I like the easy quests for modron enclave, don't care for how much effort I have to put into the seasonal quests. I'm disappointed with what they did to Nova, the fact they not only nerfed her after so many months but then didn't give a return of scales/favor is just another reason why I'm not putting any more cash into the game.
Nice video as always. I pretty much agree on everything you pointed out. Knowing that the source material for the Awful Ones is a small group and that it will remain a small "plugin" style of an affiliation (and having checked spoilers for what's next)... I feel they're not truly awful, but pretty disappointing overall. Breaking some variant restrictions is always a decent niche, but apart from that, they don't really have a home (at least in a solid formation). It's a bit of a bummer that they all get multiple multiplicative multipliers but they're not really compatible with any strong DPS. It's borderline frustrating for me as I'm still running both Krond and Asharra as my two "mains" I guess (I used to want to have a third team with Zorbu but two teams already slow me down enough and they cover each other, so I gave up on a third for now). These champs always seem to check almost all the boxes to be great for either, but never really. Well, Evandra can probably work for Ash, to be fair. I'll have to give her a shot in that team. The problem is that the other two half-elves in her seat are better champs and spellcasters, and when I need another tank and have to give up on the full magic school dream, well there's already Briv in that seat. So for Evandra to be worth running, her buff needs to get really high. I'm not sure. Actually, what's CNE's deal with seat 5 and half-elves? (Or half-anything for that matter). With this addition, we now have 7 half-elves in total, and 3 of them share seat 5... Adding our grand total of 3 half-orcs to the mix, that's 10 half-somethings with 4 sharing the same seat! It's pretty weird, and also a waste as they're almost all great champs but we can barely combine half of them at most, if that. Maybe that's the idea? We only get a half of the halves? ^^ In other news: this event will be all about Nordom, Nordom and Nordom for me (at long last! ^^). I've picked up Mehen and aside from his DM-style trick of potentially helping a bit for some restrictions, he seems pretty weak and super annoying to micromanage. I also picked Evandra and I'll do their variants, but I don't think I'll go out of my way to FE either of them after I'm done with Nordom. For Emergence, I'm pretty glad they at least fixed the amounts of CGems we get this time, but I also wish they had given us a bit more. It looks like I'll have to rush a bit to pick up the previous event's pigments before they're gone for good each time, and I'll never be able to pick up a single skin or GE. Feats I don't mind as we'll get them for regular gems eventually, but if we had the ability to farm even 75k CGems per event, I'd be able to save up the excess for one skin or golden every now and then. Oh well, it's still an improvement over the first one. Maybe it'll be like seasons and they'll make them gradually fairer as they go. Anyway. I hope you're doing well and have a hell of a time out there yourself, champion!
A note on the Ash + Evandra and going Elves, one negative there is that means you aren't going Potpourri, for which Asharra double dips and what makes that pick so good! I do wish Nixie and Evandra weren't so restrictive, Antrius set them off to such a good start. But, alas. Here's hoping we do get a smoother experience for Emergence in the future, and good luck grinding out the Nordom!
@@tyredack Thanks! Err no, half-elves don't count as elves in this game, they count for Half & Half (which is already my preferred setup: Potpourri + H&H). If she had been a "full" elf, I wouldn't even have considered her for Ash. Nothing would be worth giving up on Potpourri. Using Evandra with Ash isn't that big of a sacrifice, thankfully! The issue is more that she'd be replacing Calliope, to whom I returned and I now consider my best option for that team by far. I've tried Valentine in various configurations, but there just aren't enough PFAs for her to shine in my Ash team, as amazing as she is in general and in other builds (plus now that the NoVal trick has been removed, there's no real incentive to force Val in that formation). As an evergreen, my Calliope has a lot of ilevels, a few shinies and very good legendaries, but even beyond that, her kit fits perfectly with an Ash H&H build, especially for Trials with all the shield she distributes. If Evandra was a spellcaster, she would probably be the top pick there, but she isn't so that either kills my 9-stack Ulkoria build or it pushes Nrakk out of the team. Which, as much as I LOVE him and he's doing a lot of work in that team... is probably a tough but necessary adjustment I should make sooner or later anyway. He can't be in two places at once, and he shines even brighter in my Krond team anyways (especially now that being Lawful and Unaffiliated both matter there, whereas Ash's magic core and her team don't care about either traits). Gromma being my only tank often hurts and as amazing as Briv is, he's not a spellcaster either (plus he belongs to the gem farm first and foremost now ^^). So I guess I could swap in Makos or Shaka to keep 9 stacks for Ulkoria (and Dob) if I replaced Calliope with Evandra, and gave up on Nrakk. But will Evandra's buff make up for the loss of having Nrakk supercharging Ulkoria, Orkira, Dob (119% chance to do his offshore account thing! ^^) and Ash herself? And also using a weaker champ like Makos or Shaka and his RNG puzzle instead of Calliope? It might. I'll have to try. Nixie is just bad. Antrius might be amazing someday if the stars align (or maybe he already is for Artemis?). Evandra might actually be good for Ash specifically, come to think of it. Guess Arturius stays the only one of the trio i use if a late TomT-restriction says " no " to other in his slot . maybe someday we get a non-restrictive, just plain solid character you can just slot in anywhere for a change again - like DM . personally i would hope for something we have one or non-ofs - like Sisaspia ( Yuan-ti ) or the Torrogar ( cow ) .
It is unfortunate that Nixie and Evandra came out as restrictive as they did, with relatively lower numbers comparatively to the Antrius and his ability to buff anyone with big numbers.
With the addition of Evandra in Seat 5 (thus derailing my initial plans of pairing the Awful Ones with Force Grey & The Oxventurers) I have been experimenting pairing them with other affiliations (Brimstone Angels, Sirens of the Realms, Acquisitions Incorporated [with me recently finding out about the addition of Evelyn & Strix to their ranks] & the Dark Order). It going to be interesting seeing what works. Also I would love to see them add some other affiliates of the Awful Ones down the line, maybe a certain Cleric, a Tabaxi Rogue, or even a Druid. Not sure about the Warlock though.

