Allison, that was a great 1st reaction to Angelina. She is the most versatile, amazing vocal artist of my lifetime & I'm old! She not only writes her own amazing songs, but even more amazing is she takes classic, iconic songs from many different genre of music & totally re-arranges them into "new" works of art that are usually an upgrade of the original. This Queen song, Michael Jackson's Billie Jean, the Momma's & Papa's California Dreamin', Elvis' Suspicious Minds & many others are all excellent examples. She literally "kills" Adele songs (sorry Adele) as well as Lana Del Rey songs (sorry Lana). My current favorite of hers is a song I've loved for 50 years & I've enjoyed many versions from legendary singers. It's the classic jazz standard, My Funny Valentine, which she has sung 3 times so far, when she was 9, 10 & 16. The 1st two were great & made me cry, but I hoped she would sing it again when her voice matured more. Well she did & her 16 yo version is the best I've ever heard from anyone, male or female & it's been recorded by over 600 artists! That was her grandmother they showed standing at the end. Her grandmother made Angelina's dress, and it was by listening to her grandmother's jazz records as a child that she developed the advanced style you will see if you watch her earlier performances.
Alison we are indeed lucky to be able to follow Angelina's musical journey. As you will discover A.J. has been a star since she was 7 years of age and has performed all around the world since then at many charity events as well as the Nobel Peace Awards. She signed with Republic Records-UMG in 2020 at 14 and is now 17 and finishing high school in Los Angeles where we are all waiting for news of her new EP release any day. Thx for a great reaction.

Alison, "Welcome to the wonderful world of Angelina Jordan!" As you found out already from this video she is vocally and artistically supreme. But you will come to realize she is a remarkable human being, too. Btw, Alison, those goosebumps which were covering your body are reactions from your heart telling the rest of your body how wonderful she made your heart feel. Another reaction from your heart is to start tearing up (with the urge to cry) and being unable to speak normally during or just after listening to her sing FOR YOU. That what she does and all of us have been down that road. It will take your head a while before it is able to figure out what just happened to you.
You haven't discovered her before this because she has been protected by her family since she was 7 years old from all the publicity which was sure to follow. Instead she has continued singing and has posted video's on you tube (including some original work) but has continued her education and life as a 'normal' girl and teenager..

Just an FYI. You commented on her outfit. She and her grandmother made that outfit from cloth 2:22 they had silkscreened some of her grandmother’s art onto. She’s far more than just a singer. She’s a true artist extraordinaire. She sings like no other, she’s a composer, she paints, she plays multiple instruments, she’s done her own arrangements since she was 8, she speaks 4 or 5 languages, and she’s a seamstress. If you watch her next AGT performance Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, she made that outfit also. AJ is just a remarkable lady all the way around.

Welcome to the world of Angelina Jordan ! Angelina is a child, prodigy and a musical genius. She has a strong jazz influenced background and has been singing since the age of one and a half. Don't worry about running out of stuff to hear on AJ. She started on the studio at age 6 went on TV at age 7 won NGT2014 at age 8 at 9 she performed her history making version of I Put a Spell On You! The between 10 and 12she put out Many one take wonders where she scrolls threw a list of songs on her phone and picks one out and records a hit and moves on to the next ,, no practice, no second takes ... she put out about 150+ song before age 14. When I heard that she won "Norway Got Talent" when she was 7, and after I was blown away by THIS performance, I immediately searched UA-cam to see if any of the NGT performances are online. I was not disappointed to see all FOUR of her NGT performances! She auditioned with Billie Holiday's "Gloomy Sunday" which deeply affected all 4 judges, and me. I literally had to open my eyes to make sure that Billie Holiday was not on that stage! I used to listen to BH when I was in high school and college. Angelina is now 17 years old. she has close to 200 covers and originals, most of which are on UA-cam, and most of which you can find multiple performances of. Whether she is in a studio or on a stage, 7 or 17 years old, singing with just a guitarist or with an orchestra, there are no bad performances. You mentioned multiple lives - that is what it would take most people to achieve all she has done in just this life (so far).
Congrats for turning into an Angel (name of her fans)! I got also hooked from this performance in 2020 and am listening to her on daily basis. Always goosepumps, sometimes even tears. There is no way to explain how good Angelina is. I’m in my seventies and have followed music all my life. Angelina is the best singer I’ve ever heard. Second place is not close. She covers five or six genres beautifully, usually with her own arrangements as you heard today. Pick anything from age 7 to now at 17. Her next AGT performance was Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road. It’s absolutely stunning. She again mesmerizes the audience into silence. But just listen to anything…😊
Angelina was very restrained with this Nora Jones type of performance in this audition. There is so much more that she can do and she gives us something different each time she sings, so expect to be surprised each time for many songs to come. I would suggest checking out some of her songs from when she was 7 or 8 and then some of her more recent stuff after which you will feel compelled to listen to everything in between. Everyone will also ask you to listen to her 9-year-old performance of "I Put a Spell On You" which is probably the best performance by a preteen in all of history, so don't miss that one either.
Wonderful 1st reaction Alison!, Lucky you, she has A LOT of material for you to react to. Last time I checked, she had 192 songs recorded (6 of those being originals) and she will be dropping an EP hopefully very soon, with the full album of original songs in the fall.

