Yeap, when an officer puts out an officer needs help call, that is the very response that follows. First Crown Vic with that halogen lightbar kinda looked like the veteran leading the way.
I will NEVER get tired of seeing those CVPIs. I can't imagine they are treated too well, but I've heard they are indestructible. So nice to see them still in service.
"Officer needs help call...South Central Los Angeles" Seems like a legit response! Awesome video 90210! I've never seen so many units except for protests and such...
@@awrapper actually, the rest are a mix of 06'-09' Crown Vic's, my understanding was that they didn't purchase any new cruisers from 10' to early 13' because of budget issues.
@@chpman2013 Wouldn't the 10-13 models be the Chargers and some of the last production Vics? because i don't think they would actually buy a lot of 2014 Chargers just 1 year before the newer gen came out, as the only 2015-today Chargers they have are all unmarked units.
@@gabrielmartines3510 Well, the Spring of 2013 was when they started purchasing new vehicles again, they started with around 100 vehicles (a mix of Ford Taurus's, Explorers and Dodge Chargers). But yes, the 2015+ Chargers they have are unmarked units. Tried looking to see if they have any of them as marked units. Currently, they're leaning towards the Explorer as their main fleet vehicle, even though they still have a good chunk of Crown Vic's running around.

Why does the LAPD still use so many crown vics? By the way, don’t interpret this as me hating crown vics, I absolutely LOVE them. I just know that someday all the vics will be put into storage, unfortunately.
@@Serching4JerryGarcia same. it is too much of a lengendary vehicle to be discontinued. especially since ford already discontinued all of their other sedans, so they might as well bring back the crown vic
Because the California climate is easy on car bodies. Midwest or northern cars go through a lot more weather and temperature extremes. LAPD also has a good chunk of the budget dedicated to maintaining their vehicles unlike other PDs (Houston Texas PD is known for poorly maintaining their fleet).

That was cool that they used the halogen light bar
@@vertualbackfire1538 still keeping the original equipment, as long as it works...
True they really dont want to buy new stuff.

Oh wow! That first old CVPI!!! It's very nice to watch these kind of units!!
I hope you had an incredible 4th of July!
Old Cvpi with mx7000 in the same video with a 2021 explorer!? Priceless!!
Where was the 2021 fpiu

The fireworks going off just adds to the overall ambiance 😄

LAPD not only has remaining CVPI's on their fleet, it also has some very old CVPI's that still use Unitrol Omega's.
Actually no, the older units have the Unitrol Omega's. The last Crown Vic's to have the 80K's would've the old, boxy LTD Crown Vic's.
Their 2003-2005 crown Vics judging by the age lightbars. The rest are 2011 models

Love the first crown Vic, really miss those halogen lights
What kind of siren is it, sounds better than the current ones
Unitrol Omega 90
Nice catches I love the older CVPI
WE ALL know the reason this clip caught our eye bc the 1st unit had an mx7000 lol
Nice. Love the Crown Vic slicktops!
The Crown Vics live on forever in the LAPD

Those fireworks in the background? It sounded like bullets at the beginning
Yup those were fireworks...several of thousands that went off that night
Mx7000 code 3 lightbars rule!!!
0:49 missing it’s hubcab in the rear because underneath is the dog dish black wheels
Was this taken on the Fourth of July?
Awesome video WOW!!
FIREWORKS and all those crown vics 😳😳😎👍👍
Why does LAPD and LASD turn their lights off when they get to a scene??

We'll have to see

Very few of them

its just a very sunfaded blue
Why were so many cops responding to fireworks going off in the street. The last scene shows a lot of code lights by the fireworks.👍😁😎

Because they're in South Central.
