I purchased the a5100 for my UA-cam channel. The flip up selfie-screen makes it the best of the bunch for me. For lenses, I own the kit, the 55-210, the 50, the 20mm pancake, and the FE 28 full-frame. They're all good for different reasons. I do miss the electronic view finder at times and the hot shoe since there's nowhere for an external mic. For anyone starting a UA-cam Channel, I would recommend the 5100.
The 20mm is ok. It's small, but it doesn't have Optical Steady Shot, which makes for shaky hand-held video. I use it on a tripod for my cooking channel sometimes, but I'd just stick with the kit lens and save your money for something else, like the 35mm.
This helped a lot thanks so much. I want a Sony camera for vlogging and UA-cam videos (beauty tutorials, product reviews). I also would like an additional lens that will zoom into Products etc which would you recommend? Do you think it's really even necessary?
The kit lens is actually pretty good. Start there. It has a decent zoom range and optical steady shot. Since there is no hot shoe for an external mic, it's good to have the wide angle of 16mm (24mm since it's APS-C), that way you can be closer to the camera and the built in mic will pic up your voice better than if the camera is further away. Next lens to buy: For all around beautiful pics and video, I'd recommend the Sony SEL35F18 35mm f/1.8 Prime Fixed Lens. It has optical steady shot for video and will take gorgeous pictures too. For close up product shots you probably want the Sony SEL30M35 30mm f/3.5 e-mount Macro Fixed Lens. It's not a zoom though. Also, be aware that it does not have optical steady shot which means for video it will be shaky unless mounted on a tripod. The Sony SEL50F18/B 50mm takes gorgeous pictures, especially portraits. It also has optical steady shot, but the focal length is usually just a bit too long which means you have to stand far back from your subject. I would not recommended this lens for vlogging.
Thank you so much for your reply. I see a package deal on Amazon with the body and the body plus a lens (lens choices: 50-50mm f/2.8-16, 50-50mm f1.8-22 or 55-210mm) out of those ones which should I go with or just stick to the body for now (although if I'm going to spend the money I would rather get everything I need all at once). I greatly appreciate your insight 🙏🏾
I really like the way you do these videos in that you focus on what is likely to be valuable to an ordinary (non-professional, enthusiast, casual) photographer as opposed to the money-is-no-object professional and/or fanatical gear lover types. I started mirrorless with an NEX-5 which I thought was great for the money at the time and had a form factor that was great for travel and casual use. Next I got the a6000, largely because it had a viewfinder, a standard hot shoe, and some buttons and wheels which made it easier to access the settings I changed most of the time. Lastly, I got the a6300 mostly because I liked the improved viewfinder (clearer, built in level etc), the extra buttons, the sturdier weather-resistant build and mount (good for travel), and the 120 fps video (for slow motion videoing of dance moves). To be honest, in most travel situations all three cameras produce similar good quality photos given the same lens and reasonable light. Nevertheless each upgrade to me was worth it based on what matters to me in a camera and makes me want to use it. Things which seem important to some others (4K video, mic input, IBIS, touch screen, overheating with long videos etc) don't really affect me - hence my choice of a6300 over the a6500. To each his/her own :-) Anyway - keep up the good work !!
yeah but I need that middle button and also the "?" for other customs settings (like back-button autofocus) or magnifier for focusing with adapted lenses. :( It is very sad to have only 2 customizable buttons on a5000/a5100.
I've got the a5100 and have created all of my content on my channel with it. Super great camera for the money!! I've used it for lots of vlogs and edits!!
A wee tip for the 5100. You don't need to go into the menu to change the mode. Just click the button in the center of the scroller/touchpad - it takes you right there. I have A7, A6500 and A5100. The 5100 is great for portability. It's effectively my point and shoot that I can take in a pocket (and a spare lens in the other pocket). I picked it up used for about $300 (1.5 years ago body only). You just can't beat it for value. I can recommend it to anyone who already has a Sony system. It really is that useful.