Angelina had over 500 million views of her singing videos before her performance on AGT The Champions now her views are in the billions . Angelina has been well known all over the world except in America not so much up until her AGT Champions mini concert.

Angelina won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 yrs old after starting the competition at 7 yrs old. The youngest winner of any Got Talent show on the planet. She had to wait two years because you had to be 7 yrs old to enter. She started with a rendition of Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday' which she just infused with Billie's soul. She followed this by another Billie classic with a pitch perfect rendition of 'I'm a Fool to Want You' acapella. Her next performance was a beautiful rendition of 'Bang, Bang' by Sonny & Cher and performed most famously by Nancy Sinatra. She won the competition with what I consider her first Masterpiece performance of 'Summertime' by George Gershwin. She started studying all the greats of Jazz soon after under the guidance of her Iranian Grandmother Mery Zamani a child prodigy in her own right as an artist and poet. English is Angelina's 3rd language behind Norwegian and Farsi along with Japanese and some German and perhaps more. She did this from 2 & 3 yrs old by scrolling thru UA-cam of all their most Iconic performance. Angelina doesn't just mimic these greats, she reinterprets them and then simply sings them the way they were meant to be sung. She makes them her own.
Angelina was begging her mother to go on "that Simon show" when she was 3 yrs old. encouraged to sing children songs, she would have none of that. She is well known worldwide in the industry. Her family and Angelina have been holding back turning down many of the biggest in the industry while she finishes school. Remember she just turned 17 January 10th. They finally signed with Republic Records about three years ago after getting a deal that gave her control of her artistic vision and has since released 2 originals, 'Million Miles' & '7th Heaven' plus a soundtrack for the New Movie "The Hating Game" which opens with her song 'Mercy' performed most notably by Duffy. Republic has labeled her their Highest Priority and assigned a team to her including Rob Christy a multiple Grammy Winner, often on the piano in many of her performances and a whole team of equally qualified professionals. She has worked with some of the best musicians in the industry and always get exactly what she wants. Some call her the Boss and have immense respect for her. Why Angelina always performs barefoot♥👣
For those who do not know.
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina says she still thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. Alison, you have been introduced to a once-in-a-millennia musical talent whom can sing in any genre. Angelina is a bona fide musical genius and a vocal chameleon. She wrote composed and recorded four songs by the time she was twelve years old. She is the youngest Norwegian citizen to have written a book and have it be published. Angelina was nine years old when she wrote her book, “Between Two Hearts”.
Angelina has been creating the arrangements of the covers she sings and her original songs since she was seven years old. Her catalogue of cover and original songs is currently at 180.
She is currently seventeen years old. Her birthday is January 10th.
She was fourteen years old when she signed with Republic Records in August of 2020. Her paternal grandfather passed away in 2018 and soon after she wrote a song in memory of him. The title of that song is, “Million Miles”. “Million Miles” was her debut single with Republic Records. It was released in November of 2020.
On May fifth of this year, Angelina released another song with Republic Records, but this one is from her upcoming debut album, which according to Angelina, is to be released very soon. The title of that recently released song is, “Love Don’t Let Me Go”.
Angelina calls her fans angels. There is video of Angelina being interviewed for why she sings barefooted. Angelina tells the story of living in the middle east as a very young child. One day while out walking with her mother when she was six year old she saw a barefoot young girl, about her age, with a scale and whom was weighing people for money. Angelina was curious as to why she she doing that. She approached the little girl and asked her why she was weighing people. The little girl explained why she was weighing people. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to do in her life. The little girl said that she wanted to be a doctor, but being so poor she said that was not likely going to happen. The little girl took a fancy to Angelina’s shoes. Seeing that the little girl had no shoes Angelina took of her shoes, which were a pair of green boots she liked very much, and gave them to the girl. The little her asked Angelina what she wanted to do with her life and Angelina said she wanted to sing for the world. The little girl the told Angelina that she will pray for her dream to come true.
It is for that reason why Angelina is lovingly and affectionately called by her fans, “The barefoot Princes”.
There is so much more to Angelina Jordan Astar, the outstanding, wonderful human being and other worldly gifted and talented person she is.
I highly recommend that the next Angelina video you watch and react to be her six year performance of, “I Who Have Nothing”. It is one of her first studio sessions and it was recorded by her wonderful grandma, Mery Zamani. Grandma Mery was, herself, a child prodigy as a painter and poet. Grandma Mery is Angelina’s muse. And even her and her family are quite apparently wrong about the timeline from time to time. E.g., she claimed in her Christmas show 2021, and later repeated that in a TikTok, that she played with Egil since age 7. Whereas Egil told Alan Papier, that he only got to know her for the gig at the prime minister, which was in mid 2014 when she was 8.
There are several videos on Mery's channel, that show a practice session with Egil, where some are titled "2014", and other's with "age 7". But is very clear, that this was not in first 10 days of January 2014, also by looking at her teeth.
You don't expect from an 8-year old to directly recall that later, so I guess the root of the confusion on her side comes from these wrongly labeled videos. And BTW, as about on every video on Mery's channel where it is said that she was 7 she actually was 8, it is also likely that in any that is labeled with 6 she was already 7.
This video here (which does not came from Mery's channel!) was also wrongly labeled until recently from the re-uploader, so that is the obvious source for the false believe of many fans. Which is obviously not their fault. It would just be their fault if they continue to spread this misinformation despite the clear evidence.
@@most2dot0 So she was 6 or 8, and sick or not sick, and her height now is 5' 7" (1.7 meters) or 6'2" (1.88 meters). These mutually exclusive contentions (and others) have been made and I think they will never be resolved to everyone's satisfaction. Angelina herself claimed, on AGT-C, that she won NGT at age 7. I'm happy for you that you have resolved this in your own mind. I think she will be famous enough that through the decades more legends and myths will attach to her and nobody will ever be able to sort them out for certain. I wonder what they'll be claiming in 100 or so years from now. Will sonograms surface showing her singing in the womb?
@@ShanLiB I simply think there is no reason to have obvious misinformation spread without comment. Yes, there is a lot of stuff told that is likely as wrong, but since there is no obvious evidence against it, it is often quite pointless to argue about it.
I believe that most people do not spread misinformation on purpose. Most people don't feel good about spreading misinformation, thus it's a service to get them informed so they can stop that. With the pictures and explaination at my community post I also have a better basis to communicate the evidience then others that tried before.
So I will for now inform people which give the wrong age to reactors for a while , and it either changes something or not, time will tell.