ended up having massive computer downtime over the second half of season 3, and only managed to finish up tier 10 with mere hours to spare yesterday and no season coin to spend for the repeatable purchases... That's the flip side of FOMO, if you pay into something and end up risking not getting what you're due, it turns into stress and frustration! Don't think I'll buy a season pass again lol
I had high hopes for Evandra because on the surface she seems tailor-made for Asharra HnH; given that Asharra is in the alignment that she buffs, and there isn't really much in the way of HnH tanks (Krydle and Briv are the only other two). You hit her main issue on the head; they put her in the one seat where she's competing three other HnH champs in that seat that all generally seem superior (even Calliope has a niche against most of the Day 5 restrictions) and that's pretty much what kills her. Doesn't help her case that the one set of Trials restrictions I've found where HnH ends up being impractical due to a lack of tank options is the one involving the highest possible Wisdom restriction of 13+, and Wisdom is Evandra's dump stat. I can't even slot her into formations where restrictions force me to use a flex champ as a tank because they also tend to involve a Wisdom restriction. If she had a Wis +2 feat I would 100% consider adding her to the roster, but for now the best I can say is that she could be better than Valentine in favor farming runs, since Valentine's gold find depends on how many positional abilities you can stack on her. Also Baeloth's Generous Djinn popping before Not Completely 'Armless threw me for a loop because I've seen Orkira's Heroic Sacrifice pop before Generous Djinn. I actually went ahead and tested Baeloth with other champs with "cheat death" mechanics (Blooshi, Strix, Miria), and found that Strix's Death Ward was the only other one that pops after Generous Djinn. Make it make sense CNE! I'm glad you said that it's still not 100% right that we're only getting the bare minimum amount of gems to get all 10 pigments and that's it; I was thinking the same, but I wondered if I was being the unreasonable one in wanting to not have give up some pigments in order to get some of the extras. It's a step in the right direction, and if they want the duration to line up with the corresponding event then fine, but I think the gems we can get from drops and from dailies should be boosted a bit more in exchange to give players more flexibility with what they can get.
With how strong of a showing Antrius gave us to start, it's sad to see Nixie and Evandra perform in the middle, but here we are. I think we'll still see some Emergence changes in the future. I'm hoping what ends up happening is we gain a little over the 70k limit to pool beyond the pigments even if non-payers have to stockpile event to event and then choose sparingly what skins and such to go for.
Where did that emergence event daily quest screen come from? I play on Android and I see no screen like that in the app with what the daily quest is. Are the daily quests even in the Android version? I didn't even know the daily quests existed!
I'm unsure as I don't play on Android, but for me it's in the same location you find wild offers and event notifications. But also, I wouldn't worry as I believe all of the daily quests are to kill Modrons, which will be happening naturally with the nature of Emergence spawning that enemy type with every wave.
With the buffs to neutral from a chaotic champ, I thought she'd be a shoe-in with my Oxventure groups. But they put her in the same seat as Prudence. Shame, because Nixie and Antrius fit in so well with the Ox crew. Perhaps not ideal, but Oxtra got me into the game, so I tend to find a spot for them in group 3 or 4. She might have found a niche from another seat, but I struggle to see a use for her. Sad, because IC has led me to Deerstalker, so I've been watching (and enjoying) the Awful Ones.
There is certainly potential, the problem comes in finding the right Neutral DPS to throw in with them that doesn't conflict, unless you're willing to use Corazon. Combining the Oxventure with Awful Ones seemed to be working well, but now that Evandra is in the same seat as Prudence not so much. Nixie of course is the prime option, but she's not the greatest DPS. Birdsong is decent but she excels more with Lawful and Unaffiliated since Season 3. Lucius would get more out of Qillek in Seat 5. Nahara with her affiliation. Jaheira with hers. Asharra wouldn't get the best Bonds. BV needs her Aura of Infamy classes. Really comes down to Nixie, Dhadius, Nrakk (who needs more Wisdom users anyway), Yorven, Jim, and Jamilah. And that's a big pile of "Meh, unless you like them." We need more Neutral DPS I guess lol.