I'm in a bit of a dilemma, I already have an a5000 with the kit lens as well as the Sony 35mm. I would like to upgrade the body and was just about purchase the 6500, however I've been reading a lot of rumours that Sony may soon announce the upgrade to the 6500 possibly the 6700. I really only shoot video and am very happy with the picture I can get with the a5000, especially using that 35mm but the auto focusing is very slow, do you think I should get the 6500 or get the 5100 and hold out to see what the new release is all about?

A5100 for me. Sold on the size, just to have on me all the time when I’ve not got 3 full frame Nikon body’s and multiple lenses strapped on my back. Nice to have in the pocket whilst doing wildlife for a few wide angle landscapes whilst walking around. I also hope to start a little vlogging. Only had it 3 days but loving it. Bargain on eBay for only £70 with 16-50 lens. Can’t wait to get out at the weekend and try it in anger.
4:57 the A5100 does have a shortcut to switch the shooting Mode, its an extra button press but the same options will appear on screen and the dial can be used to toggle between modes just as the manual mode dial
I bought the a6000 last year for £400 here in the UK. The a6300 was over twice the price at that time. I agree with all your comments including the poor battery life, so always keep a couple of spares in my pocket. Results are brilliant even with the 16-50 kit lens, and the huge ISO range is great for indoor hand held shots where flash & tripods are not permitted. The viewfinder is very good for shots in bright light, and the compact dimensions make it a great travel camera. My Canon SLR is seeing less use as it's sheer bulk & weight makes it a chore to carry at times. My only regret is the price of E fit lenses which are so expensive compared with lenses for my Canon. Overall a great camera which is why Sony are still selling it.
It's amazing how fast technology in digital camera's is progressing. I just wish they'd stop pushing us to their expensive line ups to get the really sweet specs. I'll give sony a pass as they're pushing the industry with their innovation.
The a6300 has one big advantage over the a6000 you did not mention: While at low ISO the noise of both sensors are comparible, the a6300 has a severe advantage at higher ISOs. At ISO 400 and above the a6300 even beats its fullframe brother a7 and a7II! This data can be found here: www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/RN_ADU.htm
Just FYI, you don't need to do a menu dive to switch shooting mode on the a5100, just push the center button on the wheel. You do however need to do a menu dive to switch basic settings, as there's no function menu, at least not that i have found. :) I ended up picking up a Kamerar QV-1M viewfinder for my a5100 (a5100 is my b cam, and pretty much my go to when it comes to macro photography), and that made the camera a 1000 times more useful when i have it out and about. :) Just don't get a viewfinder that attach via magnets to a metal frame around the screen, as many of the really cheap viewfinders do. Putting a magnet near the top of the screen, triggers it to flip the image, making these kinds of viewfinders pretty much useless. I've been really happy with my a6000 which i've had pretty much since they were released. I find it astonishing that the very same model is still on the market so many years later. I've grown so much as a photographer with that camera, it's really quite amazing what it has allowed me to do so far, though there's still a ways to go before i'd be completely satisfied. :) I've thought of upgrading to one of the bigger bodies a few times, but i always ended up just getting some glass instead. Imo, that is what will give anyone who shoots with an a6000, the biggest, most notable improvements, providing ofc. that they understand how their camera works to begin with.. :) Great comparison, i agree with your conclusion, you really can't go wrong with any of these cameras.
It's not an electric viewfinder, but an optical one. It attaches to the screen basically. :) You can look up the one i mentioned, it's easy and fast to attach and remove, it uses a manfrotto style base plate, so the camera will fit on most common tripods. These kinds of viewfinders were originally used when filming video on a DSLR, on account of the mirror flipping up and blocking the built in viewfinder, when filming. But it makes a camera like the a5100 (and any other that doesn't have an EVF) a hundred times more usable in the sun. :) Though i'll admit, it can look kind of silly. :)
I started my UA-cam channel with an a5100. Its lives on a gimbal now with its kit lens. I bought nother a5100 recently to help when I shoot interview style stuff. Two matching cameras are great for that. I seldom use a viewfinder, but do use the remote feature a lot. Nice comparison.
I read that the a6000 does not allow you to set the minimum shutter speed in aperture priority mode while the a6300 does. Can you confirm? This is an important feature b/c with wider lenses, the shutter speed that the camera chooses (usually 1/50) makes aperture priority mode useless when shooting people.
a5100 is great on gimbal. You can go to a selfie without changing the balance. When you flip up the screen it stays in the same plane as when it's in the normal position. I bought my a5100 to live on my gimbal.