At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on UA-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran.
Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old.
At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried.
Musicians working with Angelina would call her the boss since she knew exactly how she wanted to sing the song and would confidently instruct the musicians. While one could say Angelina was mimicking other artists, there is no doubt she had her own style and created her own arrangements, even at this early age.
Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition to trim the number of vocalists who passed their audition, and was not performed in front of an audience.
In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them.
In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists.
When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. The vast majority of the prize money was donated to charity benefitting poor children.
Record company executives flew their private jets to Norway to attempt to sign 8 year old Angelina but all were thankfully rebuked. Disney also made an offer but not accepted.
In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration.
Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore and Mexico among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14.
At age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. The album can be purchased on iTunes or Amazon.
On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year.
During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each.
In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter and allowed Angelina to copyright her version. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT which would give Simon any control over her career.
Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on UA-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her.
During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles.
In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one.
Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield”
In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song.
Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022.
In December 2022, Angelina performed at the Asian American Awards in Los Angeles.
On 2/27/23, Angelina performed at the FIFA Awards ceremony in Paris, France, with a viewing audience in the millions.

Not bad for a 13 year old, huh? Angelina has something near 300 videos on UA-cam of well over 200 songs. She’s 17 now so that represents about eleven years of work. You can do the math if you want, but that’s a tremendous work ethic anyway you look at it.

Angelina Jordan is a music prodigy she started singing at the age of 1.5 years and more than that she started with Billy Holiday Jazz. Angelina sings in 5 languages, designs her own clothes, and becomes the youngest author of a book in Norway that explains why she sings with no shoes, like her name, she truly is an angel with a heart of gold.