Since they are all chaotic, that would be fun for Egbert's kit (and give you more reason to say his name). I'd say maybe for an April 1st vid, but that's unfortunately past.
Yeah, you're going to have to bring a lot to the table to compete with Seat 5 these days, no doubt. Though, I don't know what they could bring to the table to make you reconsider your Seat 5 option.
That's still the one Champion/mechanic I'm holding out for. A Champion/mechanic that can call upon any Seat to fill a slot. I know it's' a pipedream, though.
Honestly just playing the game at this point. Modrons will be spawning along with normal enemies the whole time. But, if you for some reason feel like you're getting behind (and don't worry it does pick up the further into the event we get) you could always go somewhere like the adventure Dinner Party area 31 in the Dragon Heist campaign to specifically hunt for them with a speed team.
Nova still has one of the better positional buffs in the game to Observe. It puts out high numbers and can easily be on all of the DPS you want Artie to Observe from. Orisha in the same seat will be a bigger contender now as she is a DPS to also Observe from, but imo Nova offers enough that she still edges her out. Things might change if we get a few more Positional DPS down the road, though.
I dont really care about deep viability, AO and OXG work exceptionally well as a initial favour formation for events and time gates. Obviously they cant beat my valentine/Avren/Freely Warduke squad, but who can. (A lot can)
As always, I say use who you want! But, for ranking purposes I have to think about those things. It was seeming like AO and OXG were meant to be used together, but now that Evandra is in the same Seat as Prudence that kind hurts their synergy.

Once you have all of the Champions FE'd any time you get a rare or epic piece of loot it will prioritize it to those who don't have it yet. So, saving up on Electrum Chests between Champion released will get them full rare and either farm their event to 30-40 golds or use the equivalent of relevant Patron Chests will full epic them, generally.
I personally use gems to get gold chests to get bounty contracts to get event currency to farm more chests for the event character I have deemed to be worthy for me that would be nordom 1st then mehen and evandra is lucky to even get attention she's such a dead on arrival unit it's not even funny

Yeah, it was a bit strange. It seemed like the two had some unofficial synergy but doubling up on Seat 5 kinda kills that.

