roots are in jazz and, particularly, jazz standards which she was looking up in UA-cam as a preschooler. Billie Holiday is her hero and she has talked about her "unconditional love" for Billie. Amy Winehouse is probably her biggest contemporary influence. But she isn't only about jazz. She has covered pretty much every genre with the exception of rap and metal. Blues, soul, R&B, country, disco, adult contemporary, alternative, rock, pop (70's to current) and EDM (she's a bit of a darling of the European EDM set and has worked with Avicii, Alan Walker and TRXD - she was close to Avicii and has a tribute performance of Wake Me Up that she recorded following his death) - this is off the top of my head. Quincy Jones is a huge fan and when she was 12 he had her perform at (open, I believe) a major, star-studded gala at the O2 in London to celebrate his 85th birthday. He had her sing "Fly Me to the Moon", the version that he arranged in 1964 for Frank Sinatra and Count Basie. David Foster (not to be confused with “Forster”, who is basically a nobody 😂) is a big fan, Mark Ronson is a big fan, Steven Van Zandt (The Boss's longtime guitarist who now produces TV Shows among other things) is a big fan. This show is so fake in that everyone pretends to not know her, but we now know from her manager/uncle, Michael Astar, who said Simon had been trying to get Angelina to sing on AGT for years, but she declined because of the standard AGT contract's control over the artists. Angelina has been turning down record labels for 6 years. Finally, Simon wanted her to sing so much that he relented & offered her a special contract that relinquishes any control over her career. AGT needed her for TV ratings & she needed them to introduce her talent to the American audience prior to her releasing a new album of originals. The Pandemic has delayed the album release but it is expected soon. Last August, Republic Records made her an offer she couldn't refuse, so she is now their highest priority new artist. Go Big or Go Home. That's what I thought of her song selection and arrangement. It's already risky to pick Bohemian Rhapsody, it's courageous to sing a rearranged version of this iconic song. Go big or go home. You are right about her singing for a decade. You should listen to her cover of superstars Adele's Million Years Ago and Someone Like You, Lana del Ray's Born to Die and Young and Beautiful, and Rihanna's Stay. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (120+ covers and original songs - all on YT) and you will see! Consider that a 13yo steps before a huge audience with judges and totally controls the room down to the pin drop level, starts a cappella, and completely transforms what might be the most iconic song on the planet (a risky choice for mortals) and does it superbly with calm and confidence. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Etta James to Miley Cyrus (and many others in between) and do them all justice! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song (as you felt here). You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of studio professional musicians or an 80 piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come.

U should watch Angelica Hale from American Got Talent who was 9 and now 11.
She's a jazzy singer. Her audition song choices were Billie Holiday. She also sang one of the songs acapella at age 7. She has so much control over her breathing and technical singing at that age was unbelievable. She actually sounds like Billie Holiday. To this date she has a wide range of singing for a young girl. The note scale has no limits and no struggles for this young girl. She truly is a prodigy.