I really like your videos, because you don't do the redundant "youtube-talk", but you are calm and informative. Keep going! I have a 5100 and miss the hotshoe and the wheel a little, but touchfocus is pretty cool - especially for videos. PS: As a retro-lense, would you get the Pentax 50mm 1.7 or Helios 44-2 58mm F2?
Niels _ Thanks for the compliment! Honestly I like the 5100 a lot, you're not missing much from the a6000. As for your lens question, I have the Pentax 50mm F1.4, and it's great. I haven't tried the Helios, but that might make for a good comparison? I might buy one to check out.
10:17 o.O why dont u use that battery attachment that u did a review on where u get 2 batteries and it doesnt overheat. i thought the sony a6000 can shot in 4k?
Nat The battery attachment hasn't proven to be very reliable, unfortunately. Battery levels die down and sometimes the camera shows errors, unfortunately.
I have an A6000 and it's a great camera but I didn't realize the noise that manual zooming makes in the video track. It's kind of disappointing ... I wonder if it's just my camera or if they all have noisy zoom issues? Good videos, thanks.
I ended up getting the NEX 5R body for $100 then bought generic batteries and charger for $25. I played with the 5100 a few times the 5r/t just had a better feel overall and dial knob as well. I hope Sony brings this back on the successor to the 5100.
I have an NEX-5R and A6000, and I'm planning on getting an A7ii some day because I want to get into full frame and IBIS for legacy lenses. Are you planning on getting a Sony full frame camera?
Very well done. I’ve yet to try this line of cameras though love my RX100 IV and of course my A7Rii. Always curious to try out these. If the 5100 had a viewfinder that would be something. Confused why the others don’t have the tilt up selfie screen and no touch focus. Even the Sony camcorders have it.
The only major update really is 4k.... and that's in fact more of a nuisance than a benefit given the terrible overheating issues. The sensor is more or less the same.... so if there are any other MAJOR updates, please enlighten me!
Rizwan, there are loads of differences. The sensor is newer, way more capable. The image processor is newer, way more capable. You get nearly a full stop more dynamic range in the a6300. That's a big deal You get 4K, better high iso performance, 250 more AF points, eye detect AF, 1080p120, color profiles, tethering options, audio line in The difference is night and day. The a6300 is in a different class.
I shoot nearly every day in 4K and I only have overheated in direct sunlight after the 20 min mark, and with the firmware update, it's gotten even better. The sensor is superior, the image processor is superior.
Hey, I am using a 6300 and got Sigma 30 mm 1.4 after seeing your video ... this really awesome and photography really has improved by few notches. thanks for producing these videos :) however really struggling with video recording on my a 6300 due to its limited articulating screen ... is a 5100 really good for Vlogging ?
You should make a video of those three cameras focused on Bluetooth, NFC and Wifi connectivity. and discuss how well they work on those cameras. THANKS.
Any advice on tripod for these camera's ? I am using an A6000 and a SLIK tripod. The tripod is so lightweight that when I was doing a time lapse of myself painting.. the tripod flew into a drain and damaged the exterior of my A6000..
Hi. Coming at this from the "I know nothing " angle. I'm looking to move up from my S7 Edge Phone so want a simple to use camera. At some point, I'll upgrade to DSLRs and manual modes but, not yet. I want a camera with great image quality, mainly used for videos and a bit of vlogging so think the a5100 is best. The overheating is an issue for me. Would shooting at a lower fps instead of 60fps make a difference? Hope this makes sense. If not Sony than, I'll to go for a Canon T6S Or 70D Thanks.
Brunellesp always shoot at 24fps when vlogging! If you don't need slow motion don't shoot at 60fps. And yes shooting at a higher frame rate heats up the camera more. You can check out my videos to see what a5100 is capable of! I'm a aspiring filmmaker.