I'm seeing potential for a Merylwen/Evandra team. Any ideas?
There is certainly potential, the problem comes in finding the right Neutral DPS to throw in with them that doesn't conflict, unless you're willing to use Corazon. Combining the Oxventure with Awful Ones seemed to be working well, but now that Evandra is in the same seat as Prudence not so much.
Nixie of course is the prime option, but she's not the greatest DPS. Birdsong is decent but she excels more with Lawful and Unaffiliated since Season 3. Lucius would get more out of Qillek in Seat 5. Nahara with her affiliation. Jaheira with hers. Asharra wouldn't get the best Bonds. BV needs her Aura of Infamy classes.
Really comes down to Nixie, Dhadius, Nrakk (who needs more Wisdom users anyway), Yorven, Jim, and Jamilah. And that's a big pile of "Meh, unless you like them." We need more Neutral DPS I guess lol.
@@tyredack Interesting and well thought out reply. As a biased member of your community, may I recommend a challenge of spinning up a video based on a merging of Oxventurers and Awful Ones? Since they are all chaotic, that would be fun for Egbert's kit (and give you more reason to say his name). I'd say maybe for an April 1st vid, but that's unfortunately past.

Seat 5 for her was basically instant death (and not just because I use Prudence).
Yeah, you're going to have to bring a lot to the table to compete with Seat 5 these days, no doubt. Though, I don't know what they could bring to the table to make you reconsider your Seat 5 option.
They'd have to let me move Prudence somewhere else to get me to use a different seat 5 champion. And it'd probably be Valentine I'd use. 🤷♀
That's still the one Champion/mechanic I'm holding out for. A Champion/mechanic that can call upon any Seat to fill a slot. I know it's' a pipedream, though.

oof. didn't know about the Nova change.... had just dumped a ton of contracts into her.
It is unfortunate that the change happened, but at least she is still really good!
Is there a best way to farm the current emergence?
Honestly just playing the game at this point. Modrons will be spawning along with normal enemies the whole time. But, if you for some reason feel like you're getting behind (and don't worry it does pick up the further into the event we get) you could always go somewhere like the adventure Dinner Party area 31 in the Dragon Heist campaign to specifically hunt for them with a speed team.
Will Nova still be viable for Artemis or will there be a better support?
Nova still has one of the better positional buffs in the game to Observe. It puts out high numbers and can easily be on all of the DPS you want Artie to Observe from. Orisha in the same seat will be a bigger contender now as she is a DPS to also Observe from, but imo Nova offers enough that she still edges her out. Things might change if we get a few more Positional DPS down the road, though.

I dont really care about deep viability, AO and OXG work exceptionally well as a initial favour formation for events and time gates.
Obviously they cant beat my valentine/Avren/Freely Warduke squad, but who can. (A lot can)
As always, I say use who you want! But, for ranking purposes I have to think about those things. It was seeming like AO and OXG were meant to be used together, but now that Evandra is in the same Seat as Prudence that kind hurts their synergy.
Now the only thing I am missing is a speed champion.
I am sure one will make themselves known at some point *wink*

How do you epic all characters in an event
Once you have all of the Champions FE'd any time you get a rare or epic piece of loot it will prioritize it to those who don't have it yet. So, saving up on Electrum Chests between Champion released will get them full rare and either farm their event to 30-40 golds or use the equivalent of relevant Patron Chests will full epic them, generally.
I personally use gems to get gold chests to get bounty contracts to get event currency to farm more chests for the event character I have deemed to be worthy for me that would be nordom 1st then mehen and evandra is lucky to even get attention she's such a dead on arrival unit it's not even funny
True! I failed to mention gems - gold chests - bounties are the first step in being able to even be able to farm the event chests.
@@tyredack perhaps you could do a video for newer players on how to epic event champions and go over all that so they can farm efficiently
