    One thing I forgot to mention is that my setup may seem overkill just for shooting UA-cam videos 😅 BUT I tend to film several videos at once, so this rig means I can film for hours without having to worry about the batteries dying in the camera, monitor, and audio recorder. Also, the b-cam setup can totally be an a-cam setup if all you want to do is film quick talking head videos every now and then, all you need is a camera, mic, and a light 😊 So that setup is ideal.

      Nothing wrong with being a gearhead. Your setup looks sweet. I’d run it off ac power if you’re not moving it around, plug in and go forever.

    Thanks, Tamara. This is super helpful. I am glad I found your channel. I am relatively new to YouTubing -- about 6 months -- and your videos have helped me a lot. I really like your style, attitude, and vibe. And the fact that you can shoot your videos with a little one sleeping on your chest. :)

    This talking head indoors is beautiful, are you using the g master 24mm? Also, do you use any mist how do you get it so dreamy

    Do you think it would be fine to have a phone mounted full length on the longer one without a lot of wobble?

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  Рік тому

      I put my A7s III on the longer one all the time, it wobbles initially but once you’ve steadied it and you take your hand away, it’s fine.

    So I’m just curious how you use the rode mic, is that for scratch audio ?

    I keep spamming comments I’m so sorry I’m not a bot I’m just excited.i don’t have a ntg4 but my question is, can I get similar audio if i am using the rode video mic pro + but close to my mouth, ? Is it better to have external recording and sync it in post ? I have a zoom h4n that I can use

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  2 роки тому

      Pro+ plugged into the camera close to the mouth will be good, but external recorder with mic via xlr is even better.

    If your a cam is the a7s3 what is the b cam?

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  2 роки тому +1

      a7 III, soon to be another a7s III instead.

    • @LouisLuzuka
      @LouisLuzuka 2 роки тому +1

      @@TamaraGabrielUK can I ask why? Is it for the flip screen and what lens is the b cam 50mm? You changed my life the way you take time to really build out your setup I will no longer settle for automatic settings 💯👑 thank you queen 🙏🏽

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  2 роки тому +1

      Many reasons, one of the biggest being 10bit 4:2:2, makes colour correcting and colour grading a whole lot easier, I like to shoot in slog3. Lens on b-cam is Zeiss Batis 40mm f/2.0 CF.

    • @LouisLuzuka
      @LouisLuzuka 2 роки тому +1

      @@TamaraGabrielUK oh man 40mm is one of my favorites, but dang 😳 THAT sounds amazing 🤩 should I make the jump from 8 bit to 10 bit is it worth it? You're color with color finale or film convert??

    IM afraid that this rig will haunt me in my dreams. You could have done a much better job so it does not look like a sea monster. Use shorter XLR cables , mount the audio recorder on the rails after the battery . Mount the monitor on the other side with a shorter HDMI . Attach the mic on the side w a nato rail you dont need 4521511 ifootage arms on your rig. I get that the point was to show that you can mount anything on them but this looks like a monster and it is not very convinient either.

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  8 місяців тому

      It’s been working out perfectly for me ☺️ I used what gear/cables I had at the time. I also prefer my monitor on the left, that’s just my preference, so I make it work.

  • @LouisLuzuka
    @LouisLuzuka 2 роки тому

    Do you agree with mkbhd for 30fps for talking head studio shots? Because you are viewing on mobile and it looks better with the refresh rate Vs 24fps or do you always shoot in 24fps regardless of the shot and 4k60 when you want to slow down ?

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  2 роки тому

      I sometimes shot in 4K30. In fact more recently I've been shooting my UA-cam videos in 4K30. And yes, I shoot 4K60 when I want to shoot in slow motion.

    That baby didnt make a peep the entire time! Are you not using a teleprompter or script for your videos?

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  10 місяців тому +1

      At that point I wasn't using a teleprompter. I'd script the video and have quick glances every now and then from my phone, but I do use a teleprompter now, I dug it out and started using it again from about 5 months ago.