10:25 if this heat-managing firmware A6300 update is like what HP and Compaq pull, it lowers the clock speed, which means lower performance. I wonder if that's why the A6300 sounds like it has slightly fewer FPS. Youmentioned after 35 minutes the 6300 gets hot. After 35 minutes of what? Being on? Taking photos? Recording video?
PLEASE HELP! I'm torn between a5100 with 8k shutter count and almost brand new condition vs a6000 with 41k shutter count with issue of stiff mode dial and have signs of use. The price is about the same. But which one should i choose? Please help me. I hope someone would chime in. Thanks in advance.
im playing with wedding for both photo and videos, im going to buy a6500 + sigma 30mm f1.4, does it sounds good or i should go for a6000 + 18-105mm f4?
An a5100 is a superb gimbal camera. You don't need the viewfinder anyway, and the new remote app on the camera and for smartphone is great for monitoring the camera on a gimbal or tripod. I have 2 of these and use them more than my a6300. I only paid 500 for the pair of a5100's ... in like new condition.
I have a question about the A6000 .. I bought this camera about a month ago to begin my Song journey. I spent the pass month testing it out, both still and video. So I set up my first live shoot with it the other day. Was checking everything out the night before and out of nowhere started getting this error saying that the camera can't read my SD Card..I tried all 7 of my SD cards and got the same message .. went out and bought a new one and got the same message .. I checked online and discovered that this is a common problem with several of Sony's cameras .. is there any fix? right now I have a new camera that I can't use
in the photo samples, the girsl skin tone is NOTICEABLY different between 5100 adn the 6k. Personally 1st seems more natural, other RED seems boosted all over the photo.
Do you also see noise in the shadows of a6000 footage i just got a6000 with kit lens but when i shoot even at iso 200 there is noise in shadows DRO is off i don't know what's happening blacks should be black it's looking like camera is trying to bring up the blacks and that's creating noise want to hear your opinion
Hey I don't know if you ever found a fix for this, just a suggestion that helped me. Two things, the a6000 is not on the best video settings by default, you should select XAVC-S and then pick your video setting (I just use 60p 50M). Also the a6000 has kinda wonky high ISO noise reduction, try changing the High ISO NR to low in the menu and see if that helps.
DeniedClub did all that and now i am happy with the footage but i would never recommend it to anyone it overheats after recording 3 or 4 minutes of video in avchd codec hasn't tried xavc yet but i think the camera will overheat after recording 2 or 3 mimutes in xavc
I stumbled across your channel because I've watched over 60+ videos in past week trying to compare Canon EOS M5 with Sony A6000 & A6300 & A7. So far very mixed reviews! Please help me decide as to which one to buy. So like yourself I make Makeup tutorials here on UA-cam channel. I also then try to take good sharp photos for my Instagram channel. I travel alot too so I love to vlog. I owe Canon 80D. Only problem is it's far too bulky for traveling & vlogging or even taking outdoor pictures. I would LOVE a good decent camera perhaps of even good quality as the Canon 80D for regular vlogs & photography. Please, help me decide which would be the best out of those four cameras mentioned at the beginning. Would appreciate any advice 😊
Phee Kasemphantai Lol I know. Just started a new job so I've been working 10 hour days and trying to spend more quality time with the wifey. A bunch of videos coming this week though.
How much is the battery life you getting averagely ? i'm travel photographer so can not carry too much batteries with me. Can you please tell me the battery life you getting on one battery please ?
i want the a5100 + zhiyun crane m gimbal, what is the over heating issue with it, i dont really shot long clips, what video resolution do over heat and resolution that does not heat thanks idol
Nice nice video keep the cool videos reviews on cameras and camera lenses But there is one error mistake in this video you make (time 7:00) that you stated the we all wanted a touch screen on both Sony a6000 and a6300 model so that's why Sony made or build the new Sony a6500 with touch screen but you are so great both model a6000 and a6300 should been a touch screen I just hope that one day Sony lets us sent our camera to them so they can replace your Sony camera screen turn into a touch screen
Odd about the lens play on the body of the a6000 when you twist it, I've just tried it on mine and the lens won't budge a millimeter ... solid! Maybe something needing tightened up in your a6000 body. Love the size and weight of the a6000 ... wouldn't want the a6300.
