    This is not a good clear. It's a lacquer based paint. Does not have the UV protection that pure urethane clear coats have. That's why it's sold in the UK. not as much UV protection needed there as in the states. So paying over $100 to ship plus the cost of the clear would be counterproductive and a waste of money to someone painting in the US

Man I've worked under those conditions and still came out on top. Relative to the the "fast" or "slow" hardener question. If you go to about 2:09 into the video you can see on the clear coat can (larger can) that there is a red square marked next to "standard". My conclusion is that means the clear is standard hardener vs the available "fast". I figured this out by looking at the product data on the Spray Guns Direct website. Looks like the hardener is all the same, the "standard" or "fast" is part of the clear coat formulation.

    Hellooo Mr Trigger Man hope you are keeping well over the pond👌Spray Guns Direct is a very good company and are very helpful as I have used them quite a lot here, they also do the Quartz Crystal Clear which I think is an HS but it's easier to use than the Liquid Glass I have used it and it's a great clear but as you say it does like to keep flowing I think it works best with a heated booth as it likes the warmth👍
    There is only one hardener the different speeds are part of the actual clearcoat so it should say on the clear tin what the speed is, if you need it I have the TDS here for it Trig it used to be called VOC Speedgloss 2:1 but they changed the name, I always use this as a 2 visit clear with a flash off, using it as a single visit clear is IMO almost impossible without getting runs🤦‍♂ok I'm now rambling so I better clear off😁

    • @thetriggerman954
      @thetriggerman954  15 днів тому

      Yeah I always look at it like how much do you want your clear to die back at 5%. You only lose 5% of gloss use 10%, you will lose 10% of gloss. Although there are some clears that there is no getting around it you have to reduce it. I just don't like the fact that people are being taught to automatically add it to every job just to get a " slick finish " That's the part I strongly disagree with.