would you recommend the a5100 to people like me who basically wants to use something worth the price but still a very user friendly one since im just a beginner? or there are still some other options? btw, nice videos!! :))
Thanks for these videos! As a bit of a camera junkie, your videos along with reviews from Ken Rockwell have helped me a ton in deciding which cameras and lenses to get. At the moment, I have the a6000 body, kit lens, 18-105 f/4, and Rokinon 12mm, and photo quality is incredible. Is there any chance that you could do any sort of Macro comparison (z.B. Sony macro, vintage, extension tube, cheap filters)? I am quite interested in macro work, but have mostly been doing it with filters I inherited from my grandfather and with cropping from minimum focus on the Rokinon.
Thanks for sharing! The only thing would have been nice to see if the image quality in video is the same in 1080p 24 and 60fps (just image quality wise, ofc the focusing is improved on the a6000 and a6300 even more). Did you maybe make that test, did you see any big differences in video IQ (sharpness, dynamic range)
wtf man xD at 0:23 i thought my monitor or graphicscard is dying xD

Shivantha Rodrigo how can you be sure there will be a discount
well, there is usually a price drop during the holidays so banking on that :)
Shivantha Rodrigo i never looked for camera prices on the holiday seasons so i might get one when the price drops. Thanks for the info!
I'm new to trying to get my 1st camera. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what does "body only" mean?
@Amajeon no lens
hmmm, for some reason the a5100 photo looked more richer in color than the a6000 & a6300 when you compared the photos at 9:59
Yes, it does. I just looked at the metadata - the A5100 was shot at +1 exposure compensation. That's what caused the difference in color.

YES! Thx for the practical comparison!

The a6300 has one big advantage over the a6000 you did not mention: While at low ISO the noise of both sensors are comparible, the a6300 has a severe advantage at higher ISOs. At ISO 400 and above the a6300 even beats its fullframe brother a7 and a7II!

Just FYI, you don't need to do a menu dive to switch shooting mode on the a5100, just push the center button on the wheel.
You do however need to do a menu dive to switch basic settings, as there's no function menu, at least not that i have found. :)
I ended up picking up a Kamerar QV-1M viewfinder for my a5100 (a5100 is my b cam, and pretty much my go to when it comes to macro photography), and that made the camera a 1000 times more useful when i have it out and about.
I've thought of upgrading to one of the bigger bodies a few times, but i always ended up just getting some glass instead. Imo, that is what will give anyone who shoots with an a6000, the biggest, most notable improvements, providing ofc. that they understand how their camera works to begin with.. :)
Great comparison, i agree with your conclusion, you really can't go wrong with any of these cameras.
flip the image? does a5100 support auto inverted image?
oh, i see it is becasue of vlog lcd mode
Exactly. :)
correct me if I'm wrong, you attached a view finder on a5100? how?
Nice comparison.
what remote feature? what can it do?
a6000 for the win!
Ram of the Rose yes my a6000 lens doesn't wiggle on mine
Idk man the pictures have like a bluish tint
Stupid man
It´s incredible you did not mention 6300 is the only with mic jack. That´s a HUGE issue for video.

Most EXCELLENT review of these three Sony's. -Thank You!
a6300 also shoots 11fps, you probably didn't put it on fast shooting mode
Yang Lol probably. It was strange that the a6000 sounded faster.
TechnologyMafia Because its louder lol
You can just click „ok“ to switch modes on a5000/5100
this guy's review is golden!
Very practical review. NICE JOB!!!
Nex-5 or A5100? What is ?
a5100
Patiently waiting for Sony to make an A6000 with a flip screen...
Definitely
Hope you’re enjoying the wait
"breathing heavily"
they made it on 6400
What I need is a6000 with touchscreen
im confused, you say the a6400 /6000 dont have touch flip screens? But my A6100 both flips like the a5100 + a6100 and is touch screen
Great video as usual...
Do a video on picture profiles, when to use them, which is better etc.
Bought an a6000 and returned it and paid the extra to get the a6300 😁
I use my 6000 for more than 2 years, and can't see a reason to upgrade. Thanks for the comparison.
does it overheat while recording video?
Nice comparison, i got the A6000 1st then a used A5100. Can'taffordto justify the A6300 but all are great cameras.
Which camera is the best for autofocus for portrait photography and video shooting
All of them are capable cameras for portraits and videos.
I’m so bummed the a6000 doesn’t have the flip screen or touch screen. Wondered why they decided not to continue with it
did you find the video about how to hack so you have a selfie mirror...
I ended up getting the NEX 5R body for $100 then bought generic batteries and charger for $25. I played with the 5100 a few times the 5r/t just had a better feel overall and dial knob as well. I hope Sony brings this back on the successor to the 5100.
The Eye AF in A6300 is essential for my portraits!
overheating is something only related to videos. is that right?
5100 really looks good: flip out screen + touch screen. Why no touch on later models?
Due to more battery consumption
Nice review. Lots of great info. Thanks!
9:58 Looks like the color science is much better on the 5100 than the 6000 and 6300. 🤔
Not a huge difference between a6000 and a6300 to be honest. Definitely not worth doubling the price for sure.....
Rizwan Haq read my other reply, the difference is major but this video is terribly misleading
The only major update really is 4k.... and that's in fact more of a nuisance than a benefit given the terrible overheating issues. The sensor is more or less the same.... so if there are any other MAJOR updates, please enlighten me!
Rizwan Haq 120fps @ 1080p, and an external audio input. Thats everything to a serious filmmaker.
Rizwan, there are loads of differences.
The sensor is newer, way more capable. The image processor is newer, way more capable.
You get nearly a full stop more dynamic range in the a6300. That's a big deal
You get 4K, better high iso performance, 250 more AF points, eye detect AF, 1080p120, color profiles, tethering options, audio line in
The difference is night and day. The a6300 is in a different class.
I shoot nearly every day in 4K and I only have overheated in direct sunlight after the 20 min mark, and with the firmware update, it's gotten even better.
The sensor is superior, the image processor is superior.
Hey, I am using a 6300 and got Sigma 30 mm 1.4 after seeing your video ... this really awesome and photography really has improved by few notches. thanks for producing these videos :)
however really struggling with video recording on my a 6300 due to its limited articulating screen ... is a 5100 really good for Vlogging ?
You should make a video of those three cameras focused on Bluetooth, NFC and Wifi connectivity. and discuss how well they work on those cameras. THANKS.
Any advice on tripod for these camera's ? I am using an A6000 and a SLIK tripod. The tripod is so lightweight that when I was doing a time lapse of myself painting.. the tripod flew into a drain and damaged the exterior of my A6000..
Not even a mention of the a6300 weatherproofing. No mention also of the lack of customizable buttons on a5100. I thought this is a practicality video?
If not Sony than, I'll to go for a Canon T6S Or 70D
Thanks.
Brunellesp always shoot at 24fps when vlogging! If you don't need slow motion don't shoot at 60fps. And yes shooting at a higher frame rate heats up the camera more. You can check out my videos to see what a5100 is capable of! I'm a aspiring filmmaker.
This was such a helpful video! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
Recording video.
Hi. I use the A6000 but get frustrated by no 'silent' mode. Did I read that the A6300 can be silent?
Paul Adkins Yes, A6300 supports an silent mode for sure.
it can shoot 2.5 FPS without any sound.
Paul Adkins I like loud shutter sound of a6000. May I ask what you are shooting?
Nothing at the moment but if I want to take in a quiet place but not disturb people or maybe wildlife then a silent mode would be welcome.
PLEASE HELP! I'm torn between a5100 with 8k shutter count and almost brand new condition vs a6000 with 41k shutter count with issue of stiff mode dial and have signs of use. The price is about the same. But which one should i choose? Please help me. I hope someone would chime in. Thanks in advance.
can you advise me the configuration of a sony a5100 to take portátil pictures with this lens?
Thanks I am a beginner
which camera best for Makeup photos -Sony a5100, Sony a6000, Nikon d5300????????
A6000!
was that Okinawa in the intro 0:50?
I really like your video. I also own a NEX3, A5100 and A6000, i most use 5100 for video and a6000 for photo shooting
VINH NGUYEN I love my a5100 for videos
im playing with wedding for both photo and videos, im going to buy a6500 + sigma 30mm f1.4, does it sounds good or i should go for a6000 + 18-105mm f4?
An a5100 is a superb gimbal camera. You don't need the viewfinder anyway, and the new remote app on the camera and for smartphone is great for monitoring the camera on a gimbal or tripod. I have 2 of these and use them more than my a6300. I only paid 500 for the pair of a5100's ... in like new condition.
Nice comparison, thanks. So they all take the same battery?
No, and that's something one can look up on BH or amazon or anywhere that sells them
Any reason your videos are always 720 and not 1080 or 4k?
Are you watching on a phone? My videos are all in 1080p. Havent made the jump to 4k yet because I havent finished building my editing computer haha
TechnologyMafia I am watching on a phone but all other channels I watch I can select 1080 or 1440 even on mobile. Keep it up you make great videos!
Does the Sony tripod work with the a5100
Do you also see noise in the shadows of a6000 footage i just got a6000 with kit lens but when i shoot even at iso 200 there is noise in shadows DRO is off i don't know what's happening blacks should be black it's looking like camera is trying to bring up the blacks and that's creating noise want to hear your opinion
What did you go with?
helo , great video , by the way what are you using to shoot this video thanks
A Sony A6000.
You're back
Phee Kasemphantai Lol I know. Just started a new job so I've been working 10 hour days and trying to spend more quality time with the wifey. A bunch of videos coming this week though.
How much is the battery life you getting averagely ? i'm travel photographer so can not carry too much batteries with me. Can you please tell me the battery life you getting on one battery please ?
please give the different of picture profile, slog, and else then a6000
Great video! Thanks for the info!
i want the a5100 + zhiyun crane m gimbal, what is the over heating issue with it, i dont really shot long clips, what video resolution do over heat and resolution that does not heat thanks idol
is the quality the same on the a5100 and a6000?
Nice nice video keep the cool videos reviews on cameras and camera lenses But there is one error mistake in this video you make (time 7:00) that you stated the we all wanted a touch screen on both Sony a6000 and a6300 model so that's why Sony made or build the new Sony a6500 with touch screen but you are so great both model a6000 and a6300 should been a touch screen I just hope that one day Sony lets us sent our camera to them so they can replace your Sony camera screen turn into a touch screen
Nice video. Thanks. Do you plan to buy the A6500 or wait for the A6700?
Levisgil47 there's always a new camera coming out every year, buy what you can afford and start shooting! I still use a 5100
Awesome video thanks for sharing ❤️
Odd about the lens play on the body of the a6000 when you twist it, I've just tried it on mine and the lens won't budge a millimeter ... solid! Maybe something needing tightened up in your a6000 body. Love the size and weight of the a6000 ... wouldn't want the a6300.
Those extra 50 grams wont hurt anyone.
Nice comparison, great video.
Thx, but what cam have you filmed with?
how bout for both vlogging and photography? which do you prefer??
The A5100 is the only one with a flip out screen, so that is the only one that is truly a vlogging camera.
Thank you!!
Does the kit lens serves the purpose or 55-210 is recomended?
I need 6300 with prime lens what? Price of other country help me?
I can get the A5100 and A6000 new for about the same price. Which one is better?
a5100 coz of flip screen and compactness.
would you recommend the a5100 to people like me who basically wants to use something worth the price but still a very user friendly one since im just a beginner? or there are still some other options? btw, nice videos!! :))
My sony a6000 has no problem with wiggling of lens. I never changed lens. I guess it is due to the frequent change of lens.
In my Country a 6000 cost 500$, a 6300 cost 750$, which one would you buy mainly to photography, in part with manual lenses?
For photography, you will be happy with the A6000.
Nice review! For me, as a first camera...I would buy a5100... Can you tell me if the shutter sound is made by an actual shutter or by a loudspeaker?
You said that the autofocus with adapters is better on the A6300 over the A6000. Have you seen a big difference with adapters between the two?
Yes.
TechnologyMafia so it’s probably worth the extra if I have a bunch of good canon lenses
Are the batteries the same throughout the lineup or are they different?
I will like to know what kind of mic and camera you are using to record this video?
